Historic Minardi Day 2018 - Tyrrell P34, Zonda Revolucion, Ferrari 126 C4 M, Mercedes F1 W04 & More!

- The 2018 Historic Minardi Day is the third edition of this event, born in 2016 in order to celebrate the Minardi F1 team after 10 years from its last F1 season. Now it's more like a two-days motorsport festival where old Formula cars could "stretch their legs" on track together with GT race cars, prototypes and supercars.
I'm really impressed by the quality of cars and automotive jewels took part at the event divided in various groups and sessions on track. From some historic F1s like a 1977 six-wheeled Tyrrell P34, the 1984 Ferrari 126 C4 M ex Alboreto from the turbo era and even the 2013 Mercedes F1 W04 (Mercedes F1 team that was officially at the event with a 2016 W07 too), to a few iconinc Lucchini prototypes gathered for the Memorial Lucchini. Even a few GT and touring cars were present such as a Ferrari F430 GTC/GT2, a Maserati MC12 Corsa or a quite rare Renault 21 Turbo Europa Cup car.
And if this was not enough some of the Italian car manufacturers were there too offering to fans and public hot laps in the passenger seats of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, Lamborghini Huracan Performante, Pagani Huayra BC and many other supercars!

Hi Bozzy. Well, I've watched this one twice now and it's still not enough. If there was an automotive heaven, I'm pretty sure it would look and sound like this. Beautiful cars in their element at full song just can't be beat! That "cottonwood fluff" made for a gorgeous, otherworldly scene, but it must have wreaked havok on all the heat exchangers (and allergy sufferers). The awesome garage footage, unique groupings of cars, and screaming flybys, this one had it all!🙌 Fantastic editing again, my friend! Hope you are well and have a wonderful day. Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the double check and for the always great comment! :) Never expected to see all these great cars in just a 15-days time at the same track (Motor Legend Festival a few weeks ago and this) :OO Talking about the poplar fluff, well yes I was thinking the same about how much of it get into the intakes and radiators. But since this wasn't a race but just a set of 20 minutes sessions maybe the problem wasn't very relevant. Here in Monza there's a similar problem with leaves in autumn... It ran from 1976 to 1977, pretty fast the whole way through and won a few races in its time but then FIA banned 6 wheelers, Williams and March also made 6 wheelers at the same time in reaction to the Tyrell but they never raced.

Io son davvero sorpreso e contento del fatto che nell'arco di 15 giorni in due eventi distinti a Imola si son viste delle macchine che, come hai citato tu, a malapena a Goodwood sono presenti. Vedremo nei prossimi anni

Wow I never heard of it but it does sound like an amazing event. Out of curiousity so now it's become "all historics can go" event? And does STR sent any presence there? Given they are descendant of Minardi.
Ifan Ramadhana yeah, amazing event, I was there and I can tell you that STR was there too, they just brought 2 cars (2007 and 2017) that stood in a garage all day long unfortunately
Peter Russo Yeah I look for it online, this year they got Bottas and Mercedes instead. Pretty awkward I guess since STR is based in Italy and Mercedes comes all the way from their base in UK for this.
More or less, yes, that's correct. The event is divided into various car groups that alternate on track during the day (2 session per group). this year there were 6 groups:
- Club (for supercars and road legal cars)
- Historic Touring cars
- Prototypes + GTS
- a group for little Formula cars (F. Super Vee, Formula Abarth, Formula Ford etc)
- GP3 and F3
- F1, GP2, F3000 or any major Formula car
