Love looking at all of these comments and seeing no one saying anything bad about Debbie. Proof of how amazing she is. This is definitely one of my favorites from her solo career.
This song only comes up if you are a real fan, after listening to practically all Blondie songs - or if you directly look for Debbie Harry by name. If you make it here, you must like her.
I agree , she doesn’t seem to get much negative stuff , by all accounts she is a lovely lady , so guess she doesn’t attract trolls , I’ve loved her since 1978 and still love her , she always ploughs her own furrow so remains interesting to say the least ❤
I love Deborah Harry, she is so down to earth. I use to know her personally when I worked for back then Airtouch cellular, she would always come to the Woodland Hills store and come to me for all business. She did all her own stuff never had someone doing stuff for her and was a joy every time. .
I like the way she got her Associate Degree before she went into the Music 🎶 Business; that shows she is smart 🧠 as well as talented in music. And she always knows how to dance 💃, and she sings about a variety of subjects. 💛💙💜
Damn, that's a beautiful woman. I can't think of anyone else from 35 years ago who looked better on TV than modern stars do with HD and professional makeup.
As I grew into a man I learned to apprieciate Ms. Harry as an artist. No other artist that I can think of was as influential as her. She started out as a punk artist, then disco, pivital artist in hip hop's infancy, expiremented with new wave, reggae, and freestyle. The list goes on and on. Like Madonna, she started out really in the clubs. What makes her great is that she is still doing her thing and I love her for it!
There were too many good "euro dance" and "italo disco" style club songs all at once. All awesome but not everyone could sit and listen to music all day to discover it all and not everything can be number one
This video was produced for the clubs that is why it is really cheesy. Debbie Harry is her own special effect. she doesn't need a great video. Her mere presence does the trick!!! This is why most of Blondie's videos are performance vids.
Love those herky-jerky dance moves! She's the ultimate cutie pie! This to me was her best solo single. She should have worked more with those infectious pop hitmakers Stock Aitken and Waterman!
Still love this classic by Debbie. Her hair & make up were so on point, that they are timeless & look perfect for today...Natural looks meant no contouring is necessary. She knows exactly what does & doesn't work for her. Sweet & Low is another example of her looking brilliant, especially with dark hair at the back which shouldn't work, but does❤
Yep, the clubs is where I saw it. And it was a staple at East Village parties at the time because Deborah was/is our goddess. She's wearing Stephen Sprouse by the way.
I love Debbie Harry, u could throw any genre of music style at her and she'd make a cool song that would certainly turn into as if she was that specific style of music ,even though she wasn't necessarily that particular type of music style type genre she was attempting or doing on that certain song , and what's cool about her is that with all or most of the many different genre styles of music she has experimented with, her delivery on what would come out of her experimentation would sound very cool and nice, unlike some other artist's that tried other music styles or attempts to do some stuff out of their norm or style usually don't tum out or work out as a hit or a success for them , bur Debbie Harry has that touch by luck or something that makes her successful in those rare areas in music experinentation.
Would love to hear how the choreography for this video was developed. It's a great song and one in which Debbie is really expressive. Noteworthy how little she furrows her brow. Her expressiveness is almost all done with her mouth and hands.
For many years I recorded this song on a K7 tape and I never knew who sang it. I recently learned that it was from Divine Debbie Harry from her RockBird album. I heard about ten times when I found out. This song is awesome!
Lol I hate Justine he sucks The whole blondi band deserved to be the number 1 band shame they got put down fucking sad I love Blondie she still looks fit even now lol
Dear Deborah Harry is a real Queen of many, many millions of music fans worldwide forever, I love her and her music very much, Orhan Baki from Germany...
Saw the GORG Debbie Harry live way back in the 80's live....with her 2 cute pups doing #InLoveWithLove and #FrenchKissing.....AMAZING NIGHT !! #Metro #Avalon #BostonMass
I was looking for this track only 35 years. As kid in 1987 i was listening one random casette with others random 80 music like( Scotch- picture of those years or version of Funky town-that other songs was founded years ago but This -"my" tonight 14 02 2023 - 01_24. Im fucking Happy right now. From Gdynia with Love
She was 41 when this song came out. Loads of people have hits in their 40s and older: Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Pink Floyd, Madonna, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, Ella Fitzgerald, Tina Turner, Thelonious Monk, Willie Nelson, Cher, David Bowie, Mark Ronson, Pharrell, Jay Z, Beyoncé, Sia, Radiohead, Eminem, Sean Paul, etc. They aren’t all my taste in music, but they all had hits in their 40s, some very recently. Your comment (“to see that she made hits in her 40s is amazing”) gave me the impression that you think people either stop creating art or are somehow no longer of interest or value/valued as they mature, with 40 being some kind of wall. If I’ve mistaken the meaning of your original comment, I hope you’ll clarify because I’d genuinely like to understand what you meant. It’s good to benefit from another point of view, so I hope you can help me see yours.
It was a #1 Billboard dance club hit in the U.S. in 1987 (That was still a fairly big deal back then). It only made it to #70 on the Billboard Hot 100. The original single version is very different from the dance remix, also, even tho radio was probably serviced with singles of both versions. It only made it to #45 on the singles chart in the U.K. as well. A really well-loved track at the time, but radio doesn't always have the same reasons for playing what they do.
oh my god im in love with debbie harris always have loved her voice and cool and collected attitude this is a true woman .i will have her face tattoed on my back
the last "Debbie harry" song before 'Maria' (thank you Gary Valentine) and the internet put them on the charts gain and Debbie purchased a NJ house for $1MM - happy 75th Debbie
This video always reminds me of dancing at Connection in Phoenix, along with "Something in My House" by Dead Or Alive and "Say You Really Want Me" by Kim Wilde. Fun times. Anyone commenting on her dancing should know they originally shot this video with the original album version of the song, which is a lot different... more low key and exotic, and it matches video a lot more.
That is true :-) I was the editor the Warner Bros. dance department hired to do this video edit. It was tricky to say the least! But it helped propel the song to #1 on the dance club charts. This mix is indeed very different from the original single. But this is mix the that got the song to the dance floors :-)
I remember this song from New York City's Video Music Box, it was 1987 and this song seemed outdated even then but now it hits the spot, another gem from the golden era
Mine too - its a shame she didn't work with better producers most of the time - SAW and Debbie should have done more together.
ella esta despelucada. ELLA DEBIA PEINARSE.
Ela é Sensacional e Maravilhosa ... nesta Fase ela já uma Mulher mais Madura
I agree , she doesn’t seem to get much negative stuff , by all accounts she is a lovely lady , so guess she doesn’t attract trolls , I’ve loved her since 1978 and still love her , she always ploughs her own furrow so remains interesting to say the least ❤
This song should have been a massive hit!
She walked into the hit factory and created a masterpiece that should have smashed it
I love Deborah Harry, she is so down to earth. I use to know her personally when I worked for back then Airtouch cellular, she would always come to the Woodland Hills store and come to me for all business. She did all her own stuff never had someone doing stuff for her and was a joy every time. .

beautiful, and full of class, with an incredible powerful voice... see her when she was 25/30 ... but she is beautiful still here over 40
Probably my favourite female artist ever…she looks fantastic in this video…a naturally beautiful woman…with just a hint of mischief in her…👍🇬🇧
Damn, that's a beautiful woman. I can't think of anyone else from 35 years ago who looked better on TV than modern stars do with HD and professional makeup.
Concordo com você , muito linda
Modern stars look 100% different without Hollywood make up artist. They literally turn dogs into princesses.
Debbie rules

This song should have been bigger. Such an underrated great song
There were too many good "euro dance" and "italo disco" style club songs all at once. All awesome but not everyone could sit and listen to music all day to discover it all and not everything can be number one
Just heard this song for the first time in 2023! Takes me back with all its 80's disco synth and bass goodness!
This version was remixed by Stock Aitken Waterman from the UK, creators of Never Gonna Give You Up and others
One of the best to come out of the hit factory, so glad she leant herself to the production line
Only true Blondie and Debbie fans know about this underrated gem
Classic drum sound from the Linndrum, I sold mine more than 20 years ago and I regret it every single day.
Imagine if SAW did a whole Album with Debbie back in 1986!!! No one is like her!!😍
Beautiful legend
We love these tunes ❤ in summer time beautiful Blondie
Debbi Harry has been mesmerizing since I first saw her decades ago. Incredible, talented, beautiful woman.
This video was produced for the clubs that is why it is really cheesy. Debbie Harry is her own special effect. she doesn't need a great video. Her mere presence does the trick!!! This is why most of Blondie's videos are performance vids.
someone who gets it
exactly all she has to do is show up!
Exactly!
Yeah. It's a beautiful song. Her voice is great. But, this video is kind of weird and ridiculous.
She was probably off her face as well TBH :0)
I love Debbie Harry. She was down for anything. So talented.
Debbie Harry........Diva!
Actually she's far from a diva. .she lives a simple undemanding life I'm told ..love her .
This was a big hit in Miami in the late 80”s. Freestyle baby!!!!!!
her dancing is always my fav! So cute
It's not what you know, it's what you can prove!!! King Kong ain't got shit on me!!
I wish I could go back to 1986 and give Debbie a big hug she's so cute 😭❤
Wow this is a much better version
God created the perfect woman, BLONDIE!
She looks so happy in this video! Beautiful woman and great song!
I love New Order, and Debbie has an incredible phase with some of their producers....this song got everyone on the floor.....
It was not a rocket science in 1986 to make an italo with Yamaha DX7 bass.
Teh producers were Stock Aitken and Waterman
Great remix. Elevated this song immeasurably. And despite the 80’s fashion and hair, Debbie looks GORGEOUS. Her smile could light up the universe.

A timeless musical force. The woman can perform & sing any genre of music. Perfect!

Such a perfect beautiful soul, I wish and dream i could've met you in 79
Put another way: What's not to love about Debbie Harry?
She is one of Rock n Roll' legend darlings.
I hope Blondie does a Tour in 2021!
Yep, the clubs is where I saw it. And it was a staple at East Village parties at the time because Deborah was/is our goddess. She's wearing Stephen Sprouse by the way.
This is the version i remember from the clubs .love it !

Her hair looks amazing
I from Baltimore and they used to put this song in the mix. I didn't know who it was for a long time.

Love this song. I had some on my shirts by this designer she's wearing Stephen Sprouse. He was big in the 80's ❤❤
Absolutely fabulous......!!!!
you spin me right round Debbie!
Love this song, it was huge in the dance clubs in Dallas, hate that they didnt make a better video for it though.
That would’ve been epic back then with the shoulder pads and perms to boot 🎉

I read in a biography that she doesn't care how dorky she looks when she's performing. What matters is if the audience is enjoying themselves.
