He sings in 12 languages but speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, has rudimentary Chinese and his English continues to improve by leaps and bounds (especially now that he is in LA working with various producers) He just turned 29 at the end of May. He was 22 in this video and has been singing since the age of 5. He is opera trained but can sing multiple genres: opera, pop, rock, rap, musical theatre, r & b. Dimash speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently he is learning English and Mandarin and he sings in 14/15 languages his fans are called Dears because he said his fans are as Dear to him as his family (I think he has 3 more Dears) he is very humble and down to earth his Pride is his Country Kazakhstan his people and most important his family.
He said he's not learning Mandarin and he only knows a few phrases. I think he's at the point where we can say he speaks English. He just needs to speak it more often for it to roll off his tongue a bit more easily.

Dimash is fluent in Kazak and Russian. Has become pretty good in English and picked up some Chinese during the months he was in China, where he now visits at least twice a year. He sings in many languages my phonetic learning but insists on understanding each song he sings. He is not just a singer but also an extraordinary entertainer.

Dimash was age 22 in this video. He is currently 29. Dimash is considered the greatest singer in the world with an octave range of over 7 octaves. He began his classical/operatic vocal and instrument training at age five and continued fulltime training until age 25. Still visiting great vocal coaches from time to time as he travels the world. He is from Kazakstan and is Eurasian by ethnicity. Tall, at 6'3" and very athletic. He did not win this competition because he is not Chinese and you must be Chinese to win though he was heads and tales above the other contestants. Dimash completed his Doctoral studies in music this spring and almost immediately moved to L.A. to study at the L.A. campus of The N.Y. School of Fine Arts in Film Directing. I cannot even imagine how high his IQ is but he is brilliant. He is kind, loving, a philanthropist and very close to his family. Grandmothers, Parents, Siblings, Family friends and most of his band and backup singers are people he attended music school with in Kazakhstan. He adores children and babies. Widely known to be walking through an airport full of his fans, and spotting a little one and just pick them up, and carry them around as he greets his "Dears". He did this with his siblings as they were born and growing up. Oh, and you have not see anything yet. He is so far superior now to this performance you just watched.
One correction: he's not studying at LA Film School. He gave this scholarship to another young person and focused on his PhD and developing his musical talent and working in the studio on new songs 💓

all the other competitors are professional musicians & have been as long as 30 yrs for some - every single one of them is elite..... the woman who won was phenomenal.... Dimash was the only amateur & was admitted as a wildcard..... British singer Jessie J won the 2018 season... Dimash has grown into the best in the world - but he's still young in 2017 - a diamond in the rough so to speak but his insane talent.... the lady who won deserved to win & that doesn't take anything away from Dimash as he became an immediate phenomenon w/ the Chinese population
The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. The Singer , it was a Chinese show for highly respected singers to compete, Dimash was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. Dimash is a world class artist from Kazakhstan, turned 29 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, he also performs in concerts with the famous Ukrainian/Russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. Dimash was 22 years old this show. Dimash met jessie j in the show in 2018. Dimash range is out is world(Dimash's vocal range still mystery but close 7 octaves). You see nothing yet he is a vocal beast and still improve. He can morr low notes and more long mix voice rock voice operatic baritone and soprano voices and whistle tones even piano off. 👍 He is 29 years old now.

My own personal favourite is Opera 2 by Dimash. The final moments of it are like reactors going No he isnt and him going "yes I am!" He is phenomenal and it's a crime that he's not more famous in the west.

Great reaction...about the same way I felt the first time I heard SOS from him 🙂. Get ready for tons of response from the Dimash fandom! (referred to as "dears" by Dimash). So I've listened to just about everything from him on youtube and this is my advice on the Dimash progression in this order: "Sinful Passion"(performed in Sochi..get the one with subtitles ) , then "Opera 2" (that one is just fun! And is from this same competition show you just watched for SOS), then "Stranger" (that one he sings in English) then "Ave Maria" (not the Ave Maria you you know of btw.....just the same title). SOS made him famous but I think Sinful Passion is as impressive! It is a beautiful song and also highlights his stage presence and ability as a performer. One thing about Dimash is he is the whole package...he doesn't just sing the songs he lives them in his performances.
Great reaction ladies! This contest in China and performance were the world's introduction to Dimash. He instantly became a sensation in China. The individuals shown frequently were his competition in the contest, all reknowned singers in China. Dimash was the first performer and none of the singers knew much about him. Can you imagine how they felt listening to him and knowing they were next to sing? BTW, he did come in second place.
In watching the entire 14 episodes of this TV series competition, it was evident the votes were carefully modified by the show's producers to allow Dimash votes to win enough times and come in second just enough to keep him on the show and place second overall. The audience/judges reaction to his performances never matched the total votes Dimash received. Dimash was completely unexpected. 😂 Someone mentioned that the producers apologized to Dimash after the show ended. Dimash's 10 million fans in China were not happy. 🙄

This performance was his first in the 2017 Chinese talent show named "I Am Singer." He was 22 years old at the time. He had jet lag and a bit of a cold during this performance. Who is Dimash? Beginning his singing career at age 5, his range extends from the top of the bass register to the highest notes of the coloratura soprano and whistle register. His first digital music album "ID" went platinum in only 37 seconds after release, and 3x platinum in only one hour, and 5x platinum in only one day on Chinese music platforms. Dimash sings in 14 languages, plays 7+ musical instruments, is a composer, an amazing vocalist, patriot, philanthropist and a very warm and humble person. In December 2019, he made his US debut in New York at the Barclays Center. His concert sold out in 10 minutes on LiveNation! Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries, 43 states & 2 US territories, and was sold out. At age five Dimash was accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country. Now writing his Doctoral thesis for a PhD in Musicology/ Composing, received all his degrees with honors while simultaneously filling arenas and maintaining his performing career, a first! As I'm sure others have mentioned, he has been studying music since he was 5 years old. You're right, you have to invent words to describe his effect! The general term in use for "Dimashsmacked" is "Dimashified" but I'm sure it can use a synonym! He speaks three languages, Kazakh (his native language), Russian and quite a lot of English (though at the time of the video he didn't speak English yet, just a few words. That performance was in 2017, he was 22. The competition was for well-known, established singers and he was entered as a "dark horse, " as a result of his win in Slavic Bazaar. He was the first performer. I cannot imagine having to follow him. The other singers were probably ready to just turn around and leave. He came in 2nd and from then on Dimash conquers the world. This is the tip of the iceberg. He sings in 12 languages but speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, has rudimentary Chinese and his English continues to improve by leaps and bounds (especially now that he is in LA working with various producers)

Dimash speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently he is learning English and Mandarin and he sings in 14/15 languages his fans are called Dears because he said his fans are as Dear to him as his family (I think he has 3 more Dears) he is very humble and down to earth his Pride is his Country Kazakhstan his people and most important his family.
And he's 'this' close to being fluent in English. He speaks it better than a lot of Americans I know! 😅
He said he's not learning Mandarin and he only knows a few phrases. I think he's at the point where we can say he speaks English. He just needs to speak it more often for it to roll off his tongue a bit more easily.

all the other competitors are professional musicians & have been as long as 30 yrs for some - every single one of them is elite..... the woman who won was phenomenal.... Dimash was the only amateur & was admitted as a wildcard..... British singer Jessie J won the 2018 season... Dimash has grown into the best in the world - but he's still young in 2017 - a diamond in the rough so to speak but his insane talent.... the lady who won deserved to win & that doesn't take anything away from Dimash as he became an immediate phenomenon w/ the Chinese population
The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. He is from Kazakhstan and was the youngest ever competitor in 2017 at only 22 years old. This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition. He started his doctorate in Musicology.He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respectfully turned it down to pursue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 15 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. He is kind, humble, generous and modest, very elegant and very tall, Dimash is 6ft 3, 1/4.
Dimash recently moved to Los Angeles to attend the L.A. branch of The New York School of Fine Arts, majoring in Film Directing. This on the tail end of completing his Doctoral Studies and dissertation. He is a force of nature.

Dimash speaks only Russian fluently in addition to his mother tongue, and then he studies English and Mandarin. However, he sings in 14 languages now. Dimash was 22 years old when he, as the first foreigner, was invited as a participant in this Chinese singing competition "Singer"2017. He was the youngest contestant among professional Chinese singers. Dimash was 22 years old this show. Dimash met jessie j in the show in 2018. Dimash range is out is world(Dimash's vocal range still mystery but close 7 octaves). You see nothing yet he is a vocal beast and still improve. He can morr low notes and more long mix voice rock voice operatic baritone and soprano voices and whistle tones even piano off. 👍 He is 29 years old now.
This is "The Singer" (2017 - China). They told him not to sing in French, that the audience was not going to engage. That night, with this performance, he became famous in China.

Great reaction...about the same way I felt the first time I heard SOS from him 🙂. Get ready for tons of response from the Dimash fandom! (referred to as "dears" by Dimash). So I've listened to just about everything from him on youtube and this is my advice on the Dimash progression in this order: "Sinful Passion"(performed in Sochi..get the one with subtitles ) , then "Opera 2" (that one is just fun! And is from this same competition show you just watched for SOS), then "Stranger" (that one he sings in English) then "Ave Maria" (not the Ave Maria you you know of btw.....just the same title). SOS made him famous but I think Sinful Passion is as impressive! It is a beautiful song and also highlights his stage presence and ability as a performer. One thing about Dimash is he is the whole package...he doesn't just sing the songs he lives them in his performances.

Great reaction ladies! This contest in China and performance were the world's introduction to Dimash. He instantly became a sensation in China. The individuals shown frequently were his competition in the contest, all reknowned singers in China. Dimash was the first performer and none of the singers knew much about him. Can you imagine how they felt listening to him and knowing they were next to sing? BTW, he did come in second place.
In watching the entire 14 episodes of this TV series competition, it was evident the votes were carefully modified by the show's producers to allow Dimash votes to win enough times and come in second just enough to keep him on the show and place second overall. The audience/judges reaction to his performances never matched the total votes Dimash received. Dimash was completely unexpected. 😂 Someone mentioned that the producers apologized to Dimash after the show ended. Dimash's 10 million fans in China were not happy. 🙄

This performance was his first in the 2017 Chinese talent show named "I Am Singer." He was 22 years old at the time. He had jet lag and a bit of a cold during this performance.
Who is Dimash? Beginning his singing career at age 5, his range extends from the top of the bass register to the highest notes of the coloratura soprano and whistle register. His first digital music album "ID" went platinum in only 37 seconds after release, and 3x platinum in only one hour, and 5x platinum in only one day on Chinese music platforms. Dimash sings in 14 languages, plays 7+ musical instruments, is a composer, an amazing vocalist, patriot, philanthropist and a very warm and humble person. In December 2019, he made his US debut in New York at the Barclays Center. His concert sold out in 10 minutes on LiveNation! Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries, 43 states & 2 US territories, and was sold out. At age five Dimash was accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country. Welcome to the wonderful and amazing world of Dimash! He was 22 in this video and is now 29. And you are in luck because he has LOTS of songs equally as beautiful as this one! As I'm sure others have mentioned, he has been studying music since he was 5 years old. You're right, you have to invent words to describe his effect! The general term in use for "Dimashsmacked" is "Dimashified" but I'm sure it can use a synonym! He speaks three languages, Kazakh (his native language), Russian and quite a lot of English (though at the time of the video he didn't speak English yet, just a few words. He sings mainly in Kazakh, Russian, Chinese and English but has sung in about 15 languages so far I think. Can't wait to watch you enjoy his other songs! 🇨🇦

Me lleva a pensar en la voz de Dimash y el elemento terapéutico que supuestamente tiene en muchas personas. Dimash is truly a once in a lifetime talent and just an overall beautiful person!! This was the first performance I seen of him and I fell in love immediately. Had no subtitles but didn't need them I felt what he was singing. Please react to more of Dimash he has an amazing catalogue!!
