As a little white body growing up, I listened to southern gospel. Charles Johnson & Teddy Huffman opened my eyes to black gospel… been playing bass for 30+ years now.
Bless you brother! I'm the bassist that played for Teddy for close to ten years. God is still being exalted and Jesus still lives forever more!! Stay encouraged and keep pluckin'!!
There will never be another Teddy Huffam and the Gems! Nobody could do "Gone" like these guys! And, to see Anthony Burger at the piano!!! Woe. Hold my mule! Loving this!!!
Teddy would usually play the piano himself. The piano player was Anthony Burger, well known pianist in Southern gospel. He had a heart attack while playing an event and died on stage.
@@oldblackstock2499 Anthony Burger was indescribably amazing on the piano. I’m pretty sure he died on a Gaithersburg gospel cruise. It was a live even, but I’m almost positive it was during a live event on a cruise like that.
One of my favorite groups when I was younger, very anointed singers. What surprises me is that they're singing about a risen Savior and no one is standing and worshipping with the Gems.
Unfortunately much of the church in North America has become an entertainment center rather than a worship center. Consequently, those in attendance become more enthralled in the performance of the individual on the platform rather than the person who died and rose again for our justification before a Holy God. Don't be surprised, you just might be one of the remnant.
That was Anthony Burgers on the piano. He died at age 44 of a heart attack. So young!!!However; my Mama died at age 54 while worshiping God in a church service. 😢
I saw these guys guys years ago at all not singing by The Bay Florida I like the way they do gone and I like the way they do John the revelator oh I like that they get down on that
TEDDY HUFFAM AND THE GEMS WERE INCREDIBLE ON THIS CLASSIC SONG! WOW!
BEAUTIFUL, AWESOME, AND, TERRIFIC!
Teddy Huffam and the Gems were fabulous! Still love their sound and miss them! 👍🏻🎅👍🏻
What anointed singing!

Same. My dad’s favorite group was Teddy Huffam and the Gems. This is one of my all time favorites.

We need another group like Teddy Huffam and The Gems to emerge onto the scene.
Fantastic favorite, sorely missed
Being from near Philly. PA. at one time this music was very popular & what I listened to on the radio growing up. I love this video.
If you can’t feel the Spirit listening to them you may not have it. Be blessed
It will be great to hear him one day again in Heaven. Huge loss.
