  • A rare sight! Two PZL-104 Wilgas fly in formation during an air to air photo flight with a stop at KJXN for lunch. These aircraft, flown by a husband and wife, are based near Mason, Michigan. The photo ship was a Cessna O-1 Bird Dog from the Sandhill Soaring Club.
Thank you to the pilots for flying for us!

Great video, beautiful landscapes just like in Poland in Mazovia. The Wilgi 35A are beautiful, painted in military colors, there is also a white and red checkerboard and the emblem of Poland with a white eagle. This marriage duo looks beautiful in flight. Please greet this couple. The work of the star engines in a duet is very pleasant and unforgettable. Greetings and congratulations to the producer of this video, great movie.

Meh, I deliberately avoided draco to see stock radial and other setup of the plane. That red plane is too much mentioned, crash and everything. I think he's rebuilding another.. btw what is the camera man flying in ?

oh. love those. I live in Leszno. when I was a kid i saw Wilga`s many times. they were station on our airfield and usually were used as a gliders assist takeoff planes. beauties. now they were replaced by other planes, but childhood memories comes back with this video. :) sound of a AI-14RA piston engine is incredible.

Really happy to still see them fly quite often in poland. They are now mostly used as tow-airplanes here, but the polish Border Guard still uses the newer PZL-104MA 2000 variants!

Wonderful! I flew one here in Switzerland. Got broken by taxiing. I really miss her. We tried to get another one in eastern Germany but business with these guys is lottery.

The Poles made Wilgas in response to the Soviet Yak-12, and were mainly used for towing gliders.

I’ve always thought the Wilgas were excellent machines for turning fuel into noise. A bit of a quirky, oddball thing but I do kinda like them.

Like the A-10, the Storch, the Stuka, a unique kind of ugly that speaks to the very specific missions the aircraft was designed to perform.

This plane was designed by a guy who dealt with helicopter design on a daily basis. This can be seen, for example, in the shape of the hull. In my opinion, it is a beautiful plane. He has something in him. And thanks to the properties of a short take-off and charging and the simplicity of construction, it reminds me of such a flying Jeep Willis... 😁
