  • In this video, I show you the highlights of the assembly of this wonderful ARTF model. I didn't mention in the video, but you can buy these without covering, to cover it yourself. I should have said that, so my apologies. Enjoy =)

    What a great looking model aeroplane. And yes, that spinner really does look the part.

    Hey Simon - I’ve been waiting for your challenger video !! Bought one myself to follow along. Brilliant idea on the pc9 upright engine. I agree - just put the engine upright and save all the hassles. Cheers mate. Phil

      Hi Phil. Thanks for your great comment! Sorry I didn't do a "multi-parter" for this one, now I know you bought one to follow along!! Maybe the next one I can do in more than one update! I have a few coming in 2024 once I have had my cataract surgery. I have the Acrowot ARTF, I have the Easy Street 2, and I will also be assembling another but I can't decide between the Seagull Zlin Z50L or the Great Planes Escapade......(both are gorgeous) . Merry Christmas to you and yours. All the best. Simon

      @@SimonWebbRCandModellingChannel Brilliant mate !! Looking forward to 2024 then ..maybe after your surgery😳!. Should have eyes like a Hawk then! I enjoy your easy going style mate and your comment about being a club flyer is spot on. Too much focus on mammoth builds and higher budget planes on many other channels. I love “club” planes. Cheers mate, have a great Christmas and see you in the new year 🤜🤛!

    Hi Simon, after checking out you're very helpful ,,,,,How to Design your Motor + ESC + Battery Combination for Electric Flight,
    my I ask how would I work out, everything that I need to make a plane , that has to carry and drop a 10 kilo pay load , and need s to have a 100 kilometres flight range, sorry even after following you're example I still can't work out what I need to do so that I may start putting a to buy parts list together , thanks for all your excellent uploads

      Hi Robert. Wow....that is some task you have set yourself! I have never embarked on such a project myself and I doubt I will be able to help you! 10 kilos is a heavy weight, so the model would be considered a large model (over 20kg) to carry that sort of weight IMO. 100 km flight range is way over anything I have ever flown. I would suggest you contact somebody at the Large Model Association, and they may have some useful hints and tips for you! Online is also a good research tool. Best of luck and thanks for commenting 👍

      @@robertgoldbornatyout You will need a large model. A large model is over 20kg in weight. You will need to be a member of the LMA (Large Model Association) The engines will likely be petrol powered. You will also need a van (preferably long wheel base) to transport it. AND it won't be cheap! Models of this nature are £50,000 often....so be prepared. Regarding designing the thing....I can't help you. A big twin engined model like a scale Transall or a DC-3 Dakota would be my choice.

      Thanks Simon, I was thinking about coverting something like the Cri Cri but a much simpler type of build, and yes I'm looking at petrol engines, but would all the basic rc model kit still work maybe just need to add larger servos. Fpv stuff, should all still work, same radio master tx16, Im thinking maybe 20hp could do it? what do you think? thanks again.@@SimonWebbRCandModellingChannel

      @@robertgoldbornatyout Yes you will need suitable kit for such a job. But as I have said, I have never done it. You are asking a question about something to somebody who has no experience of it. If you want to train to run a marathon, you ask a person who has already run a marathon - not the bloke who never runs! You will get much better answers from somebody who has experience of it. But you sound like a beginner, and the task you are trying to do is not for a beginner. Maybe settle for something easier!?.....Club Flying perhaps?

    Hey Simon I've noticed you use the futaba 8fg how do you find it

    • @SimonWebbRCandModellingChannel
      @SimonWebbRCandModellingChannel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Tony. Thanks for your comment. Yes I use the T8FG Tx and I absolutely love it. So much so, that I bought another spare Tx as I find it very user friendly. I have heard the touch sensitive dial can become less sensitive in time, but I can say my set is 12 years old and I haven't had a single problem with it at all. You can expand the model memory from 20 up to over 100 I believe, but as my flying fleet is currently at 16 models I am fine. It feels lovely in my hands and you can adjust things like the stick tensions if you wish. Overall score from me is 9.5 out of 10. The 0.5 mark down is the screen is a little small - but a larger screen would have resulted in a higher purchase price, so overall I am very pleased with it. Would I recommend it?....YES! .......It has been superseded now, but I really love this one.
