  • Growing up in the 90's and early noughties, I was consumed by the 'Best Motoring' and 'Hot Version' culture like many of my audience I'm sure. I have watched dozens of VHS tapes and VCD's with Japanese racing drivers like "Dori Dori" driving AE86's, GTR's, Evolution's, Sti's and all sorts of other JDM legends around different racetracks relentlessly. After graduating from university, I too went through a JDM phase having owned a Nissan 350Z, WRX STI, and a Honda FD2 Civic Type R. One car that I always wanted back then but never found the right opportunity, was the Honda Integra Type R DC2 with the legendary B18 engine. Today, I finally found one - a 96 Spec from 1997 in mint condition. Watch this video to see what I think of it!

WOW! Amazing video! Awesome to see your clutch/footwork while driving, really cool camera work you added. That engine just screams excitement. You're lucky to own one of those beauties. Thanks for the video, enjoy that car!

Great video thank you. 98 ITR Canadian spec owner in Canada and still love it in 2021. I have had bone stock, modified with Tein Monosport coilovers and now my final version mildy modified. Spoon springs and shocks, CT engineering ice box, JDM 4-1 header and OEM exhaust system. JDM 98+ SRS steering wheel and DC2R Recaro. It balances street and track nicely. It will never be the fastest car but it is so fun and rewarding.

Thanks dude. Legit have respect for North American ITR owners who owns and runs the car to this day. I would imagine it's always tempting to trade it for something with 'more power' given the culture and roads over there. But to keep it so long is true passion!

@@instacarhk5963 You are bang on. In fact I did sell my first 2001 Dc2R for a BMW 1M but missed ITR and got this 98. I am going to keep and add an FK8 CTR for track and daily use.

Dive into a tight corner on smooth pavement at around 4-5,000 and then punch it past 6,000 into VTEC while still approaching the apex of the corner, it punches the tires loose, a bit of opposite lock, the diff bites and you are off to the next corner! My favorite thing to do in my DC2 Type-R:)

Beautiful car. Very tastefully chosen modifications. I just ordered a 96 Integra type R shipping from Japan to the USA. Btw the black interior is original black on black. Not black and blue. The seats when faded start turning blue then eventually purple.

Try not to let the revs fall and then slip the clutch out when you blip it on the way down. Let the clutch out while the revs are still peaked. What you’re doing is just the same as not blipping it atol, and just slipping the clutch out. Sick car mate 👍🏻
