I'm surprised how much faith you put in these soft bags after what happened to your Garneau.

Hey Charles, quick question that you don’t mention in the video: is the bike protected well enough in that case? Airline companies can be really rough with regular luggage (despite the mention Therapy Equipment), so I’m not sure I would feel comfortable with a brand new carbon bike in that case.

It really depends on whether you have hydraulic hoses going through the headtube. If you do, then removing the fork is not really an option, so you have to go with a big Evoc style bag. For rim brakes, fork removal is maybe 10 minutes and you've got the advantage of being able to better protect it. One disadvantage of not declaring the bag as a bike, is that if it is treated like a suitcase, other suitcases can be piled on top. This is the NORMAL way to load bags on an airplane, so as to keep the bags from shifting around. Your bike can therefore be crushed. If you say it is a bike and the box is big, greater care will be taken to move and load it separately, going through oversized baggage.

Nice to see a bike bag video that addresses the issue of dealing with the empty bag at your destination.
If you change locations there, it can be a real hassle

Thank for the demo on Orucase bike bag. I like it, so compact.

removing the fork seems like a step too far.

Agreed.....it's a great size bag but I have hydraulic brakes and the hose runs through the fork. Can't take that apart to put it in a bag, as Charles mentions.

How do you feel about the bag a year later? I did my first flight with my bike and a regular bike box, and it was a pita. This bag looks like a great solution if it keeps the bike safe. I really want a brompton for traveling, but at the moment can’t afford one. This bag looks like a great alternative

mate, this is a bit an apples and oranges comparison, without pointing out to your audience why. hard cases, or in the case of the evoc pro which is semi-hard, provide much better protection for the expensive bike within. this comes with a sacrifice of higher weight and cost, typically. if we could all travel care-free while using soft cases, most of us would opt for this. and you should btw be able to travel with your evoc pro and still stay within the 23kg weight limit, if the additional fees are a big detriment to you.

He traveled with a less expensive bike in the soft case

Check back in with us after you have thoroughly tested it and know that it reliably protects the bike after several trips.

I bought the case but cannot figure out how to zipper the hard wall to the case. Is there any other instruction manual or video?

If its a bike they will charge, you can call it what ever you want but if they look inside game over. With integrated cockpits this system is too much a hassle IME. I have found the smaller the bike bag the more they stack other things on the bag, if its a large bag it has a chance of being treated different. the use of disk brakes and integrated cockpits are better suited with other systems......sorry

From what I understand the B2 is still more than 62 in.³ so certain airlines that I’ve traveled on have dismissed the idea that it’s a therapy bag or blah blah blah and said well whatever it is it’s more than 62 in.³ so give me $75. For oversized bag…Thank you very much.”
