Is there a counterpicking issue in the current meta? I'd say so. That being said, a single hero countering you is nothing insurmountable so long as you don't try to engage them head-on.
A counter picking “issue”? Overwatch has had counter swaps since day 1. But only at the highest level of play. Anything outside of top 500 and it isn’t a counter swap issue, it’s a skill issue. Accurate play cannot be countered.
Just because someone counter swaps it doesn't mean they know how to play the hero. If someone swaps to your "counter" then you see their profile and they have only 2 hours on the hero....lol. So much of the tank 1v1 is your mental and creativity to approaching problems that seem insurmountable such as counter swaps.
Usually I try to counterswap the enemy getting them most value. If I see a genji rolling my team and a Lucio being a nuisance, I’ll swap Winston and make it work.
People go immediately to counter swapping rather than counter playing. I.e thinking of swapping in JQ vs Dva when they could actually just hold high ground
Did the blue team Moira ever intentionally heal the tank? Feels like we need to start having a "tiktok Moira" counter on these spectating bronze videos
I’m pretty sure she healed a bunch. It’s a bronze game, so she’s not playing perfect but you also have to take into account that the blue team’s support comp is ana-moira. Ana’s probably doing the bulk of the heals.
Question: you talk about taking high ground a lot, but when I play dva I always feel like between damage falloff and the huge spread, using primary fire high ground just does like 2 damage per second. How do you like, accomplish things from high ground as dva?
if you are there, they can’t be there, it’s about taking position and applying pressure, since you have jet packs you should take high ground, although be it for 10 seconds. you can play off of high ground 👍
With Dva you’re able to boost back up onto the high ground. You can fall off and get a pick on a squishy character and fly back up onto the high ground. You’re giving your team high ground and space, as well as distance.
That seems to be a common thing with low rank tank players. Rein's play style is the default play style no matter what tank they pick. They'll even play Winston like he's rein....
I don't think counter swapping matters in lower ranks as much as people think they it does. Your positioning, use of cover, and just general game sense will win you more games if you actually try to improve by being willing to look for your own mistakes.
In season 3, as a dva main I had a weird surge of people that would counter swap Zarya. I did better on dva during the Zarya meta than season 3.
