@@Rainner_Von_Kessel I've seen other Elin vids that keep using AI generated pixelart that doesn't match the game's style or topic and they've been driving me up the wall. Worth mentioning that the Detector, made in the Machining bench, allows you to search for any block on the map with a certain name or tag. I personally use it to find statues in overworld areas. You can set it to "statue" and it'll find altars and God statues (it'll beep when there's something). I haven't tried it, but I'm fairly sure you can use it for mining too. Honestly a god tier item to keep on you, and you get the recipe from Nora at Palmia (trade for influence). An important note: you NEED to hold the item in your hands to make it work. It doesn't work in your backpack.
The easiest way to get fibers, which isn't mentioned in this video (but I think might have been in the crafting system/hammer video) is to use your hammer on the garbage that spawns in your base. Black garbage give paper fiber, white garbage gives plastic fiber. One big benefit of weaving is the ability to create Trunks and Backpacks. They are lightweight, have 30 item slots, and can go in your container slots. They need textures, raw skins, bolts from the blacksmithing table, and a tight rope. You can see Kessel has a backpack equipped in this video, but he is still using packages/purses as well, so I'm not sure he knows you can make them or has found the recipe.
Silk from cobwebs in caves is also good to get some of. Beds made with silk have a bed comfort trait that increases their effectiveness and the amount tourists will pay for lodgings. Silk bandages also heal much more than bandages of other fibres.
@@hats1642 Silk is good at start, but you really want to cultivate cotton (the only place to get seeds afaik is to reap cotton growing at the merchants guild) so you can get the max lv 7 comfort. One of the easiest sources of fiber/ textile is dungeons, collect the cobwebs for silk that you can spin into thread, craft into texture, then craft into pouches that have 20 slots so you can replace your free cardboard package boxes lol
If I could add a couple of useful tidbits - your processing stations (like sawmill) get faster the more levels you have in their related skill - you can use a hammer on a stack of crafted items to get some/most of the resources back depending on the item. This levels the crafting skill regardless of what skill was used to make the base item - your hammers hardness and crafting skill determine the maximum hardness of items you can break apart (to get those sweet ether crystals from dismantling moongates from Nino) Some useful crafting recipes that are easy and give most of the resources back are: - weaving: texture hammers to string - blacksmith: bolts hammer to scrap - cooking: bread hammers to flour. Either find bones or make copper nails and hammer to bones, grind bones at mill, make bread - the best I've found for carpentry are small windows but those only give about 50% of items back - crafting: nails hammer to bones, but you will also get a good bit of exp from hammering items while leveling other skills

Your sleep quality does affect your chance of getting new recipes, this includes good beds, indoor (probably) and the heavy sleeper feat. However, you can only come up with recipes that are within your crafting/carpentry/blacksmith skill level. The Ehekatl bodypillow allows you to come up with recipes that require higher level than your current skills, and also increase the chance of acquiring recipes when sleeping.
