Lovely video. It's as beautiful as I remember. I didn't want to be impressed with Versailles. I tried hard to not be impressed. I was impressed. And I only got through the main areas of the palais, not the gardens, Peter Trianon, or the hamlet.
What a waste....the majority of people flooding the place have no idea where they are or why they are there. Piling through the various rooms and seeing absolutely nothing. That screaming baby I hear in the background has NO business being there. I loved it...I could've spent a month going from room to room imagining the language and actions and odours and sounds of the days and nights. The panic, inside, when the mobs came to the gates....the founding of the German Empire. The years when no one came to visit, the roof was leaking in places for lack of maintenance. If I could only get to visit it alone......for one week.
