HI Roberta, I think this may be my favorite way to do the hats now, I really like the way this one looks, I am working on a baby blanket right now, when I finish I think I will follow along and try this.
+charles Moyer I like this one also, so what if there is a little more work after the mock rib, it comes out nice. But the thanks has to go to another lady that had made that hat and shown me, told me that it was in the old Brother Baby Magazine, found my paid for copy, got the pattern and where I still had out my standard machine, figured I would try it. But this can be made on all gauge machines, just make sure your stitches are a multiple of 3 stitches plus 2 and I am pretty sure it will work out. I now have the card at the end of the video where you can click on the link to go to my site of my notes and the original pattern as well. Berda
Thanks, that was a gift from one of my dearest friends from around the globe. I had never seen that before so when I received it, I was smiling from ear to ear.
Hi Roberta, I love the way this hat looks. but how many stitches do I need to fit a 1 year old. Or how to work out the number stitches needed for any size.
I will have to fool around with it, but I do have a Hat Spreadsheet Generator that may be of help. www.hobbyknitter.com/files/patterns/hat_generater.html Sheet 1 is the hat, then sheets 2, 3 and 4 are the different crowns to make. Let me know how it goes, but I will defiantly go look at the pattern for this video.
Hi Breda - Your hat is SO LOVELY! I’m interested in purchasing a knitting machine that produces tighter (smaller) stitches like the two you have featured. I own an Addi King but don’t like the larger stitches it produces for my hats. Is there a machine you might recommend for me, please? I am a beginner. Thank you!
So you will want to get a Fine or Standard gauge machine, the hat in this video was done on a standard machine, I do tend to like the fabric made on the standard but also like the thickness to the bulky or even mid-gauge machines.
@@RobertaRoseMeads Thank you so much for replying! Is there a standard gauge machine you might recommend for a beginner that is user-friendly? Last question, and thanks again!
Good evening Roberta, I'm from Brazil, and I would like to know how many points you start working for an adult cap, since I do not understand your language, thank you in advance
You can work up as many points as you want. I have seen more of 6 swirls to a Hand Knit hat and have done that along with 8 swirls but when I do what I call the Full Fashion Decrease, I like to have 4 points. But really up to you. Hope you understand what I mean, normally one will write in their language and I translate it but when I answer, I translate what I say to their language. But it looks like Google is fixing up the translations, so maybe I can get back to those once they make it easy again. Berda
Actually the translation of google is difficult, but what I would also like to know is the following, in the decrements I am not getting, I would like to know after you leave 2 points continues to decrease. until the end. I'll be waiting, hugs
Did you go to my page on this? There is a link to the original pattern but also my notes on what I did. www.hobbyknitter.com/files/patterns/just_another_hat.html Let me know if this page helps. Berda
Can you private email me as I will need more information, hobbyknitter at gmail dot com (take the spaces our and change the at to @ and the dot to .). Berda
This one here happens to be the Knit King KH710 8 push button standard machine, but guess any standard will work. And if I remember correctly, I did work up the pattern for the bulky machine on my page, should be a link somewhere in the video. Berda

Could you do those decreases with a lace carriage instead of all the manual transferring?
You sure can, that would be easier. Just use the appropriate card for it, or select the needles you want.
how much do I LOVE the dancing chick in the background...

Lovely hat, great job!
Thanks, that was in an older magazine. Someone showed it to me and wanted to have a video of it. So I did make it. I like this hat also.

thank you
Sieht sehr gut aus, passt sich der Kopfform wunderbar an
Danke, das ist von einem älteren Magazinmuster, aber ich liebe, wie es geklappt hat. Ich werde mehr von ihnen machen, wenn ich kann. Berda
Where do you buy this machine. I live in California
I get some machines off of eBay, then I found a few on Craigslist, just a matter of looking around and seeing what you want and not so costly
Hi Roberta I have a KX390 and I want to make my husband this hat how many stitches do I cast on my machine. Thank you

What name of this machine?
This machine is the Knit King KH710, pretty much the same as the Brother KH585. Hope that helps, Berda
molto bello
