I agree with some things and dis-agree with others. 1st the Vikings were the ones who arrived by boat. They arrived during the 1st year on the wall. I'm not sure if they brought the talisman with them or created them upon arrival. But they needed them because they massacred the Native Americans for the land which caused the cursed in the first place. Check your history, Vikings created and used talisman. My guess is that the infamous Salem witch, Tituba, who I think is the witch from Elgin's dreams will make a formal appearance, 4th season or 5th and lay down the curse!!! Another thing: the totem poles. I'll bet the inhabitants of the spooky town, "took the fight to the demons," as Kenney suggested, chopped off their heads and displayed them for the "other" demons as a warning!! Finally, as Ethan says, "it's a quest". When the riddle is solved, the curse will end!

I liked Jade’s description of this area being like a jigsaw puzzle with only a few pieces…and not even the good pieces, like the corners or the edges. He compared living there to opening a book in the middle and trying to figure out what happened earlier in the first half of the story.
I believe the 47 year cycle is key to understanding how this all works, as you pointed out. I also feel that the log cabins are from the Civil War era, the lighthouse was built in the 1700s, and the dungeon where Boyd found Martin was built in the 1600s.
I think each person plays the same role in each cycle: there is always a person who hears voices (like Sara), there is always a person trying to figure out the meaning of the symbol (Jade, Christopher, and maybe the Union soldier?) I found it interesting that the soldier has one pale eye and in the promo pic for season 3 we see Jade with one pale eye, as well. The man drinking from a human skull is missing an eye, so perhaps it ties to the pale colorless eye?
The map on the walls of the cave and the map drawn with crayon in Victor’s box truck hideaway show the cabins. The cave drawings also show people in canoes, and there is a dugout canoe next to a cabin where Kenny and Jim spent the night.
Someone described the town as being built by somebody who has no knowledge of what a town is. Like they based it on how a town should look from pieced together memories of other people. I always thought that makes sense.
We know that Victor found his mother’s body by the bottle tree. He told Tabitha “This is where I found her. She never made it into the tree…” but I hope Eloise made it to the lighthouse and back to Camden. I firmly believe that the paintings in Henry’s basement are hers.
One other thing I found interesting was when Jade and Tabitha looked over the pictures Eloise had drawn. Jade picked up a paper with a drawing of Civil War soldiers and got excited. He said it was the same thing he’d seen in the forest. He asked “But why would a little girl draw a picture of soldiers?”
Tabitha corrected him, saying “But remember, these are pictures of stories told to them by Victor’s mother.”
Do the stories that people tell one another come to life in the woods? Is the cycle based on the tradition of oral histories passed down from one generation to the next?
    So many unknown questions!

There's no Motel- only the broken sign and ì in the pool. The sign isn't broken in Victor's flashback to when everyone died and the Motel's name was The Star Light Motel.
Something happened between then and the series first episode.
Was there an entire cycle of events and people between the flashback and now?

The rain came when they got the CB radio working and it was like a random micro burst, So those two things seem like someone has control over what happens here. 3. The bracelet Tabatha found in the storage house. Something she made years ago and lost and now in fromville.

And also why the significance of screens about all the crochet materials. Especially when Elgin was talking about his time his grandma in making Owl crochets. I noticed that there is a crochet cover that was in Jade's dream when he first saw the sign in the room while drinking and the crochet in season 3 ep2 trailer when Tabitha is talking to Victor's dad. That same drawing, Victor hurriedly went back to check and look at it again to make sure he was seeing the dog correctly when he was in the forest with Ethan beginning of season 1 ep 2 or 3. Awesome analysis! I’ve noticed that the pictures of children in Henry’s basement often display two sets of kids that look the same. For example, there seems to be two identical boys and two identical girls being “licked” by a giant man with a yellow tongue and trees for teeth. However, one of the “twin” girls and boys looks horrified, and the other ones look more ominous. I think that these two sets of identical children that we see in this (and many other) pictures represent the the separation ritual of the body and soul (like when we saw two Julies, Randalls, and Maris). I also think that that yellow “tongue “ was actually the children’s life force, or soul, being sucked out of them. Finally, the children in the picture with their souls being sucked out looked like they were hanging from strings… like puppets. Maybe once this creature takes their souls, it can control them like puppets. After all, we have seen Christopher’s puppet enough times to know that it contains a deeper meaning.

One thing I noticed as well is that the young Eloise had drawn the civil war soldiers as well. When Victor gave Tabitha the drawings and was crying you can see her drawing of the two soldiers. I was actually wondering why she would draw these. And why would she draw the tower? This is one of the reasons that I believe Tabitha is Eloise because when you look back at ep9 season 1 while digging the basement, why would she suddenly dream of the Tower? And when they were showing the flashbacks you can feel and tell that those might have been when she was a kid when she left to follow her mother. Another thing as well to consider is when Victor stated he always thought these were dreams. What if every time someone sees something in this town thinking they were dreaming (for exam, Jade) What if these were memories of some sort? So far, only Jade Tabitha and Victor have seen the symbol. And so far, only Jade who has a real connection to this symbol.
Something else we could think of as well, what if the people really died and reincarnated then the town choose them again to go over the same cycle. Oof, so many theories LOL. This show is making me so obsessed with it.

Some thoughts for you... There has been talk about food shortage from before Tabitha left. In S03, I'm not sure, but I think Donna says that everything that the storm rain touched has become rotten. Because of that, I'm thinking it's the storm that has spoiled the food and land.
Lastly, the paintings in the basement may be too complex for little Eloise... And there are so many.. So it's either adult Eloise who's painted them, or it was/is Miranda who painted them.
