This Led Zeppelin song has always had a special place in my heart. After performing it live with these women at my charity show I realized that there was something special to be captured. I hope you enjoy this reimagining of the original song!
@@grace__bowers I saw Led Zeppelin perform 'Going to California' several times in their acoustic sets between '72 & '77 in concerts in NYC, BOSTON, BUFFALO, PHILADELPHIA & MONTREAL. Other songs from their acoustic sets were; 'Battle of Evermore', 'Tangerine', 'Bron - Y - Aur Stomp'(Sometimes a Jam on 'Bring It On Home'/'Fixin' to Die') 👍
Gracccie...u have done a beautiful rendition of the song piece. A lot has tried. U made it your own...😊....an..... Your toooooooo fluffffy...an fulll of cuteness.....lol...😊...🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Grace, what shines here, apart from the creativity, imagination and skill of yourself and fellow musicians, is the obvious love and respect shown towards the masterwork of 'Going to California'. I wish you all success with your musical adventures.
I had a boyfriend who sent me this song when we were just friends. Every time I listened to it I thought of him, even before I liked him like that. Come around about a year later and I DID begin to like him. I just so happened to be lucky enough that he liked me back. Fast forward a month or two and he asked me out. Dating him was genuine bliss. We never argued and talked everything out. He was my muse. One day we listened to this song in the car and disagreed on our favorite parts of the song before laughing together. A few days ago he broke up with me due to not seeing a future with me long term based on some conversations we had about where we would end up one day. I miss him very dearly. I hope once we mature and grow older that we’re able to come back together and fall back in love, and of course fight over what part of this song is the best part, but until then I’ll just keep thinking of him every time I hear it. Thank you for this beautiful cover 💗💕
I liked the wider variety of instruments in the background to provide a modern character while still honoring the melodic simplicity of the original. Also having the clean quiet electric doubling the acoustic smoothed out some of the percussiveness of the mandolin. Someone is putting a lot of thought into the instrumentation and mixing of these songs.
Astonishing! I'm in my 60's. I grew up on the Mighty Zep and this version touches my heart. Thank you to everyone involved in creating this version of this classic Led Zeppelin tune.
Grace, you made this song with some world class players and you were up there with them. How much you will achieve with skills like yours, this version is the best.
I've been listening to Led Zeppelin ever since I was a child and I'm currently 34... It's safe to say that I have major goosebumps right now. This is awesome.
Absolutely wonderful job! I love everything done here, congratulations to everyone who worked on this, you all did amazing ❤❤❤ you inspired me to learn this a couple days ago so I ended up playing it along with the recording, it's honestly spiritual feeling 😂 definitely saving this one, again, well done ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Everyone really did a fabulous job on this. It's beautiful. I was in high school in the mid 70s, so we lived and breathed Led Zeppelin when I was a kid... I'm always going to be hard to please when it comes LZ covers. And I'm VERY impressed with this.
I follow Gregg Rolie and he recently liked one of your videos, so I had to see what the buzz is about. You’re very talented and I’m looking forward to seeing your career progress.
Stumbled onto Grace Bowers playing this beloved song. If you're going to do a cover of one of the most legendary bands in rock history AND release it to the world, you better do it well. You did.
Beautiful cover ❤❤❤ Going to California is a memory from my childhood. My parents had a liquor store and the man who rented had videos of Led Zeppelin concerts, among other rock and roll bands. Dad took us, I was 6 or 7 years old, and we watched Going to California at Earls Court 1975 on VHS (video home system), but I had forgotten. When I was about 18 years old when I heard it again, Jimmy always came to my mind, sitting playing the guitar, without knowing why. But when I was 24 years old I looked for the concert and there it was, the memory tattooed in my mind 😊 By the way, I'm 34 years old 😅
SUPERB, BEAUTIFUL, ENCHANTING AND JUST PERFECTLY DONE - GREAT ENGINEERING OF ALL MUSICIANS - LISTEN AS LOUD AS YOU CAN TO HEAR EVERYONE OVER AND OVER - GREAT WAY TO START A CAREER - KEEP THE FAITH! PEACE AND LOVE❤
Am a big fan of the original, it's trippy otherworldiness and I really dig what you did with it, how you paid homage to the original but made it your own.
You sing really good grace, we need more of your voice singing ,,,grace , ok that will be a great day when you decide ,to actually use your voice grace, and sing 🎤 , it will be fine , ok just do it now right now ,ok thanks BigAl California.
Not going to lie, I still prefer Robert Plant's vocals. That said, I think the instruments here are beautiful, stunning, haunting, a strange but perfect mix of richness and simplicity. They always do what I want and are prettier than I am expecting. I wouldn't change a thing. Overall, one of the best covers of this song I've heard, no doubt.

There are many excellent covers of this luminous beauty from Amy Lee to Brandi Carlisle. This is my new favorite. What a sparkling gem!
One of the best covers I've heard of this masterpiece, by the way, an incredible voice and the guitar is just perfect
Really enjoyed the added depth of the instruments. It was like hearing the song in 3D.

As a lifelong Led Zeppelin fan, I would say that Going to California is not an easy song to cover, but this is perfect, love it!!
Excellent version. Beautiful. This demonstrates what a wonderful song this is and has always been.
The spirit fully captured and all that delicate airy texture and filigree. 😊

Великолепный кавер! Спасибо, Грэйс! Хотелось бы больше каверов Led Zeppelin от Вас!
Can't beat the Zep and this is a beautiful performance all round. Makes me feel like summer hasn't deserted us quite yet.
