Excellent advice. I wish i found this before i got back on the ice, the result is that i pulled my left leg hamstring 10 minutes into a pick up game....LOL!!! my own stupid fault..
It really depends on your level of play - training experience, age, etc. A good place to start if you are 14 or older is the 10 Secret Habits Of Pro Goalies playlist here on my channel.
Yes, you can - but if you have been using your synthetic ice consistently over the last few months, then you don't really need to do this since you are getting the adaptation when you skate.
After only 2 seasons of ball hockey my hips hurts. During off season everything is all right. I restarted yesterday only a practice. I stretched before and after and this morning my hips hurts. Is there something to do with it? Or when it starts to hurt its already too late? Thanks! Keep up the good content by the way! 😁
Do you do specific training during your off-season so your hips have the mobility they need to play the position? If not, that is probably a major cause, but you should also get your hips evaluated by a sport physio to see if there are any underlying issues.
Hi maria.. so I've been working the butterfly challenge.. but... I've been in constant and decently intense sciatic pain for about 7 weeks or so due to my SI being locked for about 3 weeks before I saw a chiropractor. Now I'm on week 4 of once a week treatments, and with the last two he did acupuncture... Now I'm finally getting to see an rmt tonight but I'm wondering if you know of things I can do to help also?? And I'm not sure with this type of injury, if rest is best or if I should keep working it and how intense.. once I'm loose and moving, I'm pretty good for the most part.
The number one thing is to avoid doing anything that makes it feel worse or irritate it. But beyond that, you are doing the right thing by seeking treatment - make sure you are doing the exercises that your chiropractor has been giving you and then I would ask him/her about other training you should or should not do based on their assessment. I don't want to guess at what's going on. I hope that helps.

Oh dear... it has happened a lot unfortunately. Hopefully it wasn't too serious and you will make a speedy recovery.
@@goalietraining hopefully it will be back to normal in about 1 more week. but believe me it won't dissuade me from playing, love the sport!
@@danjohnson5955 Yeah, don't let it dissuade you - but maybe add in some mobility training.
I’ve taken a lot inspiration from you and Trav. Really appreciate your content it has helped me immensely thank you!
Happy to help Kris - just look for little ways to get better every single day.
Hey Maria. How about us old guys that don't use the RVH?
Then I guess you can leave out the RVH patterns and do everything else in the video. Maybe the two pad stack at the end :)

Thank you for the video, I loved it!! Since I have synthetic ice, should I put on my skates too and do these drills in the video?
Yes, you can - but if you have been using your synthetic ice consistently over the last few months, then you don't really need to do this since you are getting the adaptation when you skate.

Good stuff as always Maria. Is beer leaguers are going to need some extra time for sure, since we will likely just jump into games.
I think everyone who hasn't had access to a slideboard or synthetic ice is going to need extra for sure.
