There’s a tone of great American rock bands that I’ve been into for a long time. But for me, none of them could ever top The Doors. People can say whatever they want about Jim, but these guys were uniquely special.

Singer - Poet, Drummer - Jazz, Organist - Classical, Guitarist - Flamenco/Classical/Rock now, what could possibly go right here! LOL, but it did. I believe Peace Frog is the MOST unique and different song which has ever been recorded - just so original. The Doors have always been my favourite of all time

It was alcohol that really did him in years before the H overdose. 50lbs overweight, a chronic cough, a mean menacing spirit that possessed him when he was drunk. It all culminated in the end of a talented singer and poet.

But Jim did get it treated. Robby also said that once when he was driving and Jim was in the car with him, Jim reached over and yanked the steering wheel and said he was God and was going to eject Robby from the universe! Robby was the youngest in the band and he said it was like he was Jim’s little brother. After Robby said this he said he really liked Jim. Everyone liked Jim.

Jim Morrison is definitely my favorite rock star. I wish he had the power of restraint when it came to sex, drugs and alcohol. That was his downfall. He had it all but alcohol and drugs led to his self destruction. Thank you Jim Morrison for creating the "rock legend " template. I was blessed to see his gravestone in Pere Lachaise in June of 2024. His spirit moved into my soul and I will carry on his and my father's legacy boldly until the day I die. AL HAMDU LILLAH JAMES DOUGLAS MORRISON. ROCK ON.

The Doors are one of the most original Rock bands of all time. They created such a fluid and naturally inspired form of sexual infused music with improvisations and creative freedom of expression. Their music is timeless and still creates a desire into their mythical and well documented history especially Jim Morrison. He had only 5 years to create a lasting memory in the minds of world and he certainly accomplished this in spades. Unfortunately for him the weight of that, as is for most people, too hard to handle and the use of drugs and alcohol a necessity to cope with the level of fame that is very hard to comprehend. The influence of the wrong type of crowds can exasperate this. Jim was simply a young open minded artist that got lost in the glitz of the music industry and his unwillingness to adjust made him make unwise and obtuse decisions about his health and future. In the end it is all written and talked about in countless documentaries. Unfortunately he lost his battle with his demons and in the process left a short wealth of original created poetry and music that will be adored forever ✌🏽♥️

As a long time fan of the Doors, I appreciate hearing the perspectives of those around at the time or at least directly relevant to the situation.
I can really do without the two cents of someone who thinks that they can narrate the subject just because they've read a book or an article or two about the subject.
Was I alive when the Doors and Morrison were touring and recording?
No, but you don't see me making documentaries about it like my point of view means something.
It's really just the same story again with someone else acting like they know the first thing about these matters.
It's just tired and lazy at this point.

I'm a definite fan of The Doors, I'm also a criminal psychology major who's also a definite fan of being brutally honest and unfortunately Jim Morrison was just a stupid, immature, idealistic kid who never had the chance to finally grow up and learn just how The World worked. Like most arrogant "kids", and for all intents and purposes he was just a kid, he thought he knew it all and never had the time to grow out of that rebellious petulant child phase of growing up. I think towards the end he may have been coming around but by then those damned addictions had a hold on him, not to mention that keeping company with addicts isn't the best thing to do either........and so it goes. I'm sure his father was one of those men who should've NEVER had children and I'm also pretty sure that Morrison's life with his father was a lot like the Robert Duvall movie "The Great Santini"😢

Pretty wild that there was no autopsy for someone of Jim's age and fame. Usually when someone young dies there's an autopsy no matter what pretty much. Just that fact alone is usually enough to warrant one. It's also probably that same fame why there wasn't one though.

He did have an apparent overdose from it but that was 2 nights before he died. I truly believe from all I’ve read that Jim had a heart attack possibly caused by a blood clot. There are videos about Jim’s last days. I’ve watched- listened to several.

Also famous people saying they hated being famous is so unjustified. JIM MORRISON WANTED TO BE FAMOUS BUT WHEN HE GOT FAMOUS MAYBE HE COULD NOT DEAL WITH THE NEGATIVE PUBLICITY BECAUSE OF HIS LACK OF SELF DISCIPLINE. PLUS GOING TO PARIS TO GET AWAY FROM HIS LEGAL ISSUES MAY HAVE BEEN A BAD IDEA ESPECIALLY SINCE HE HAD MORE ACCESS TO DRUGS AND ALCOHOL. SORRY JIM MORRISON I WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO SAVE YOU BUT EVERYTHING IN LIFE HAPPENS FOR A REASON. YOUR LEGACY LIVES ON. I WILL KEEP WRITING POETRY AND PROSE AND YOU WILL ALWAYS INSPIRE ME TO BE THE GREATEST WRITER I CAN EVER BE. AL HAMDU LILLAH.
