Skillet!! In my current 7.x playthrough, I setup a laser tower defense blockade in Hatikvah's Choice I in front of the gate to Tharka's Cascade XV, and I have been capping SE's and PE's like a fiend. Occasionally they will send a K or an I through the gate, so my big ships can jump on the capital vessels as they come in, but these guys leave the smaller craft alone and since they are in the vicinity of the blockade the laser towers either shred them of force them to bail. I have these captured ships all working for my factories so I don't have to sorry about buying replacements ever, LOL! Keep up the great work, your videos are excellent!
Heck yeah!!! How many towers do you have up? I’ve been finding more bailing due to laser towers verse anything else. So…. Maybe… maybe there is a sweet spot for towers and bailing ships?!
@@T-Skillet I haven't really counted, but I know I have placed 4 S ship loads worth of towers in about a 5KM range around the front of the gate, and I just replace a few here and there to fill in any big gaps. I don'[t really care if they destroy the invading craft or not, but I am pleased that I continue to capture a bunch of M class ships. The S Xenon ships prefer to fight it out and die, so that's fine as I would only sell those off anyway, or use them as targets for fleets. Also, I go in and capture those abandoned ships myself to prevent marines from destroying the equipment they are carrying, which is one mechanic I wish could be patched out. If I can cap a ship without damaging it, then surely a Marine should be able to do the same, that's like Boarding 101 I would think . . .
Personally, u love using split minmers and traders, they are superquick and their survivavility is really good Put them some split combat engines and make em flee when encounter with any threat, and they will almost always escape You just need to help them patrol their sectors against the xenon, cause without the player help its gonna be a mess

Understand you need to go out in space suit and Scan to get100 percent Mission no reputation loss for destroying ship wile on mission . Exeryone sets up A station. But they look like money pits . Hopefully fun! 🚔 As for stations being money pits…. It depends on your universe. Finding the right product as well. It will change throughout your play thought based off need/want.You can always start small energy cell factory then work and built up from there. Everyone needs energy!
Does X4 have decent tutorials now? I played a couple years ago, and i really enjoyed it. But I remember being really frustrated trying to learn things, and the friend that helped me out back then isnt around anymore.
Well, actually it's 7.10 already :P Will have to give SE a try for my next one. Thou there are so many easy ways to get couple millions early game and buy proper miners. But maybe for my Terran timelines + Xenon ships only play :)
Skillet Are you saying that you could Initially just spam out Medium Miners, across the sectors (Strategically), to trade with any station buying for a good while? Then you could just assign a few protection fleets and.... just become a goat hearder thennnnn? LOL
@@T-Skillet Hey Skillet So awhile back I was bitching about missile boats. asking you for a good setup...? I was basically not trusting my missile ships equipped with missles where not using them at all. I found this was true because I didn't state in the design to have them auto loaded to use. Thus they where not being launched during a fight. I assumed if you have a launcher and a single type of missile on board, that the ship would auto load and use that ammo. Wrong. You have tell the ship to load any ammo. before a fight.... Now I'm running 15 ship bomber wings with Hvy Dumfires and Smart missles and am having solid successes....
@@YukonJack88 If you have an Aux ship and set resupply to medium or High they will resupply with the Aux ship. Or they should, as long as the Aux can make the missiles. I find my M class bombarders lack missiles cause the Aux ship can't make them due to storage issues.
@@T-Skillet Frankly I'm not interested in that degree of simulation, in terms of having to constantly reload my Missile ammo. I use the auto reload mod to handle that now. I tried using a Aux ship and it randomly flew several systems over and it got blow up..... I couldn't just get it to move to safety. I have since found a mod to get ship to directly move to where I want them to go regardless... which should be in the base game.

In my experience the sweetspot is around 150. More will just kill the M class ships, fewer may fail to dismantle all the s class ships in a patrol

I thought that happened regardless of marine or not! I love having a free supply of M ships…. Really! Ans ones that come fully equipped!!! Heck yeah!

Love split ships, one of my favourites, the trick is that they need a lot of help from the player in order not to get destroyed by the xenon

Once only seen this happen once… But. The free families got help with Teladi and kept the Xenon at bay. Super unexpected!!

I think so! They cover a wide range of topics that get reinforced either with the guided starts or Timelines DLC.

I'm still too deep in my Interworlds playthrough to get into 7.0. Looking forward to it once the Vong finish pushing in my poo.
I do want to start a series of Interorlds! I Enjoy it, i bet the improvements with 7.10 are nice too.
