3:35 don't forget about the Gúta from halo reach they look about to be the same size
I feel like the Guta is the spiritual successor of the Drinol
@bl4ckw1ngz64 they do look really similar
2:56 The Frog Elites.
1:07 Master Chief is still considered a cyborg. There's even a chapter named "A.I. Constructs and Cyborgs First!", referencing Cortana and MC respectively
All unsc troopers can be considered cyborgs tbh, since they have the neural lace
@@Brandelwyn actually, only officers and naval personnel have neural interfaces
@@saintoliver9276 can you confirm that?
@@Brandelwyn Halopedia: Neural Interface
@@saintoliver9276 was wrong about "laces" but still.
The most basic interface, known as a "neural chip", is implanted in all UNSC military personnel upon activation, but it can be replaced with a more specialized neural lace should the need arise.
343 recently canonized the Slugman. They are now stated as very rare Lekgolo forms used as snipers and scouts when Kig Yar weren’t used.
343 = trash
That’s actually a pretty sick implementation. Better than what I expected from first glance: I thought it was some variant of the Engineers that traded tentacled limbs for a combat suit. The legs of the model here 100% look like CE’s Hunter Lekgolo texture at second glance though.
Nothing 343 says or has done with halo is “canon”
But they probably will never put them in the official gameplay
@@tacohitman4003 🤡🤡🤡
2:15 I wonder if the “slug man” might have been named that because bungie wanted an enemy race that fit the interesting concept of a single enemy actually being made up of a ton of alien worms but just ended up going with the hunters instead.
343 recently canonized them as rare scout and sniper forms of Lekgolo
Fuck what 343 cannonises
And now they're canon as being an alternate hunter form
That's pretty wild. So much of Halo was originally thought up in like 99' - 00' and they're still going back and using old ideas that had to get left on the cutting room floor. Reach in particular has a lot of ideas and concepts that were originally envisioned for Halo CE.
@@PackHunter117even with they made them canon, they probably won’t put them in the official gameplay
"We've never had a biped this large aside from the Mantis."
*The Guta would like a word with you.*
I dont read comments sections so I am sure its been pointed out a hundred times already, but "Cyborg" is what the player in Marathon is referred to and Halo very much was intended to be a spiritual successor to Marathon as everyone knows.
Also because very early on Spartans where supposed to be cyborgs.
Remnants of that can be seen in the first Halo game with the mission intro text saying things like "cyborgs and AIs first" or Cortanas comment on Chiefs "architecture" isnt much different than that of the Autumn.
Reason for that is because Halo story has been pretty much just an afterthought on Bungies part with Gameplay and Art/Game design being the main focus.
E.g see original script for Halo 2s story and how the game accompanying Halo books have basically all but retconned the setting itself.
I mean, Durandal calls you "dumbass" as well.
@@powerflumiominous...
I quite like that look where master Chief has a bit of blue on him
Oh you "quite" like it huh? 😐
Olive and Cobalt combo
@@IONLYKNOWMOVESTHATKILLPEOPLE what, a guy isn't allowed to use the word quite in a sentence?
@@A_Productions bro plays with legos
@@IONLYKNOWMOVESTHATKILLPEOPLE bruh what are you going on about?
Gúta are a gigantic semi-bipedal species native to the planet Reach. 5.9 m compared to the Mantis of 5.7 don't know if they are technically a biped but they definitely look like it. Looks like I'm late and someone else pointed out the flood juggernaut as well
Yes they are bipd's in the tags
Fun Fact: There is also an unusedof Cyborg "gore variant" model.
Would adore these as multipyer skins
Slug man is a robot-hunter worm mix, functioning like an elite
Halo Reach Guta is pretty much the same as a Drinol
The Guta were an homage to the Drinol. The Drinol are Canon in the lore too
@@EspartanicaThey’ve been renamed to Sharquoi though
@@PackHunter117 Actually that was always their name. Drinol and Sharqoi were used interchangeably
1:01 Honestly, I really like this one.
I hope in a future update we can change our halo ce Spartan models for any of the ones from development like the macworld demo armor
Hey, if they added SPI armour as fan service, they'll definitely add the option for the cyborg armour set
I want these as armor options in multiplayer, also playable elites in CE but I digress.
The Slug Man seems to embody multiple aspects that would be recycled in different enemies later on.
The 'slug man' appears to consist of conjoined creatures like the hunter while the overall body shape resembles the buggers that would appear in Halo 2, and I'd imagine the combat role it would've served was much like the jackal - an intermediary enemy between grunts and elites.
They been made canon now but we probably will never see them in the official gameplay to see their full animation and combat.
Execute order 66 4:56
What about the reach guta, is that a biped?
The Drinol is very reminiscent of the Hulk enemy type from the first Marathon game. Perhaps it is from early development when iirc the games were meant to be connected
I dunno what you mean by reminiscent, its literally a hulk from marathon and even shares the species name just spelled slightly differently (they were Drinniol in marathon)
I don't like the elite not having a split jaw, it gives them aweird aura to them
I do not like this elite, it's smug aura mocks me
I like it
When I was little I thought specifically Arby had a normal mouth. Not sure why.
They look like dogs without it, which is funny because sometime they seem kinda doglike in other ways sometimes in the final game.
My question is do grunts, jackels, and hunters have early designs or were they made after the Elites final designs were finished
Good question, I'm wondering this too
The early elite design was put together quickly for the Mac 99 demo, it was basically a placeholder that they knew they were going to replace later. After the demo they were able to take their time so the designs they worked on were pretty much what made it into the final game. There were some minor changes from the early builds like the grunts used to have their armor color on their helmets and the hunter's shield used to be a more rusty red.
Slug man like hey whats up?
Looks like a cool dude to hang out with
The big dude is reminiscent of the monster we fight in Reach on the night level!
3:45 the gúta from reach rivals it, no?
Really cool to see basicly all cut content after all these years only seeing them in bungie post that seem so unreacheble, but now we can even play whit them
The early Chief colors where he matched the marathon cyborg is something I always wanted. Finally
Interesting that those master chief models seem to be very close in color to the ce front box art chief
Correction about the Drinol:The Warden Eternal rivals him in size
sorry we like good games here and forget he existed
you forgot to mention the Gúta from halo reach for large bipedal when you where referring drinol with the mantis
could you do a showcase of the fauna, like the Vulpards, Keelbugs, and the like that were added on the update? Haven't seen them being showcased.
4:00 mans forgot about reach
i appreciate the thought on back smacking them 😂 cool stuff fr
The Drinol seems to be using the grunt anims. Cool.
I could have sworn there was a version of Masterchief I saw from an old screenshot that had a larger cone like backpack, sort of similar to the Grunts, with a nuclear symbol on the back. I think perhaps from one of the builds where Halo was a third person game? Cyborg 02 is pretty close but not quite the same.
@Gneralkidd what about the Guta that was pretty big id say that is the next closet thing in size to Drinol
The drinol has been canonized as the sharkoi and were once used in an attempt to stop the flood by the forunners
I think the slug man eventually turned into the Drones in the later games after Bungie revisted the character design. The silhouette is uncanny.
If anyone’s read Halo:Envoy, the Drinol is another name for the Sharquoi.
Lets goooo
The mega mantis is most certainly bigger lol things a beast to play with
3:40 What about the Guta from Halo Reach? Or is the Guta noticeably smaller, what do you think?
I remember being deathingly afraid of those dudes as a kid
Why does it look like a cat on the back of the elites legs ( or maybe a walrus)
slug man just looks like an engineer with mechanical limbs
Interesting they gave chief a shoulder mounted rocket launcher which i assume cant be used unless you mod it
Iirc, there are/were rocket pickups for the original AR, so it's possible that the same rockets could be used like grenades from the shoulder mount
You missed the h2 variant of the 99 mac Cyborg. The only difference is that it is missing the shoulder mounted missile launcher
You forget the dino like creatures from Halo Reach
Would love a Halo CE Forge mode, even though there is still Halo CE (Custom Edition) it would be so nice to forge CE on console, not to mention forge AI.
You were made my childhood
I wonder what a size comparison between the drinol And the guta From halo reach would look like
what about those river monsters in reach they where similar in size no?
Home the Slugman gets put into a future game, smaller version of the hunters and the Drinol.
Slug man is a drone
The team worked on MCC desserves to make the H3 Anniversary
They understand what’s a real Halo game.
I'm very glad the Elite we got in CE wasn't like the unreleased version tbh
Hmm this is interesting, the master chief and elites that Bungie went with for the final release of the game are def the best. but it is interesting to see the evolution of them for sure.
I guess the Guta doesn't exist? That is bigger than the Drinol.
someone is gonna make a mod with this shit
Altehros has been modding with these characters recently.
Should be added to Rubys Rebalanced

Where are the space worms?
Slug man is definitely a jackal or atleast a different version of one
nah it seems more like a flightless drone to be honest
@GGG_gaming fair I was just going off of the Animations, exactly the same as a jackal
@@darksamiri4304 odds are they changed the model to the jackal and later used the model/concept art as a start point for buggers
what were to happen if these characters were actually included..?
You should work for 343.
Jesus Christ mate, stand still for 5 seconds.
Drinol, he so cute
Wouldn't the guta from reach or the juggernaut from halo 2 be as big or bigger?
So I wonder if we're going to get spawnable squad AIs in Halo 1 2 and 3/4. Of course there is fire fight for the other games. But that's not the same thing as forge spawn bots without the official mod tools. And CE needs custom campaign i guess but 2 3 4 port forwarding from the mod tools should likely be tested. I want the reach plasma rifle spawn in halo 4 because the storm rilfe isn't balanced with the AR. It's more like the saw if the shield eating & emp noob combo is over done by skilled ranked agro toxicins harrassing the social playlists.
So how about a whole different loadout in custom games!?
This is exactly why I don't spawn plasma pistols everywhere.
Because AI's don't noob combo like playable elites or Halo infinite bots.
Did you forget the Guta in halo reach??? That's a bipd m8
The video being sped up and slowed down at random made this really hard to watch, even if the information was interesting, it hurt my eyes a bit.
🤨5:33
I am the 666th like. And they need to add these into the campaign somewhere so console players can encounter them.
