I was at the final ECW PPV, but that was in Augusta Georgia.

I believe that Sandman actually yelled to "Ring the f**king bell!" from the mat just before his loss to Rhyno at Guilty as Charged 2001...but I don't want to argue semantics! Great video bro....I mean for Yet Another Wrestling Channel or whatever.

Also...just my thoughts but I believe the Hammerstein Ballroom is more closely associated with ECW, despite ROH running...what? four times as many shows there-ish...it comes down to ECW just having a greater cultural impact on pro wrestling in general than ring of honor. I think to many fans, especially those of us of an age to have witnessed ECW happening in real time and who lived through things such as the Monday Night Wars and even the golden eras of Hogan in the WWF and Flair and the Four Horsemen in the NWA/JCP, ring of honor was kinda looked upon as that "internet promotion" that didn't have TV and was only followed by the hardest of hardcore wresting nerds. No offense to any ROH fans btw. I never followed ring of honor until Sinclair Broadcasting purchased the company but I'm glad I started to when I did because it was actually really good...and that was at a low point for the company. I honestly think Tony Khan just has so much money that it doesn't matter what he spends it on because I truly don't see the longterm potential for keeping ROH open? The library is what's valuable. But regardless I don't see what the problem is with AEW running smaller venues LIKE the Hammerstein Ballroom? It looked good on TV, they drew a decent house and it's in the middle of NYC. Only positives. Finally I'll say that I would really like to see TNA run a ppv or impact taping from the venue. Before Scott D'Amore was released its said he had planned to run an event from the venue but now they're running the 20k seater USB Arena and while I would love to see 12,000-15,000 in for Slammiversary I still think a LIVE impact from the Hammerstein following the ppv could be HUGE!

You are correct, I chose to soften it a bit. Thanks for watching.

MLW had a show in the Manhattan Centre in 2002, in the same building but where Raw came from in 93. Couldn't find anything for the Hammerstein Ballroom though.
