- Truck is a 2021 Ford F250 4x4 diesel extended cab with an 8’ (244cm) bed.
Camper is a 2023 Four Wheel Project M
Cat is named Rusty (he doesn’t come on every trip)
I have camped nearly all my life in various forms from motorhomes, truck campers, tents, tarps, mostly the last few years has been in the back of a pickup up with a canopy (topper) on it.
My last canopy I got was a Leer DCC 36” height which had a ton of room in it especially since my truck bed is 8’ (244 cm). I built it into a nice little camping set up that served me quite well. After a while I decided during some of the colder winter temps it would be nice to stand up inside so I began to start looking for a camper again.
I knew I didn’t want a big one with all the fancy stuff, I want simple and low clearance so I was deciding between an Alaskan and a Four Wheel Camper Project M. I ended up going with the Four Wheel for a few reasons, mainly price, simplicity and I want to build my own interior.
So here is the first trip in the new camper.
Here is a link to the video when I stayed at this spot in my previous camping set up.

Nice start. Will be interested to see how your build goes. I've been looking at Atlas, Oru, Hiatus for F150. They are pricey. Alaskan is nice but need 3/4 to 1 ton and is really pricey.
Thanks. There’s quite a few options out there depending on budget and willingness to build out. I’m making my build up as I go along so it may change depending on how it works out.
Fantastic! I have been considering a Project M. On the list anyway. Good stuff! Bruce and Otis
Thanks Bruce. I’m hoping it will be a fantastic adventure rig.
Nice area,I've been considering the project m for awhile. Like your kitty and your 2×4 to move canopy, hah I'll definatly be trying that one.
Thanks. Yeah the 2x4 trick works good as long as there’s no wind. Definitely try to find a used camper before buying new. I wanted low profile roof for the brushy roads and I’m impatient but I probably could have saved some money if I’d just got an older used slide in camper. The Project M has been good so far but if I had to do it again I’d search hi and low for a used one or a used Alaskan Camper.
Yep, a slide in is much better insulation, especially for your winter challenges😂,on the edge bro,BE Safe!
@@tonygulick9289 yup. Hard side and slide in will provide better insulation but be heavier.
@@scottalpineIf you’re looking to sell, I’m local.

Definitely an epic view from that location. Kudos on the new pop top camper shell.
Thanks! It’s going to get a lot of use.
Nice upgrade!
Thanks. It’s been a game changer.
Awesome spot!
Thanks! Fantastic view from there.
