Around Law fords hotel all the way to Vasco Dagama the beach has some reddish soil which is not good at all and the area is used as a harbor by the fishermen. If you want to enjoy a nice beachfront get a hotel around the Malindi marine park.

Then the Italian space program built a base, The Louis Brogglio San Marco station in Malindi. Nearly 30000 Italians registered there. Watamu is more German, again after they lost Tanganyika, and farmers who lost farms when Tanzania became communist. But most private beach homes are owned by white Kenyans, KCs, who have non-stop parties especially in December when they all troop back home.

The beach has an abandoned remote feeling. The beach I agree not that good, North Coast has no many good beaches, south coast is king.
