    (Martin) I remember buying the GameCube with this game I was 13 or so, and inviting family friends over to show it off... it was the coolest thing to hear the amazing sound effects. It was awe inspiring and revolutionary that we all sat in the living room in awe.... Good times.
    To this day, this game brought great memories to me and my family/friends

      It's the first game I bought for the system purely for that reason. I remember seeing the commercials for in magazine back in the day and thinking "That can't be real. It looks too good!"

      This game was awesome when it came out. I remember my friends that had a ps2 were jealous saying "the graphics aren't good". Lol. Me and my dad played all the rogue squadron games back to the n64.

      I only had a PS2 back in the day and when I first saw the trailer for this I had the buyers remorse.

      I also think that was the main point of it. To really show off the Gamecube and show it could go toe-to-toe with the X-box and could do everything the PS2 could and more.

    My friends and I rented a gamecube (back when you could do that) to play this game when it first came out and we played it all weekend, taking turns and cheering each other on. This was my introduction to the Gamecube and I bought one used not long after. What a fantastic console.

      I have similar memories renting a Mega CD back in the day. Playing, what was then, the most arcade perfect port of Final fight.

      @@goukigod Yoy are right. Up to that point, the Sega Cd version was the best one. Fast forwarding 25 years later and we get an even BETTER version on the Capcom Beat Em Up Bundle.

    This game encapsulates SW space combat as a whole. It gives many modern space combat sci-fi games a run for their money, in that this game has the one of the best space fighter combat experiences I've ever seen. For example, when you play for the Rebel Alliance, which is the majority of the game, the enemy boss ships such as the Imperial Star Destroyers really feel like boss ships, since they have numerous gun emplacements that can shoot you down, not to mention that their weak spots are hard to hit once you've downed their shields. The enemy dogpiles you with hundreds of TIE fighters and Interceptors, you have to protect allies such as capital ships from TIE Bombers that can easily blow them to hell, and you have to use different starfighter models like the X, Y, B, and A Wings to suit your mission parameters, from space superiority, to protecting allies, to attacking enemy capital ships.
    Playing for the Empire isn't all roses and daisies either, since when you fight for the Imperials, your allies are more numerous, but weaker than the Alliance starfighters, and said starfighters have thick shields and armor, meaning that you have to focus fire on them longer for them to drop. That, and since you play as Darth Vader, and your TIE Advanced is very different from all the TIE Fighters and Interceptors flying around, the Rebel pilots can tell that you're the leader, and they'll start dogpiling YOU. It really goes to show how different the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance are in the game, since both have drastically different playstyles. The Empire goes for quantity over quality, and the Rebels are the exact opposite, forcing you to change the way you fight. That kind of nuance is lost on most modern games where two opposing sides are nearly identical.

      @@goukigod Yes, yes I have. In fact, once my copy of it stopped working, I just ordered another one from Amazon. I love the game. It expanded upon the concepts and ideas of its predecessor. It's like what Brood War was to the original Starcraft.

    (Martin) Recent PSVR squadrons game doesn’t have the size and scope that this game has. Playing story mode (in PSVR) is downright immersive as ever, but it’s lacking the grand scale that Rogue Squadrons series brought to the table... I hope our current generation can enjoy this gem and rebel strike as it was one of the best star fighter games hand down.

    What's happened to GTA is that done now? No way for you to do the new cars out or any of the exclusive cars online only? Can you not use a friends account...

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Craig Hawes It's on Hiatus until Rockstar add the Online DLC to the story. I don't have the time to grind in online to rank up enough. Unfortunately all my friends stopped playing ages ago and none of them upgraded to the ps4 version.

      +goukigod that's a massive shame, I subbed due to the GTA videos. I'm not going to unsubscribe to just a shame to see you not upload any new cars I would say 60% my cars are your designs along with my own haha

    • @goukigod
      @goukigod  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Craig Hawes I get that, it's a massive shame for me too not to be able to cover all the awesome vehicles that have been added. When the lowriders dlc was added I was astounded that some of the mods required you to be over rank 100! Unfortunately Online has been designed to cater mainly for the hardcore enthusiast, who have 10+ hours per week to sink into the game.
      Anyway thanks for supporting my channel, hopefully I'll be able to get back to GTAV car builds at some stage :)
