While I dont love every fragrance from Zoologist, I highly respect the house for doing such a great job in really trying to capture the spirit of the animals the scents are named for and inspired by. My faves are Macaque Yuzu, Chameleon, Bee, Elephant, and Penguin but I appreciate several more. I've been looking forward to this video!
I have Zoologist Rabbit and it’s a masterpiece, I smile every time I smell it. Truly sipping tea and eating biscuits with honey in a crisp meadow( not a sharp grass accord)
Your comment about the 13 year-olds going crazy for these made me laugh. I find that so hard to imagine considering how unusual and niche these are. I find it hard to believe many kids that age would have a palate sophisticated enough to appreciate most of these. Thank you for reviewing these fragrances! Zoologist is in my top five favorite houses - I adore their scents, even if I wouldn’t wear all of them. Camel, Civet, Moth, Bat, Sloth, and Chipmunk are my favorites. Snowy Owl, Musk deer, and Trex are also pretty great. Dodo is the only one that made me feel a bit ill, but I was still impressed. It painted a vivid image of a large nesting ground of the birds - plants, rocks, bird poop and all!
My guess is that the concepts are sort of intriguing to kids because most perfumes have concepts that don’t speak to their experiences but everyone knows what a Panda is.
11:40 I'm pretty sure the reason why the perfumer (Sultan Pasha) chose a 1920's structure of aldehydes/florals/chypre it's due to a hommage to Guerlain Djedi (1927) which also refers to ancient Egypt, and the 1920's were an important revolution period for Egypt too so I think it makes sense they chose to follow that line
omggg the excitement I felt when you said rotting leaves!! i've been looking for a decomposing leaf fragrance because it's the most beautiful to me; so nostalgic, like jumping in the leaf piles as a kid. will have to try northern cardinal, tyty!
Love how nuanced and knowledgeable the whole description is , the passion really comes through and made really appreciate the complexity or layers behind perfume as a concept. It almost seemed artistic and not just soulless commercial stuff! Or something along those lines for a passive consumer of the perfume industry!!
as a 'girl that likes to thrift' - i just got a sample of Moth and I LOVE it ! Snow Owl an Penguin are also so so interesting to me, and Zoologists concept is just 100% my thing, like exactly what I've been looking for. Really enjoyed this video!!
SO EXCITED FOR THIS SERIES!!! I absolutely adore this house and everything they do is just pure art, even if my nose disagrees. The ones I purchased as full bottles were Bat, Chameleon, Harvest Mouse, Cow and Rabbit. I was a bit saddened with Scarab that they did not lean more into the antiquity of the ambers, incense and wine... This is one I wanted to love but was a miss for me. I definitely need to check out Squid as this is the only want missing from my list... I can't wait to hear your opinions on the rest of the house! You have a beautiful way with words and your descriptions are perfect imagery of what these scents are trying to capture. Wonderfully done 🖤
I'd love to see these ranked in terms of wearability! Because I think we can all agree they're all very creative and unique. Looking forward to part 2!
I’m new to you channel, but I really appreciate how you reviewed these. Looking forward to part 2. I’ve smelled a good many of the Zoologist line up. I own TRex and Chameleon and I’m interested in travel sprays of Moth and Elephant.
I love the idea of the brand and I LOVE the artwork on the packaging! This was such a fun review and I'm looking forward to part 2. So far I've tried Bat, Elephant, Panda, and Bee. The first three were too skanky or sharp for me, but Bee is so so stunning, it smells like thick honey, beeswax and wildflowers. Incredibly potent too! I was always afraid of actually attracting bees when I wore it haha
I can see the rankings now… wearable, okay but not for me, and hell to the no. I am so glad I got samples of the Zoologists ones I was intrigued by and not blind bought because they are specific, unique and not for everyone. I think a lot of them do much better in colder weather though so definitely try them in the fall and winter.
I'm dying to get my hands on cow, it sounds amazing from the fragrance notes listed, unusual in the best way. Can't believe how small they are, just the perfumer and a shop assistant from what I understand
Cow is my favorite scent! It smells just like a beautiful meadow where cute cows nap. I wish it projected a little stronger, but it makes me so happy and instantly brightens my day (*¯︶¯*)
I was trying to wait until I was in Toronto to smell them in their show room, but a few weeks ago I gave in a got a sample of rabbit because I love carrot cake, and I do totally get that vibe 😋 it's pretty dense but it might be totally fine in the colder months
I own about half of the house in sample sizes, I'm looking to eventually collect the rest and maybe the retired scents for fun! It's genuinely my favorite house and although I may not wear all the scents I still want to eventually try them! The only ones I own in travel sizes are dragonfly and hummingbird, hopefully I'll get cow and king cobra next 😍
OOO!!! So excited, breaking the house up into two parts was smart. There are soo many perfumes, but the variety is really nice! I feel like the brand really knows how to capture the essence of the animal, Victor and the perfumers work hard to take everything into account for each animal and I love it. I enjoy all their fragrances for their uniqueness but I particularly favor Panda, Macaque Yuzu, Dodo Jackfruit, Cow, Hummingbird (my signature) and dragonfly (my summer signature). I really want to get king cobra 🥺 it's scent notes appeal to me so much!
I bought a sample of Penguin by them and I loved it! Their fragrances are all meant to be unisex but I found Penguin to be really masculine and refreshing!
😂 I'm commenting so much which is so funny, dodo is being discounted because dodo jackfruit just smells better and sells better I'm fairly sure. Also would adore a ranking of all of them but I would wait until orchid mantis comes out next year!
Absolutely!! I tried to be more harsh with my rankings bc whenever I say “I love it!” my followers will go blind buy them😫😫 it happened on Tiktok so Im trying to find a way to navigate reviewing these !!
ooo i have been waiting for this video! I have zoologist Rabbit and Dragonfly and i really like them, i might get Panda, but i need to test it more i think
So far I have only tried Harvest Mouse (discovered it from your tiktok video) and I loved it, definitely thinking about a whole bottle. The brand is soo interesting though, true niche experience in my opinion
I'm so glad you found a fragrance that interests you! Harvest Mouse is the most "commercial"/ '"palatable" so I have heard- the beer note is super interesting. Definitely a niche experience sampling all of these!!
I tried the Bee fragrance and it was soooo overwhelming, it taught me a lot about perfume notes i dont like. I work with bees so i love the smell of bee hives, the honey, the wax, the smoke, bee propolis, etc. I love the smell that stays on my bee suit. But i couldnt enjoy the perfume at all. Super interesting experience.
I've been meaning to get more Zoologist samples but I own Squid, which I bought a couple years ago with a friend on a trip to NYC. I absolutely love that fragrance, it's such an easy wear while being unique. I don't like incense or marine notes but somehow Squid is perfect for me, and I never would have thought to try it if I hadn't been in a physical store. It makes me feel...put together isn't exactly it but it makes me feel good and confident. I remember trying Cow and that it was a very pleasant scent but I want to try everything. I think Zoologist is an interesting house and I love the concepts and especially the artwork on the bottles.
So here's the thing about Rhinoceros, you have to put some on and let it sit on your skin for 10-20 minutes. At least for me, that massively changed the scent. I too HATED how it smelled on a strip and I was so disappointed, because I was so excited for it. BUT... I put some on to see if it would smell different once on and for sure did. Now it's one of my favourite scents. It certainly isn't a scent for everyone, but for anyone on the fence, I'd give it a shot. But just be warned it does not smell great if you only smell it from the bottle.
I am so excited about this series of reviews! I have been following Zoologist since 2020 and own a couple of them (bee and snowy owl). This house has fragrances that have the biggest swing of notes, in my opinion. There are ones that I absolutely love the opening, but the dry down has me gagging. Super interesting house, always keeps you guessing. I wish they would try an "everyday" animal... like what would their idea of a house cat smell like? I am thinking solar notes for lounging in sunbeam, but also dusty notes for hiding under beds. Or what would horse smell like to them? They would have to go beyond carrots, hay, and leather; those are too predictable. Just thoughts... I'm looking forward to yours on the rest of the line! Will you do this for other houses? (I would love to know your thoughts about Imaginary Authors and Kerosene)
I was recently bought Rabbit, and was telling my husband they need to come out with a Sphynx cat! I own a Sphynx and it would be so interesting to see their interpretation of the earthy almost mushroom/soil scent of the cat’s skin with their interpretation of their environment.
My best friend bought me a sample size of Bee way before I liked perfumes and as an average person, the smell of honey was so warm. One of my favorite scents.
The thing I love the most about Zoologist is the perfume Bat was reformulated and re-released in 2020 🙌😂😂 the timing of this re-release!!! Haven't checked if you've sampled it yet (just started watching!) but to me, Bat is basically: Figs + $h!t in a hay barn
So far I have tried bee, panda, elephant, dragonfly, hummingbird, seahorse, squid, moth, nightingale, koala, snowy owl, harvest mousse, chipmunk, chameleon, civet, camel and rabbit. My favourite was bee, while squid made me really nauseous.
Scarab feeling/smelling 1920's would be to tie it into Egyptomania as Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered in that decade and there was a huge craze for everything Egyptian.
I tried moth from zoologist and it was the first time I actually felt sick and disgusted from a perfume. It smells like being in the emergency room at a hospital to my nose. I hate it.
I got the sample set too. I needed to spray it on my skin because i didn’t like any of them on the little paper thing. Some of the ones i loved on me were Seahorse, Squid, Bat, Chameleon, Camel, Snowy Owl, and Dragonfly
i'm so picky with fragrance (my nose can really only stand super sweet fruity scents and gourmands lol) so i haven't tried any zoologist perfumes since they all seem out of my comfort zone, but they're sooooo intriguing to me
Just this week I tried Musk Deer, Dodo, Moth, and Snowy Owl and it's a good thing that I TRIED them first because ... I can't! I don't get it at all. They're too strong, too heavy, too syrupy, too stinky. Dodo smells like body odor. My dog wouldn't come near me after one spray of Moth and my husband thought Musk Deer smelled like Nag Champa. I threw them all away. They made my throat itchy.
I was wonderwing eith the dragonfly what kind of rice you smell? Because I love the silky smell of freshly cooked warm wet rice and also rice water and I can imagine it fitting well with florals. Or is it like a dry harsh rice grain smell?
It is not posted yet! I do however have a whole playlist on them on TikTok! If you need something to tie you over you can check here: www.tiktok.com/@perfumerism/playlist/zoologist-7291216845641124613?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc
Totally correct! I noted this the second I posted this video, however unfortunately cannot go back and un-say the false info... as much as I wish I could. Thank you for educating me and wishing you the best day!

Harvest Mouse❤
would love to see more of "trying perfumes from 1 brand"
I have Zoologist Rabbit and it’s a masterpiece, I smile every time I smell it. Truly sipping tea and eating biscuits with honey in a crisp meadow( not a sharp grass accord)
Yessss i have this one too!! I totally get a buttery scent from it- like a cookie butter or something!
Your comment about the 13 year-olds going crazy for these made me laugh. I find that so hard to imagine considering how unusual and niche these are. I find it hard to believe many kids that age would have a palate sophisticated enough to appreciate most of these.

Yes! Me too.
Love how nuanced and knowledgeable the whole description is , the passion really comes through and made really appreciate the complexity or layers behind perfume as a concept. Hello 😊. Cobra 🐍 actually in venomous and not a constrictor ✌🏻
LOLL that shows how much I know about animals! Thank you!!
Dragonfly smells stunning to me! It actually leaves me speechless. Somehow it feels simple but unique and comforting 💜
I'd love to see these ranked in terms of wearability! Because I think we can all agree they're all very creative and unique. Looking forward to part 2!
I find the art work on the bottles amazing in the cutest possible way!
I’ve tried a few but the only one that was wearable for me was Hummingbird! A great spring scent, and it lasts an eternity
I just love how *fun* Zoologist is, every scent is so different!
LOVE Zoologist!! So glad you went on this journey
So looking forward to part 2!! I'm really interested in the cuter animals like Cow, Rabbit, and Harvest Mouse. Love your vids!! 💗
12:44 kobras do not strangle, they bite, and their bites are venomous.
Yes!
I’m new to you channel, but I really appreciate how you reviewed these. Looking forward to part 2. I’ve smelled a good many of the Zoologist line up. I own TRex and Chameleon and I’m interested in travel sprays of Moth and Elephant.
Just FYI, Cobras are one of the most venomous snakes, they're not constrictors so the scent you described is perfect for a cobra.
Yes you are right! Someone clocked this the second I posted this video- completely my bad!
I love the idea of the brand and I LOVE the artwork on the packaging! This was such a fun review and I'm looking forward to part 2. So far I've tried Bat, Elephant, Panda, and Bee. Not only 13 years olds. Goths love moth and bat( old version)
Waiting for part 2 🫡
I couldn’t imagine someone better suited to review them! I’ve been looking forward to it since you showed everything! Thank you!
I'm dying to get my hands on cow, it sounds amazing from the fragrance notes listed, unusual in the best way. Can't believe how small they are, just the perfumer and a shop assistant from what I understand
I LOOOOVE Cow so much 🥰 it makes me feel like skipping through a meadow!
Cow is my favorite scent! It smells just like a beautiful meadow where cute cows nap. I wish it projected a little stronger, but it makes me so happy and instantly brightens my day (*¯︶¯*)

i love watching your videos youre so passionate and intelligent in the way you explain the fragrances! its quite refreshing to see ahah
So excited for part 2! I would love to see a final ranking!
Please do a part two, this was very helpful!

I’ve tried or smelled at least 10 zoologists and my favorite was mouse, zoologist went with the orange and vanilla which are the top notes I pick up
Tyrannosaurus Rex id give to my worst enemy in a heartbeat lol! Rabbit and Penguin are my personal favs but Rabbit I’m OBSESSED!
So far I have only tried Harvest Mouse (discovered it from your tiktok video) and I loved it, definitely thinking about a whole bottle. The brand is soo interesting though, true niche experience in my opinion

I loveee seahorse! Also penguin was my first niche full bottle and I love it too, this video inspired me to spritz some on
Love your descriptions

Omg! Could you do a 1 brand review for imaginary authors? They just released a sample set for their entire collection!
Finally some quality entertainment for my lunch break 🫶🫶🫶🫶

Your cat is so beautiful! 🐈⬛
Thank you, I totally agree! She is an ANGEL. Literally my supermodel
Scarab feeling/smelling 1920's would be to tie it into Egyptomania as Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered in that decade and there was a huge craze for everything Egyptian.
So cool- thank you for telling me this!!
I would love to also see a video on NCP Olfactives!
Not the blurring of the feet! Hahahahahahhaaha
I've tried hummingbird and bee. I'm obsessed with hummingbird, bee is also nice.
I tried moth from zoologist and it was the first time I actually felt sick and disgusted from a perfume. It smells like being in the emergency room at a hospital to my nose. I hate it.

Yess they’re definitely not my type in terms of perfume I like to wear, I look at them like those jelly bean roulette games haha
@@perfumerism LOOOL exactly!! i kinda just wanna try them for the plot
Just this week I tried Musk Deer, Dodo, Moth, and Snowy Owl and it's a good thing that I TRIED them first because ... I can't! I don't get it at all. Can u do the ranking which one do u like most from this brand? 😭
Harvest Mouse 🐭 ❤

haven’t watched any yet but ur the best
The joke about dodo being discontinued💀
Have you seen Sabrina Carpenter has a fragrance coming out this week?
Ooooouuu
I really appreciated the cat break
have you ever tried anything by the brand liis? i’m really interested in this brand!
Ima perfume newb..what is wearable? Is it how intense the scent is? Either way great video!
I've only smelled squid and I love it!
What 13 year old is buying zoologist perfumes?
Harvest Mouse 🐭 ❤
"a little fecal" isn't a scent I'd like to try. 🤢
Five ML from sense split cockatoo and it’s a whoo Nelly😁
where is part 2 ? wanted to see your opinion on Koala !!!
Hope they make a shark perfum
Cobras don't strangle people.
They don’t!
what do you think of florian by gritti thinking about getting that one
You've got the old version of Dragonfly's notes on the screen :)
Thanks for pointing that out!
I had samples of about 5 from Zoology. I bought them for Cockatiel, but I hated most of them including Cockatiel. The only one I liked was Seahorse.
I haven’t tried cockatiel yet! I think maybe we will have similar taste!!
I am waiting for a bearded dragon perfume.
Please make videos on men fragrances
Maybe soon!!
@@perfumerism thank you 😊
How can I find part 2?
It is not posted yet! I do however have a whole playlist on them on TikTok! If you need something to tie you over you can check here: www.tiktok.com/@perfumerism/playlist/zoologist-7291216845641124613?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc
I’m really curious to know why 13 year olds want these now lol. Assuming it has something to do with tiktok.
It has to do with the phenomenon of young boys wanting ultra niche $300 fragrances!
Have you tried Nota Sugar?
Not from this brand but just wondering 😂
I have not!!
My bottle has a huge dent already! Its pineapple upside down cake fruity yogurt in the beast way possible
*I meant ‘best’ but ‘beast’ works too❤
@@MM-cz1dw every review I’ve seen says it’s pretty weak and doesn’t project much 😅
As if it's from Canada and the website has us prices :(
I wanted to like squid so much but it made me feel nauseous, just too salty
that furniture tho
rank pls
I have only smelled T Rex from this brand and it is a big no for me .
That’s the worst one😅😅😅
Apart from the video can you please use the tester strips right you're spraying the perfume on the wrong side
This is a common misconception! ❤️ I’ve worked in fragrance houses and studied perfumery at ISIPCA and you always put the fragrance on the small side!
Cobras are venomous and not constrictors, where did you even get that???
I made it up
I‘m looking for a perfume that smells like a horse.. does anyone know one?
King cobras dont strangle their prey as they use their venom, but anyways great review
Totally correct! I noted this the second I posted this video, however unfortunately cannot go back and un-say the false info... as much as I wish I could.
Thank you for educating me and wishing you the best day!
@@perfumerism I Was actually deciding what zoologist to get and with this vid ive decided to get the king cobra
King Cobra is venomous.
Yes you are correct!
