  • Hi all, welcome BACK to the writing nook! I’d like to formally welcome you with a tour of my writing nook and everything I keep on my writing desk to create a creative atmosphere. I also wanted to chat a little about how I reset my office space from the work week to make it feel cozy and inspiring. Let me know about your writing reset routines and writing desk-must-haves down below!
    T E L L M E A B O U T Y O U
What do you keep in your writing space? Is there anything you can’t write without? Do you have any routine to transition between daily life and your ~creative writing~? Anyone else use cleaning as a transition routing 😂 What do you do to keep yourself sane staying in the same four walls during the pandemic?

Hi everyone!! hope you're all doing well! 💕sorry for my 2-week hiatus - work has been absolutely WILD, but it's good to be back and check-in with you all 😄👩‍💻💕
All the working really inspired me to chat about how I use my space to separate that creative mindset from my work-mindset. do you find it helpful to create a mental separation between daily life and writing? how do you do it in the time of social distancing?

just found your channel, and i love it :)
I think I do find it helpful to create a mental separation between daily life and writing. I would prefer physical separation as well, but since my room is so tiny, gotta work with what I have. To get in the writing zone, I do put on a specific playlist with songs I only listen to when writing!

hi Charlotte - welcome, wonderful to have you here!! :) I totally feel you on wishing for some *physical* separation haha and I so agree, music is such a great transition! I do that too - when I really need to get in the writing mood, I'll put on my book playlist, go on a walk, and then come back ready to write. works like a charm!

haha thank you!! I honestly never did anything cute before quarantine - something about spending ALL OF MY TIME HERE really necessitated some candles and pine cones 😂 would love to see what you do!

    Love the nook! :)
At the end of the working week I shut my work laptop and use my personal laptop for writing (on the couch about a metre away from my work set up). It’s great to have some separation.

yes agreed!! it's really helpful to at least use a *different* computer, even if I'm still staring at a screen haha I also have a little key protector on my personal computer, so typing even feels different than work! separation is so helpful

@@DanicaGray Oooh, the typing feeling different really makes a big difference - that's a great point!

I’m still bingeing your videos from the beginning, but if you haven’t done this already would you be willing to go through the reference/craft books you’re using? If you have done this already, I’m positive I’ll get to it later today. 💕

that’s such a great idea!! I need to do a sort of craft book round up here in the near future. I really love craft books, so I will definitely put that on my to-make list!
