Yeah I was pretty disappointed with this movie because I love Bianca, nothing made sense in this movie, you see Bianca teach for like 2 minutes and suddenly her students marks go up 40 percent or something. And i constantly see people praising Bianca on twitter telling her it's the best movie they have ever seen and it's so funny and i'm like stop lying to her because it was awful. And the thing with the chocolates, Bianca never eats them she stuffs them in the drawer of her desk and the gives them to Rachel Dratch at the end.
Excellent review; you DID fix it... twice. The script for this movie was baffling, a lot of wasted talent. Bianca didn't read enough people for me, and wasn't this movie supposed to be a vehicle for that????? And I agree with your point about this film having a weird approach to Texas. As someone with experience growing up gay in Texas, the homophobia from my peers in particular was terrible, but there are a growing number of well meaning allies there. It felt like they set it there for the half-baked purpose of "explaining" why all the characters were 100% always awful. But I didn't get too much "Texas" from any other part of the script; it just felt contrived.
I don’t believe that Hurricane Bianca was that bad. I actually loved it; I’m not saying it was amazing because it’s a drag queen shooting a movie on a budget, so that’s out of the picture, but it was pretty good either way. I think they thought it was worse because they saw the reviews first.
Yay! I was so looking forward to this review! I found the movie charming enough that I still enjoyed it but I agree with most of the problems you mentioned. One thing we can all agree on? MORE DRAG QUEEN MOVIES!
It's not often that you can reasonably say to yourself "boy, Shangela would have been really good in the lead role" until you watch Hurricane Bianca...
I had high hopes for this movie, but was disappointed. In the end it just wasn't very funny (kind of like that Hour Logo Special she did...not that funny). It's very perplexing because Bianca is very funny in person & on videos from different appearances she always makes me laugh. I did like the movie much better the 2nd time I watched it, after my expectations had been stifled.I enjoyed it more for what it was than what I had hoped it would be and had more fun with it.
I actually really loved this movie. And it's not because I'm a Bianca Del Rio fan, because I didn't even watch her or Rupaul's Drag Race until after I watched this movie. 😊
I am shocked you guys thought this would be decent. It is not like any of the Drag Queens could act. Do we not remember the acting challenges. Well,I won't waste my time now.
I think this would be good if they had some of the drag queens from RPDR, who won the acting challeneges, and put them in this film. I bet it would be a little bit better...I'm trying to grab straws here.
asinine Compadre The thing is before being on drag race Bianca had acting experience so we all thought this was going to be good. Like you can’t deny it’s going to be a little cheesy it was a drag movie but for someone who started their drag career in theater it really was bad.
I didn't make the connection to Poison Ivy when I first watched the film but now I kind of want to see Bianca as Poison Ivy in a film (obviously a gay camp version of Batman).
This movie had a lot of missed opportunities, still cute for a taste, but it isn't anything legendary. I am still supporting this film because we are in desperate need of quality LGBTQ(abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz) media!
While mildly enjoyable, you have to admit that the whole premise of this movie seems to be mirroring the whole concept of drag in a sense, which is a pastiche of campy, over-the-top performances from those larger than life, yet somewhat crude, personas trying to replicate/reference iconic moments from other campy mediums beloved by LGBT and pay tribute to LGBT icons and pop culture in general. Some of those references though may be too obscure to pick up on especially by the general audience, and thus they get lost in translation and things fall flat. With that in mind and from what you're discussing around 14:40, regarding the different personalities of Bianca and Richard, I was reminded of "Myra Breckinridge", a 1970 film starring Raquel Welch, and it surprised me how Hurricane Bianca mimics some of the film's general plot elements and settings. Maybe, aside from all the other references you mentioned in the review, they were going for that reference as well. Btw, Myra Breckinridge might be a film worth reviewing, it's campy, over-the-top and was considered highly controversial for its time!
have you guys seen Cherry Pop? its a really great movie featuring Bob the Drag Queen, Tempest Dejour, Mayhem Miller, Latrice and Detox. it would be an awesome review!!
KEENG LOUIE I mean they reviewed nerdy movies before which include... SUICIDE SQUAD, MARVEL SUPER HERO MOVIES LIKE THOR, CIVIL WAR, AVENGERS ECT they reviewed kiddy movies including SECRET LIFE OF PETS, MOANA, FINDING DORY < WHICH THEY ENJOYED... so i don't see why they can't review power rangers, avryel
When Avaryl described this as a cartoon-y movie, that's when I really felt like I got the movie. It was all very much ingrained in this idea of caricatures, and instead of having a drag-friendly message, it seemed to be an umbrella/blanket-LGBT message of acceptance? Kind of? Even though none of the antagonists learned or changed. Definitely all over the map... and for some reason, I read the scene of the straight boy with the scratched face, as having had a very intimate night with the gay boy?? I didn't even think about the key-fist being a factor, they both seemed like very throwaway scenes. I love this channel so much, every single video is fabulous and articulated extremely well, and I'm working on developing the technology to transfer your consciousnesses into android bodies so you can keep this channel going forever.
The Alan Cumming role confused me so much! I was like, oh ok so is he saying Richard’s on this school programme but it’s just a trick to get him to Texas for... some other reason? But then he gets to Texas and he is on the school programme and we never see Alan Cumming again? So weird.
If you love Alan Cumming like I do, you NEED to retro review Josie and the Pussycats. Simultaneously the gayest and worst movie ever, but also my favourite
This movie probably should have been the Drag Movie version of Glee, I think i would've made a lot more sense if she was a fabulous drag from NY that turns the whole drama club into a fabulous national event for the ages; I just don't think chemistry was the right subject she should've been the teacher for. #maybe 🤷🏻♂️
One thing you need to understand this movie and the sequal is its very tongue and cheek. And I love the queens in this film Im a huge Drag Race fan and these queens are funny. Would love to meet the girls they seem fun
I just found this channel today and I'm loving your reviews, also how you talk about characters that should have their own movie or how you "fix" not so great movies
I think the problem was they were trying to set up the character of Richard so much and make his need for revenge so clear that by the time they got to the Bianca stuff (Which is a lot more fun because Bianca does things) the movie was effectively over and they still had to wrap up these pointless revenge plotlines. I have heard that they're going to maybe do a sequel (According to IMDB the title might be "Hurricane Bianca 2: From Russia with Hate") so maybe that one will work better since they won't have to spend time setting anything up, we can just jump right into the drag fun. If they can focus on letting the queens to fun things, maybe the sequel will redeem this one.
I agree - now that the character's back story is esatablished ( even if they did take a whole film to do it ), they should be able to tighten the script and get straight down to the story if they do another one ( and the title makes sense as I heard Katya would be in the next one so I'm dying for the writer to pull it together and make it good ). Brian's ( Katya's) comedy knowledge and back cataloge of references is so extensive that it would be criminal for them to waste him.
It was the worst movie ever made. Until the sequel happened. Bianca has no reason to slag off other dqs now that she's committed those crimes of entertainment. There should be a yt channel just of people slagging off these movies.
YES! honestly there was legit not enough Joslyn Fox in this movie Also what would have made this movie amazing was if Henny was also a teacher there, and she was like another lovable sidekick who was nice to her at the school and helped her take down RD's character etc, and as they cut to end credits, before they start rolling you just hear her say "who the fuck is heather"...I may be making this movie even more confused
Would you guys ever review Spring Breakdown? It stars Rachael Dratch and I think the other two bigger stars of SNL from the seasons when Rachael Dratch was a cast member. I love Rachael!
About the bathroom joke, it could be a great moment of reality in the moive to be like "Oh shit, it doesn't matter if i win teatcher of the year, they are gonna stay the same. So wanna know what? I'm going to try to be the principal now." and then Alan Cumming's charecter would help him to get the position because, surprise, he was the only gay in town who suffers the same things that Bianca did and because of that he want someone to change that and that's why he send her there. It would bring a reality to the movie + one more scene with Alan, cause he is great.
I guess I'm the only one who thought it was kinda entertaining. There were moments that made me laugh and others that made me cringe, not to mention a few that were actually kinda sad. I realize it wasn't great, I'd probably give it a 6/10, but damn. It's a drag movie.
Bianca herself was the hurricane. It's a figure of speech. If someone 'comes in like a hurricane' it means that they sweep you off your feet or have a massive effect on your life. You can also describe someone as a 'whirlwind.'
I just saw the sequel. I mean, I watched some of it. I couldn't finish, it's really sad. I already forced myself through the first one, but this time I just can't...
But seriously, Y'all need to watch Cherry Pop as soon as you can. It sounds like exactly the kind of drag movie that y'all would like (AKA a well written drag movie)
Although I'm sure it will be as terrible as the first one, I just saw an interview with Bianca saying they are doing a sequel. But Katya is going to be in it so I'm gonna have to watch it anyway.
I've been watching the videos and have noticed that she doesn't actually drink the wine, she just "wets her lips". I used to pull that trick all the time!!!
Andrew when you came out to your parents, was it a huge moment? When I came out it was a throwaway line which I was terrified about. The build up was there in Karma's not wanting to tell anyone. But when she said; oke I'm ready to meat my parents they were accepting and awesome. The awesome was thrown away yes. But the build up was there. It was a coming out. I wonder what your coming out was like to understand were you are coming from
+Ramon Schipper it was more than half of a telephone call and an awkward shot of hugs centered on a door. I get what you're saying, but it could have been executed MUCH better
I do agree. And yet I don't agree. Was it what we all want for our coming out? It was for me. Why should announcing you are, in any way shape or form, a part of the LGBT+ community be done with anything else then half a phone call and a hug? I get you. We aren't there and we want to see it. But this movie was so bad at showing things, the good, the bad and the ugly, why do you want to see this done badly? I loved that it was half a phone call and a hug. It showed acceptance and it was the only thing that this movie showed that was the way the world should be.... I am Dutch so maybe I am indoctrinated by Dutch standards, we were the first to have gay marriage. But this is what a coming out should look like to me. If you disagree and it should be a whole ordeal add me on facebook, we will discuss it in detail haha 😉
Thank you so much, I have been avoiding invitations to watch this movie because it doesn't look funny or good in any way. There are super low budget movies that are funny.
Hey moviebitches you guys probably know this but your season 9 episode 1 for Drag race was taken down for copywrite😭😭😭 I want to watch it soooo bad please fix this asap! I love ya'll❤
they couldn't have any extras ? for real ? they couldn't have done some sort of an open call for Bianca fans to come on down, be in a couple of scenes as background actors, you get a signed photo, you get to be in the movie, a snack and there you go.
I think that the movie ROCKED!!! Shut up....low budget and don't really know who the director is...it is what it is...Bianca Del Rio was (as always) fabulous!!! (haters!!! :( )
FINALLY WE CAN TALK ABOUT THIS MOVIE... even though it wasn't that good... BUT I HAD FUN WATCHING IT
Xavier Ramirez so much fun
True
Same
I thought chad michaels was gonna die before you reviewed this.
Daniel Reilly "Thank you Chad Michaels how many years ago"
They probably wanted him to be happy.
I watched this and I 100% didn't realize Joslyn Fox was in this movie
Mark me either.... think I'll have to watch it again
She's not, he's speculating
@@unabAshedVO she is actually, you can see her as the bartender in the bar where alyssa is performing
I'm surprised you didn't talk about the awkward cowboy love interest~
that was not akward, he was hot. I LIKED IT XD!
Can't wait for From Russia with hate! KATYA KATYA KATYA KATYA
It would be so cool if you guys watch the Eurovision Song Contest this year and then recap it.
YAAAAASSS!!! We so need that!
Oh my god, I've never heard a better suggestion IN MA LIFEEEE! Moviebitches, this please!
kvn365 OH MY GOODNESS YASSSSSSSSSSSSSS
its a 12 from me YES
kvn365 omg yaaaaaaas!
Yeah I was pretty disappointed with this movie because I love Bianca, nothing made sense in this movie, you see Bianca teach for like 2 minutes and suddenly her students marks go up 40 percent or something. lol "Andrew fixes the movie" segment is a regular staple now
detubeme someone need to get Andrew to write the next movie.
To me the whole film felt like one really long drag race acting challenge!
Omg you guys know so much about movies and their references... I love your insights and reviews.
Excellent review; you DID fix it... twice. The script for this movie was baffling, a lot of wasted talent. Bianca didn't read enough people for me, and wasn't this movie supposed to be a vehicle for that?????

But I didn't get too much "Texas" from any other part of the script; it just felt contrived.
It was a cute movie, but being high or drunk helps a lot getting through it
"We're finally talking about it!... this not so good movie..."
Ohhhhh my gawd! Lol! Read the house down Andrew! That killed me!
I feel bad for hating this movie, but gosh, I could hardly finish it.
Michael Lee oh my god! Me too!😭
I gave up 10 minutes, I was cringing too hard
I don’t believe that Hurricane Bianca was that bad. I actually loved it; I’m not saying it was amazing because it’s a drag queen shooting a movie on a budget, so that’s out of the picture, but it was pretty good either way. I think they thought it was worse because they saw the reviews first.
Finally same !
Yay! I was so looking forward to this review! I found the movie charming enough that I still enjoyed it but I agree with most of the problems you mentioned. One thing we can all agree on? MORE DRAG QUEEN MOVIES!
1:01 Foreshadowing A Star is Born.... hmmm they must've seen what you saw regarding Willam an Shangela
It's not often that you can reasonably say to yourself "boy, Shangela would have been really good in the lead role" until you watch Hurricane Bianca...
As always, I wish I could see the Movie Bitches "fixed" version of the movie. 🤓
I had high hopes for this movie, but was disappointed. In the end it just wasn't very funny (kind of like that Hour Logo Special she did...not that funny). I did like the movie much better the 2nd time I watched it, after my expectations had been stifled.I enjoyed it more for what it was than what I had hoped it would be and had more fun with it.
I find Bianca to be a lot funnier when she's not going off of a script. So I think that was part of the problem.
I actually really loved this movie. And it's not because I'm a Bianca Del Rio fan, because I didn't even watch her or Rupaul's Drag Race until after I watched this movie. 😊
I absolutely adored this movie. It's makes me happy
I am shocked you guys thought this would be decent. It is not like any of the Drag Queens could act. Do we not remember the acting challenges. Well,I won't waste my time now.
Rachel Frumkin Though i am super excited for the two movies that Katya is gonna be in :))))
Rachel Frumkin most of them are stage actors although Jinkx is pretty good
I think this would be good if they had some of the drag queens from RPDR, who won the acting challeneges, and put them in this film. I bet it would be a little bit better...I'm trying to grab straws here.
Rachel Frumkin there's a lot of queens who can act actually - jinkx, ben and katya for example. they just weren't in this film
asinine Compadre The thing is before being on drag race Bianca had acting experience so we all thought this was going to be good. Like you can’t deny it’s going to be a little cheesy it was a drag movie but for someone who started their drag career in theater it really was bad.
I love that you guys love the Dressmaker! I mean someone has to!!
i love avaryl's list of things that roy haylock is in this movie
Omg an Alaska movie
I know!! Make it happen.
Your criticisms are both specific and valid and I love it. It doesn't matter if the budget was nonexistent, there's no excuse for lazy storytelling.
Im seeing Andrew's chest hair. And I LOVE it
You guys probably already know this, but the S9E1 review was blocked on like copyright grounds or something... :/
Yaaaaaas Moviebitches, you did THAT. You are reading the movie for all the Tea in China and I love it
I didn't make the connection to Poison Ivy when I first watched the film but now I kind of want to see Bianca as Poison Ivy in a film (obviously a gay camp version of Batman).
This movie had a lot of missed opportunities, still cute for a taste, but it isn't anything legendary.
I am still supporting this film because we are in desperate need of quality LGBTQ(abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz) media!
THIS MOVIE NEEDED A HURRICANE TO DESTROY EVERYONE'S -CLOTHES- SO THAT BIANCA COULD BECOME THE DRESSMAKER
One of my friends and I watched this tonight and good god it was a mess. So many choices were made, so few of them made any sense...

LOLLLLL 7:24 -- shade of the century. "It wasn't." period
You guys have to review the New Power Ranger movie
KEENG LOUIE I mean they reviewed nerdy movies before which include... SUICIDE SQUAD, MARVEL SUPER HERO MOVIES LIKE THOR, CIVIL WAR, AVENGERS ECT they reviewed kiddy movies including SECRET LIFE OF PETS, MOANA, FINDING DORY < WHICH THEY ENJOYED... so i don't see why they can't review power rangers, avryel
You KNOW a movie is terrible when the entire review is spent discussing speculation on missed opportunities, missed jokes, and confusing scenes.
When Avaryl described this as a cartoon-y movie, that's when I really felt like I got the movie. It was all very much ingrained in this idea of caricatures, and instead of having a drag-friendly message, it seemed to be an umbrella/blanket-LGBT message of acceptance? Kind of? *TRIGGERED* . I LOVE this movie.
YAAAAS IT'S FINALLY HERE *SCREAMS LIKE VIOLET*
It is a great movie! Think nice 80's fun. No gross, no desperately squeezed in "awkwardness", so refreshing.
I know Andrew hates horror movies but Id love for you guys to do like a show Andrew some classic camp horror flicks haha
Joslyn was in it?! Didn't even notice
Yesss! 💕
MB: they said sometime in march and choose the last possible chance
MB: we'll review Hurricane Bianca before the premiere.
This movie probably should have been the Drag Movie version of Glee, I think i would've made a lot more sense if she was a fabulous drag from NY that turns the whole drama club into a fabulous national event for the ages; I just don't think chemistry was the right subject she should've been the teacher for. #maybe 🤷🏻♂️
I thought it was a good movie. But then again I have horrible taste
Lmao me 😂
One thing you need to understand this movie and the sequal is its very tongue and cheek.
And I love the queens in this film Im a huge Drag Race fan and these queens are funny. Would love to meet the girls they seem fun
I just found this channel today and I'm loving your reviews, also how you talk about characters that should have their own movie or how you "fix" not so great movies
this movie had funny ideas, but it wasn't really funny
"I'm fucking this cat, u just hold the legs!", omg, rewound it 3 times & 😂
You guys promised you'd get this review out before Season 9 of Drag Race started ... the day before the premier, you sure cut it close!
+DarkMask6667 we figured we'd get everyone on schedule for #BitchfestThursdays or do we like #CUNextThursday better?
I think the problem was they were trying to set up the character of Richard so much and make his need for revenge so clear that by the time they got to the Bianca stuff (Which is a lot more fun because Bianca does things) the movie was effectively over and they still had to wrap up these pointless revenge plotlines. Love love love To Wong Foo you should do a retro review. Also did y'all watch Why Him with James Franco and Bryan Cranston, cause that needs a review
Are y'all gonna do more of those Retro Reviews like with Baby Jane?
+Sean Mannix we want to! Just have to find the time
Please do Xanadu
With such an amazing cast, its almost a crime that it was so bad :'(
Would you guys ever review Spring Breakdown?
I LOVED HURRICANE BIANCA
I guess I'm the only one who thought it was kinda entertaining. There were moments that made me laugh and others that made me cringe, not to mention a few that were actually kinda sad. I realize it wasn't great, I'd probably give it a 6/10, but damn. It's a drag movie.
Agreed!
Bianca herself was the hurricane. It's a figure of speech. If someone 'comes in like a hurricane' it means that they sweep you off your feet or have a massive effect on your life. You can also describe someone as a 'whirlwind.'
Rob Miles so why was there real news headlines saying a hurricane was going to hit
Also the fact it was RuPaul highlights this.
so why where there weather reports ?
The hurricane also refers to Hurricane Katrina as Bianco is from New Orleans. Wake up, pearl!
it was just contrived
I just saw the sequel. I mean, I watched some of it. I couldn't finish, it's really sad. I already forced myself through the first one, but this time I just can't...
But seriously, Y'all need to watch Cherry Pop as soon as you can. It sounds like exactly the kind of drag movie that y'all would like (AKA a well written drag movie)
Love you guys but RPDR premiered friday and still no recap. We need to be talking about these Gaga looks!!!
Nikkia Miller de
I really needed you guys to review "Sharknado 6" (I guess?) Which has Alaska. It's shit, but Alaska is a medieval fabulous wizard.
AGHAGHAG the newest video was removed!!! what happened!!!! i need movie bitches!!!!
omg PLEASE do a review of the original Hairspray with Divine in!
I used to pull that trick all the time!!!
sure I mean I did enjoy the movie but sure I can see a few things that you are saying ringing true
Can you please review First Period! I want to know what you guys think!!
Lack of visual storytelling is so right. Like "my girlfriend." and the gay kid is like "No! It was me!!" and I was like....noooo why you go there
I kind of love that Bianca was so clearly in drag, I think it added a sense of whimsy
Thank you so much, I have been avoiding invitations to watch this movie because it doesn't look funny or good in any way. There are super low budget movies that are funny.
PLEASE REVIEW THE SECOND ONE!!! JUST BECAUSE KATYA'S IN IT!!!
That movie is just Were the World Mine lol (everyone starts turning gay. Definitely watch it. Enjoy what you can and for what it is)
I would LOVE to see a BenDeLaCreme movie. I think she would just be bubbly; campy; funny and fabulous in her own movie!
i want a movie with her and jinkx
I love, love, love your app idea!!😊
i didn't think it was good but it was so bad it was good? kind of like jessica wild
Totally Agreed.
Hey moviebitches you guys probably know this but your season 9 episode 1 for Drag race was taken down for copywrite😭😭😭 I want to watch it soooo bad please fix this asap! I love ya'll❤
Tbh how have u guys not reviewed Hurricane Bianca 2? We need that
that happened??
I’m with y’all: It SUCKED.
they couldn't have any extras ? for real ? they couldn't have done some sort of an open call for Bianca fans to come on down, be in a couple of scenes as background actors, you get a signed photo, you get to be in the movie, a snack and there you go.
Hurricane Bianca 2???
They just started filming the sequel!! I’ll be expecting a ruview 😉
I loved this movie. I'm looking for the Christmas special that was on Logo. That part with the keys 🤣😂.
You kept your promise!jk I've waited far too long for this day to come. THANK YOU!
I think the point of the bathroom joke was that progress is slow. Overall it was lame but I liked it.
My opinion about this movie,
"They think it is campy, but they didn't try to be campy."
She definitely needed a makeover montage by her drag friend.
This movie was a #choice
This movie wasn't that good, but I may have to rewatch it to see all the cameos.
I think that the movie ROCKED!!! Shut up....low budget and don't really know who the director is...it is what it is...Bianca Del Rio was (as always) fabulous!!! (haters!!! :( )
You could buy it on iTunes .................... No don't do that. 😂😂😂😂😂
