Played on level 5 (Hard) difficulty. This playthrough was a request!
Abel is pretty much a Street Fighter-wannabe with fireball, hurricane kicks an' all, and also a boss character as well.
Gameplay-wise he's one of the best character because he has the most combo strings in the game, and his specials are really good as well.
Also I should note that he has a secret Overdrive attack which is pretty much a buffed version of his normal Overdrive. (You need to press Square, X and Circle before he does his Overdrive attack)

ABEL, man of Destruction and Chaos...a Badass Rebel. they should of added him as a special Guest to Street Fighter.
Unfortunately after Toshinden 2 it wasn't popular enough.
abel best character should have been in toshinden 4 :)
Abel: a shotokan/ansatsuken character with bombs, meteors and a hella shoulder tackle

Does anyone know why Abel and Veil have the same moveset and exact same voice?
It could speculated that Abel is the progenitor for Veil ,making Veil some type of clone that's my take
should be the secret overdrive being pressed together once or multiple times?
What do I have to do to unlock Abel? I already unlocked every sub-boss and Sho but couldn't unlock him even by finishing the game in any level from 3 to 7 with Sho or Vermillion as specified in some websites.
Sorry for late response (I have been busy within two months), but keep trying; you will eventually unlock him. If I recall correctly, it took about three attempts till I unlocked him, so it is more like matter of luck IMO. Also, maybe try level 5 difficulty (hard)? Dunno if it helps much, tho.
Did you use ALL characters in story mode? That worked for me... 😊
