When I was younger my family and I would go to long beach to this spot where when the tide was low we could dig these clams up. Kind of funny that my brother said he missed eating these since we haven't gone and caught any for a couple years now and you make a video on them.
I love to throw onion, garlic , 2 lemon halves and celery in a pot with the clams and just enough water to barely cover them. Steam and when opened, ladle up a bowl of clams with the broth and a big hunk of fresh french bread. Num...
Order some Brady's Oysters from Aberdeen, WA. We are known for our oysters/seafood out here best in the world. Also try to find some Varnish Clams from out here in Washington.
Any chance we can get some real time reactions? Love your videos, but hearing your voice from this video of you trying it, it has left me with an itch that needs scratching. All the best
Questionable clam put in a bowl of water if they float toss them. As to better than east cost,? Na buddy. East cost steamers, cherry stones, oysters muscles are top notch.
I grew up on the Navesink river outside my back door, 50 years. Walking the waters, fishing clamming and crabbing since I was knee high to a bottle of gin. Shellfish don’t float like a bobber if they’re dead and full of gas. They will be “lighter” sitting in sink of water. alive shellfish sink to the bottom faster/harder. More clams will pop open but time to time a cherry stone or a chowder clam will be dead with a shells closed tighter then a bullfrogs ass. As well as piss and razor clams will float when they are dead.
If a clam is just super slightly open you can knock it on the table or counter and if it closes itself it's OK to eat.
Or you can smell them if its fishy they bad if they smell like the ocean they good
Different texture different taste and also delicious
Different texture, different flavor, equally delicious
Love these clams.
Thank you for finally doing clams.❤
I miss the steamers on LI... The Manila clams are ample here and hit just fine as well. They don't break the bank either.
These are one of my favorites to forage while im out shucking oysters on the beach, steamed in white wine with hot sauce they are great
I’d like to see: Razor clam, steamers, east coast lobster, uni from both coasts, and lastly I really wanna see you cook fish
I fish right next to where these clams are from constantly, glad to see you trying them. Next try our oysters and Dungiess 🦀
Cherrystones from Mass. I know they will be the best. Always have been
Mass Cherrystones are definitely top tier 💯
Mass Cherry stones you can eat them just all by ourselves you don't need nothing and the clam broth makes great chowder

Hog island oyster co is 🔥
So all oyster/clams from the West Coast are the same? Like Washington and California?
Not sure 🤷♂️
No way❤
Steamers are the best or soft shell clams from the NorthEast .
I just add fresh squeeze lemon to a living moving clam in its shell and eat it!
Pismo clams make sense to anyone? They are one of the best I tried and bigger in size. Manila clams is just as good

What does umami mean bruh I always hear people use it😊
It describes the deep, savory flavor you think of when you think meat, Worcester sauce, MSG
Idk why but clams never looked appetizing to me, then again oysters aren’t exactly pretty so imma give it a try…
Honestly, most seafood looks unappetizing but tastes great and kind of similar
If you like oysters you’ll definitely like clams
Will you marry me?????
Use actual sea water and not normal. Something about the water they come from makes them better to a lot of people.
Bro you doing okay??????
Your hands are looking a little clammy
I'm kinda worried
Making my mouth water!!!! So uncool loll
😂😂
Just rename your channel to the "shellfish king" .
These are just screaming for a little butter and white wine! Linguine alle vongole!

No clam is going to float, regardless if it's fresh or not
@@livingintheLight. a dead uncooked clam, oyster will float in a bowl of water. Not all dead clams will open.
@@mikez7842 I have lived on a river full of clams and oysters my entire 40 years, and never have I seen either one float

Why not just eat that s*** on bread cuz that's all you can taste if you did that in the state of Maine you'd get your ass kicked
What a lie
