I'm autistic and I'm happy to see people like Don Powell doing good causes for autism. I was lucky enough to meet him when he did a book signing in Liverpool.
As underrated as a drummer as Mick Tucker. Top notch drummers and overlooked for whatever reasons. Their playing inspired countless drummers since the 70's.
Thing is, Slade encapsulated my youth at the time when teenagers come of age. When I was discovering rock, girls and life was burning at its strongest. Slade amongst other bands created the soundtrack of my life. Whenever I was out and about Slades music was in the background. And you know they were just lads like us common as muck with hearts of gold. Black Country lads just like me. God bless all of you.
Don he lives in my neighbourhood 5 houses down, we have come across him a couple times when we were walking our dog. He lives in denmark silkeborg hattenasvanget.

I was at the Slade Rewind To The 70s gig, I met Don Powell and he ended up giving me a set of his drum sticks as a gift
Don is a legendary drummer. A real nice guy too might I add.
I am convinced that DP is maybe the nicest rock and roll drummer ever.
he's one of the nicest men I've ever met, drummer or not..
I never met him but what you said is certainly the impression I get.
Then again, all interviews I've ever seen with Slade they all seem to me like good guys.

I thought he was in a car accident and had total amnesia?
He was and he did. He had to re learn all of the songs! Gradually he regained his memory, I don't know if it came back 100% but pretty close I think.
Amazing in itself. Thanks -
Bryan Mclellan It certainly is amazing! you're welcome Bryan.
