ขอเล่าประวัติให้ฟังคร่าวๆ ก่อนนะครับ
NLP ถูกคิดค้นราวปี 1970 โดย “ริชาร์ด แบนเลอร์” และ “จอห์น กรินเดอร์” ทั้งคู่เป็นนักวิทยาศาสตร์ (ในสาขาที่ต่างกัน) พวกเขาค้นหาวิธีบำบัดทางจิต ที่ได้ผลเร็ว นำมาใช้ปฏิบัติได้อย่างง่ายๆ ทั้งมีประสิทธิภาพสูง
จากการทำงานร่วมกัน และไปศึกษาผู้ประสบความสำเร็จในสาขาที่หลากหลาย จึงลองผิดลองถูก จนสามารถพัฒนากระบวนการต่างๆ เพื่อนำมาแก้ไขผู้มีปัญหาทางจิตใจได้เป็นอย่างดี ทั้งช่วยให้คนเหล่านั้นสามารถบรรลุสิ่งที่ปรารถนา ได้อย่างไม่น่าเชื่อ
ต่อมา ผู้เข้าร่วมงานสัมมนาคนหนึ่งของเขา ก็ทำให้ NLP มีชื่อเสียงแพร่กระจายไปมากขึ้น...

mainly spread in the form of easy-reading books and training programmes aimed at helping people to achieve change and success. Even the self-help author Tony Robbins originally started out teaching people NLP techniques until a lawsuit in the late 1980s (brought by NLP co-creator Richard Bandler). In an out-of-court settlement, Robbins agreed to pay The Society of NLP $200 for every person that Robbins certified in NLP. Soon after the settlement, Robbins stopped training people in NLP techniques and instead created his own method, which he called Neural Associative Conditioning (NAC).

What is the modern psychological view of NLP?
Researchers and qualified psychologists are mostly damning about NLP. In a 2019 paper published in International Coaching Psychology Review, a group of experts wrote that: “there are many critics of NLP who view NLP as variably a pseudoscience, pop psychology or even a cult, with no evidence base for its effectiveness.”
Based on their own investigations of 90 articles that they found on the topic of NLP, they concluded: “In summary, there are no empirical studies that offer evidence for the effectiveness of coaching based solely on NLP tools and techniques.”

There is no scientific evidence supporting the claims made by NLP advocates, and it has been discredited as a pseudoscience.[11][12][13] Scientific reviews state that NLP is based on outdated metaphors of how the brain works that are inconsistent with current neurological theory and contain numerous factual errors.[10][14] Reviews also found that all of the supportive research on NLP contained significant methodological flaws and that there were three times as many studies of a much higher quality that failed to reproduce the "extraordinary claims" made by Bandler, Grinder, and other NLP practitioners.[12]
