I literally can't live without occasional flying in Ultrawings! Absolutely adore this game!
I use to play it after horror games just to chill for a bit haha
Okay okay... you sold me! Best review I have seen so far. Thank for making it.
Many years ago I bought a Nintendo 64 just because of Pilotwings 64 which to this day is still one of my all time favorite games. This now is clearly inspired by that. Not only is like having another Pilotwings but on the ps5 , but the VR is just outstanding and everything I ever dreamed it could be 30 years ago when playing Pilotwings 64.
Outstanding.
And this game will make you believe we are living in a virtual reality ourselves too. It’s just that immersive.
Funfact. The comet seems to be based on an actual world war two rocket plane. Just look up Me 163 Komet. The similarities are quite striking.
The aim of the plane was basically to get to altitude fast and then engage attacking bombers for a short time. Basically as a glider. And the. Land. And yes. That plane was basically a deathtrap.
Loved Ultrawings on PSVR so can't wait to play this on PSVR2. This year hopefully 🤞🏻
This will be my favorite PSVR2 game! Thanks for the video!
Glad to hear man, it’s a great game!
One of my favorite games on the psvr1 ,I even bought the physical version...
Ultrawings 2 is my favorite flight simulator game, it has really great physics and missions.
Agreed! I really thought mine would be VTOL, but the easy to learn nature of Ultrawings 2 is just perfect for me. It’s really hard to go back to VTOL after a long break from it.
@@bmackVR Exactly, I like U2's planes variety, it was interesting to learn them and I had feeling I should try with the real one of those entry classes lol.
@@vrvector I would love for the Comet jet glider to be a real plane haha. I have a feeling that it isn’t though.
@@bmackVR Yes, Comete is awesome! I actually have just one recording for U2, I really need to record more of it not sure how what happened lol: th-cam.com/video/tCyJKKSd924/w-d-xo.html
Excellent video.
I am 68 and this game was my second VR choice. Having a psychotic fear of heights, bad heart and not sure about motion sickness susceptibility I figured what the heck and gave it a try. Glad I did, I love this game.
It's relaxing and just plain fun.
Having a bad day? Play Ultra Wings 2 for a while, it will get you grinning again.
This is my new repeat go to game when donning the headset, I love the ultralight since I actually am a pilot of one, can’t wait to try ‘engine out’ and dead stick landings
Ultrawings on PSVR had a lot of tracking issues and weird issues where the targets would spawn too far above ground to finish the challenges. I hope those issues were resolved, because it was one of the most fun games!
The tracking issues were probably because of the PSVR hardware. It should be much improved on PSVR 2.
For the spawning issue, I haven’t seen that once on the PCVR version so hopefully it won’t be there for PSVR 2.
Came back here after PSVR2 release and really great game! I which devs would add some kind of modern fighter jet tough :D Would be great addition :D
I never knew what this game was about and thought it was something you need a hotas for. It seems like it could be fun with motion controls
By the way it looks like you got the most views on this video so I guess people like this game.
Yeah I noticed that too. TH-cam analytics says most of my views came from “other TH-cam features” so no idea what that is. I’m betting it’s external views from Reddit though. My post did really well on the PSVR subreddit.
This might be a good one for people with stick drift haha. But the stick does control the rudder.
I so wanted to love this game but couldn't get the controls down I would spun and crash, may give it another shot
great video you made it look fun
Thanks Michelle!
It seems like a good value for casual fun versus say the serious, accuracy focus of something like MSFS 2020 or DCS.
Yeah I think it’s exactly what you want for a simcade type of game. I personally need more direction in gameplay than MSFS 2020 too. I am not creative enough to really enjoy sandbox style games in that way.
great review
Thanks I am glad you liked it! I had a lot of fun making it, which is good, because this video was really hard to put together haha. I try to keep the videos around 10 minutes but what I found with making this video is that the gameplay feels so much faster when your in the headset. In the game it feels like it takes 5 seconds to do something like approach and fly through a tunnel, but after playing the back the footage... that stuff actually takes like 30 seconds haha. So it was a tricky balance to put together.
Kind of makes me think of a mix between Pilotwings and Sky Odyssey. The motion controls really worry me though. Even if they are great, there's still no tactile feedback from thin air and that's kind of a deal breaker. Still going to keep an eye on it and probably pick it up though and hope they add an option to at least use the thumbstick to control the stick.
I don’t think that’s an option at least it’s not right now. I think I remember h the r devs saying something like it might have just standard PS5 controller support. So maybe that’s better suited for you?
I cant believe this is from a small youtuber. Good
Hey thanks man appreciate the compliment. I am a photographer in my day job who also does video work. And I’ve spent the last 10 years around video production so I’ve been able to sponge up a few things over the years.
So that I think has helped me look a little more polished.
What I don’t like is that when turning its not the horizon that turns but its the plain.
I’m not totally sure what you mean or the way you think it should be.
@@bmackVR If you sit in a plain it’s not logical that the plain does not stay in level with the pilot. Maybe a couple of degrees because the gravity point changes but not a lot because you wear a belt.
been looking for a good VR flight game for awhile, had VTOL wishlisted forever but never pulled the trigger. this reminds me alot of pilotwings (maybe the name is similar on purpose hehe). def going to check this out
I think the devs said pilot wings inspired them to make the game!
