    Thanks. I've been flipping thru YT reviews of the top selling bike cases/bags. Maybe you just present it well but this so far is looking to be my best choice. (Edit - glad you included the 3 drawbacks at the end. Biggest issue here for me will be does it fit in my wife's Highlander or my Uber to/from airport.)

    I did build my T1500 bike with external cable routing (with a normal stem and handle bar) only for the purpose to make it fit my B&W Bike Box 2 when i have to take a flight.
    And i have a soft Decathlon bike bag when traveling by car or train.
    I much prefer a hard bike case for flights, it's way more safer !

      @jarofranta153 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya, way more safer for the bike.
      But the baggage handler idiots can wreck hard bike cases as well - and those are not cheap.
      Speaking from experience.
      Basically, we have a choice between which of the two we would rather not have damaged - the bike or the case.
      It gets expensive either way.

    I'm considering either this or Scicon Aerocomfort. Not sure if it will fir regular VW Polo size car with backseats folded down.

    Should it fit canyon grail with hover bar (44cm on top and 51 cm on lower grip?)

    Can the rear Triangle Frame protection you showed (with velcro) be mounted lower down (to protect the derailer? (thank you for nice video)?

    • @soco702
      @soco702 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, if you pull the bike further back you can place it inside the triangle.

    For bikes with integrated cables or hoses going through the head tube, this is the solution.
    You should see if it fits in an ordinary compact car (putting the back seat down, removing the wheels) if you travel with the bag rolled up (storage mode) and the bike in the back with both wheels removed. Perhaps 15 minutes of packing work at the airport to pack it, but would save you the trouble of having to rent a van.
    The one vulnerable part in the design I notice, is the zipper. If just a few teeth get damaged at the corner or on the side, it renders the thing unusable. I think a zipper recessed by bumpers the corners would be an improvement.

    A big PITA at oversize check-in (YUL) is that they always ask you to take everything that is not part of the bike out of the box, to run through their scanner separately.
    In your case, I'm guessing that would mean all the plastic wrapping and clothes bag.
    By the way, I use a rigid box, fairly heavy, so definitely have to check-in another piece of luggage.
    My trips are usually several months, so I pack more anyway - no chance of going with just one check-in.
    Bonne voyage !
    PS. Charles, got any updates on the Bromont track? ....are they putting the top surface panels on? Thnx

      THanks for sharing!! YUL are sooooooo picky and dicks most of the time with bike bags.
      I think it's still on ''track'' for the velodrome to be ready in september!

    Non pivoting electronic shifter levers are not well protected though - i have a 42mm bar, and I can gently squeeze the sides of the box by hand, and already pressing against the levers.
    Otherwise, super comfortable and strong bag

    Do you not have problems with airlines stacking luggage’s on the side of the soft part of the evoc case?

      I borrowed one of these from a friend for a recent trip which included 4 flights. Absolutely no issues or damage. I just purchased one for my own use in the future after weighing all of the pros and cons.

    I Do not trust this bags that keep bars in tact. Friend that has similar arrangement has seen on a few occasions bars coming our bent or experiencing shear damages (carbon bars) at the stem. I have used Biknd Jetpack and that has been excellent (so far ad fingers crossed)

    Biggest problem is getting it to the airport and in the transfer car to your location at the other end.
