Blue Stahli was some of the first music I found when really getting into music, so many years ago, and I loved the sound immediately. It's been a while since Lakes Of Flame released, and in that time, my music taste has shifted quite a lot to being even heavier. I had begun to worry that I may not be able to connect with the eventual newer music in the same way I did back then, years ago. It brings me so much happiness that not only would the return be so triumphant, but that any fears I had were immediately put to rest. This trilogy has been incredible, and that means so much to me.
I'm so glad that this trilogy resonated with you, especially after you say you've preferred heavier stuff. I always maintain that people looking for "all heavy all the time" or even "all vocals all the time" just will not like what I do, so it's greatly appreciated that you found this action during your time of discovering what you like, and wound up liking it again. Thank you!
Once, a long time ago I saw a parked UPS truck downtown and the person driving the truck had gone inside a store probably to deliver a package. The music was playing from inside the truck and it was some rock song I didn't recognize, so I figured I'd just wait a little bit and see if I could ask this person what song it was. Somewhat unfortunately, the song changed, but it began playing a very familiar song, ULTRAnumb. I was super blown away that some random UPS driver I had never met listened to the same music I did. While I wasn't looking the driver had gotten into the truck. I waved at them and just called out "I really like your music taste!", she waved back and drove away. Was super surprising to see someone else listened to this music, and I'm really glad it's still going
If I could describe how those 3 albums feels like in my imagination using simple analogy, then Quartz - Sledgehammer Copper - Silent Hill's mist Obsidian - Dark waters

My sweet unholy hell, this album takes everything I've known from you and just slams it all together into a beautiful masterpiece. These three chapters have been a wonderful onslaught from you and a welcomed one. You can hear and feel the emotion put into each track from start to finish. Great work man! Absolutely outstanding. I feel incredibly lucky to have discovered you all those years ago. Don't ever forget the impact you make on someone half the world away. Thank you for sharing this with us!
That was just incredible!! The sound design, the fusion between rock and electronics, the timbres, the feelings but especially FEELINGS! It was like being part of a little movie :D and I absolutely love when these things happen. Bret... you're an Artist
I first discovered you at 14 and your music been an irreplaceable force driving me forward through good and bad. Having this album come out at such a turbulent time has been such a source of joy, thanks for doing what you do and I look forward to supporting this and all your future endeavours too!

I still rememeber when I discover this masterpiece few years ago. From the trilogy I tought it was the one that was mixing to the finest each styles. No shade to Quartz or Copper, I love them all. Thank you for enchanting my ears 🖤
Well well well, here we finally are, the end has arrived and our travel in the Dead Channel is ending with that absolute madness of an album. Ngl, I've never expected Bret to overcome his previous achievements with Devil and amazing Quartz. BUT THIS... THIS IS THE NEXT LEVEL OF MUSIC
Bret is the only one who mix cyberpunk metal with melodic parts perfectly. I love your melodic parts with your voice of soul and emotions. Thats awesome. Cheers from germany.
This has to be your most melodic, peaceful and emotional album. It reminds me a bit of Comaduster, something which I loved. The pain, despair and darkness prevail in every song and I have to say you did not sacrifice any of the "blue stahli qualities" vocal wise, but you achieved a higher level of musical confidence while having your sound remain recognizable. Much love to you!
Stayed up until midnight to buy the album, was not disappointed. Has the sledgehammer heaviness of Quartz, but also the ambience of Copper, great end to the trilogy. I heard originally, that Obsidian was supposed to be the third vocal album after The Devil, imo it fills that slot perfectly too. God bless you Bret.
Man bret u nailed this album, love the variety of sound and style, congrats to the awesome album, hope u make a second sunset neon as well if possible, love u man.u sir are awesome 😊
thank you! This album, and the whole trilogy, was a ton of work! As for your other hope...I'd suggest watching the "Summoning the Traveller" video of The Butterfly Tourism Board til the very end
Bret ...you are a true talent! I found your music a year and a half ago and have been completely obsessed with your style and creativity. Great job on Obsidian....I hope this continues to catapult your career! Rock on!!
Your music has been pretty much the only stuff I listen to these last few years, and I just wanna say thank you very much for these latest releases. I can't say enough good things about you or your music, every new song has left me speechless at how powerful and awesome it is. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
The perfect dark marriage between sweet, succulent vocal work and heavy hitting, gritty instrumentals that defies explanation and warrants spiritual introspection
Truth be told, I was not expecting this at all. From all the singles we have received so far (and the preview of catastrophe) I never would’ve expected the last few songs to be a mix of ambiance and beautiful singing. However! Not only has this entire album astonished me but has possibly become one of (if not the) my favorite albums of all time. It has been a ride to hell and back but in the end we have arrived. Now please join me as we descend further into obsidian.
I really love the shift to a more darker, ambient kind of setting. Especially in the song Gravity and Pgornosis, two absolute incredible songs. It's amazing how he is keeping it kinda calm and soothing, while going very heavy (not too fast / aggressive but rather "mildly" heavy) The guitar tuning is almost Deathcore tier tuning... I would call this one of the best modern Progressive Metal album of the year.
Amazing job, man! I still wear my full print Obsidian shirt you guys sold way back when. Glad to see you putting out so much more music after your split. Keep up the great work dude!
Wow, thank you very much for the support this entire time! And funfact: that old shirt was designed by Virocity, who has also done a ton of my previous stuff, and most importantly, ALL the graphic design/merch/web stuff for this trilogy! He's in creative director role because some things that he would offhandedly say would be cool during meetings, wound up inspiring a lot of the further video content as well!
@@bluestahli Haha, sounds like a great dude to be around. Bet he's one of those one in a million guys that you can't do without. I really look forward to your future work. Your vocal tracks are all my favorites. Amazing voice!
Am I crazy, or was the soundtrack for Dark Reign sampled for the first song? Maybe it was a stock orchestral hit, or a common sound, but it sounds just like it! Great music, been listening since your debut album, Stahli!
Been a fan for almost a decade, and it's impressive how much you've grown as a music writer. And I don't just mean lyrically, I mean orchestrally. You’ve never lost your touch for making great music, and I’m sure all of us fans can agree this is a wonderful and very true to yourself album. Thank you for all the hard work you’ve put into this masterpiece trilogy!
Absolutely delicious. I don't know how he does it - fusing genres to such magnificent effect. Not to mention the fact that he's released three albums in less than a year, during one of the most nightmarish times in recent memory. The dude's seriously a machine. This thing is incredible from beginning to end, but I especially adore the beat in The Mountain, and the sludgy intro to Catastrophe was an instant delight. (Plus, that transition from The Mountain to Nothing Ever Stays?? Taking me from headbanging to tears of awe in 2 seconds....) My favorite has to be Prognosis, though - I'm hearing a lot of callbacks to previous songs, especially the riff from Enemy (one of my all time favorites) which he then mutates and builds on so brilliantly. Definitely showing off how he's evolved as an artist over time. Fucking spectacular.
Blue stahli at this point feels like an artist who doesn't even define a genre anymore. I feel like over the past years I have listened to blue's content, it have evolved into it's own animal with its own characteristics. This is more of a deep dive into a creative mind, less then music. Then again, not everybody has the talent of blue stahli. -Oli

Turns out it was more of a "whatever happened to me?" that I haven´t discovered this trilogy earlier... Just wen to amazon and bought the 3 albums, blasting my brains away right now with Quartz.... Congratulations man, I´ve been a fan since the first Anti-sleep, even before the release of the self titled album (What a masterpiece) and I just gotta say you're consistent with your style as hell, but always taking a new approach... I really appreciate all the effort and work that goes into this type of music as well, your material is always fire!! I always wear my semi-worn out shirt with pride since it's a great T, but today I wear it even more proudly, again, CONGRATULATIONS, you always outdo yourself. Greetings from Spain!
Bret... I know the history of the entire Deadchannel trilogy and when I listen to this album, I really want to hug you! This album is fantastic, and the other ones too!
Favorite song is The Mountain, the chorus is exactly what makes you unique and why you deserve more recognition. Id love to use your music some time in the future.
Found you in 2015 when I watched a gameplay video of elder scrolls online and heard The Fall in it. Had me digging around for a while to find out what the songs name is. I just get pull myself away from those amazing vocals and the lyrics resonated with a situation I found myself in back then. Now we're in 2021 and I don't regret looking that song up at all. Enjoying your music ever since I found you Bret. Only the best wishes for you and stay awesome.
So hyped, I got to listen to the entire track in one sitting for the full experience! Question btw, ever plan on getting physical copies done or will the trilogy just be digital? I would download the entire three albums but if they’re ever coming out I’d wait for the disks, thanks again for blowing our minds!
Would be good if the album was on a full cd with the best songs from the trilogy. To make it near 1 hour and 20 mins. I would listen to it in my van delivery driver job really loud. 38 mins isn’t long enough for me.
It's been a LOOOONG time since I've just sat and listened to an entire album from start to finish. Thank you for creating all the great music over the years. You inspire me so much.
I have been looking forward to this album since I heard about it. The soul in your music is evident now more than ever, the heart, the experiemental sounds. Cheers to you sir.
I feel like this is what the world needs now. like legit. This is some of the best music i have heard in a very long time. with how messed up the world have become and after losing my dad to covid recently, i find it very hard to feel alive, but your music is like pure fire man. this is exactly what i needed and i bet you i’m not the only one. thanks for some amazing tracks man. absolutely magical.
Hey there, thank you so much for sharing this. I am so sorry to hear about your father and I know that kind of grief is immeasurable and constant. It means a lot to know that this music could be in any way helpful to you, since I made this trilogy as a way to work through stuff after being my mom's caretaker and ultimately losing her to brain cancer. I know how difficult it is to find purpose and any remnant of hope in the aftermath of a loss this huge. I'm pulling for you over here
Man, what a ride, thank you Bret for the hard work. I hope you continue to kick ass in the coming years and release the noises that are locked in your head for all of us to enjoy. Much Love.
This album is a damn *masterpiece.* The sound design, the sheer range of emotions - EVERYTHING about this is absolutely exquisite. A perfect conclusion to the best musical experience I've ever had. Very well done.

The last soundtrack was such a nice touch.
Blasting this as i workout every day. One Last Breath is my favorite. So good it makes -20C winter feel like summer.
Amazing. By far my favorite artist. Best regards from Croatia
Listeng to your music for 3 years now, and I say that you're getting better and better every year
Favorite song is The Mountain, the chorus is exactly what makes you unique and why you deserve more recognition.
Id love to use your music some time in the future.
Discovering this is a proof that 2021 is going to be great
This album is so dynamic, so many genres! It's refreshing between each song.
Also found Bret in 2015, what a journey.
The epic sound of that intro track alone is worth the album purchase
Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing!
Love how these albums are like a combination of your mostly vocal albums AND antisleep at the same time. Actually, it's like your Voxis project!
So hyped, I got to listen to the entire track in one sitting for the full experience! Question btw, ever plan on getting physical copies done or will the trilogy just be digital? I would download the entire three albums but if they’re ever coming out I’d wait for the disks, thanks again for blowing our minds!
Thank YOU! And that's a damn good question. Stay tuned...
Would be good if the album was on a full cd with the best songs from the trilogy. To make it near 1 hour and 20 mins. I would listen to it in my van delivery driver job really loud.
38 mins isn’t long enough for me.
I listen to your music for years now and you still produce extremely awesome new work. Looking forward to future albums!
As a newer listener of your music it feels like I missed out on a lot that went on in your life but it sounds great! You've got yourself a new fan!

Ok. You can't hear this everyday. This is gonna be good :) Thanks for the quality music
It's been a LOOOONG time since I've just sat and listened to an entire album from start to finish. Thank you for creating all the great music over the years. You inspire me so much.
This is just beautiful, thank You Bret for this deadchannel trip, big hug and love for You fella
I have been looking forward to this album since I heard about it. The soul in your music is evident now more than ever, the heart, the experiemental sounds. Cheers to you sir.
Happy Birthday obsidian:D💙💜
And the Dead channel trilogy!!!
Could you at least warn us ? I almost got a heart attack this morning when I looked at my notifications.
Ha, I'm just here to help the day along
One of the best albums in 2021. Love it! Ty! You are a True Artist! 👍🏿💯
From Dead Rising 2, to the present day, that's how long I've been loving your music. Keep rocking, Samurai.
The algo. brought me here and I ended up listening to the whole thing straight through. What an amazing album 10/10
Nothing ever stays and Daylight are extremely pleasant and smooth , yet terrifyingly eerie.
Randomly stumbled over this album after listening to a decent amount of Brets stuff before, and my god, Legion slaps hard. I love this song so much.
Blue Stahli and Chevelle are the only bands I would ever consider hitting the "like" button before even hearing their new stuff, I'm that sure its gonna be fuckin awesome
Great powerful album 🤘👽🤘
Amazing Work, congratulations for the Best Music.
Just the first song in, and I'm loving it! Cant wait to get the album once my bank account starts functioning again. Until then, TH-cam will have to do.
I appreciate you listening and spreading the word however you can. That's why I put everything up in full on TH-cam, I'm just glad you're enjoying it
One of my absolute favorite albums!
I absolutely love the variety in this album. Most artists pump one a full album that sounds like the same song . x.x
Thank you, Bret. Awesome trilogy!
