  • Some doctors in Portland, Ore., are offering housing as basic medical care for people living on the streets. Their treatment plan invests in getting people into their own homes, and it's saving lives.

    Also should prescribe psychotherapy, life skills coaching & support, substance abuse treatment, and safe supply of drugs.

      Without housing getting treatment is almost impossible. This program does offer treatment.

    Dignity, a place to call home and people who care. This gives me hope for our less fortunate. I think this is Finland's model and it's been very successful.

    Do some doctors from that one kind of specialty here in Edmonton, Alberta Canada along with divorce lawyers and all of those divorce lawyer relatives too being employed to give their opinions about the same get to arbitrarily decide where some of their former patients should be housed here in Edmonton?

    I swear if I just quit my job and sold my house and spent all my equity on meth Id finally start getting appreciated by my goverment.

      It's actually cheaper for the government to spend a little money on these programs than to constantly be dealing with the other issues consequential to homelessness and substance abuse and mental illness.
