    I tried this yesterday, a day that was raining hard most of the day. It worked to a point but I had to use the hair dryer on warm and had to hold it there more than a couple minutes. After a few minutes I figured mine was too wet or worn that this couldn't fix the situation permanently and gave up for the day and started looking for a replacement button panel for my ViewSonic flatscreen TV. I wasn't having the greatest luck finding a 7 button panel that matched so I gave it a rest. This morning I turned on the TV out of habit and began working in the kitchen and it took a minute or two for me to realize the sound was back on. I grabbed the remote and there it was! I took it up and it stayed there. I took it down and went back and it stayed where I put it! I'm very pleased I won't be buying a part for a TV I now don't have to crack open and fix! Thank you for your excellent video!

    Thank you. Would've never thought this solution myself.
    The set I were trying to fix is an old Hisense LED 32 LEDN32A300J which all of a sudden
    had it's volume automatically going down. Just searching for a Factory reset instructions took me half a day and than when found It didn't help. Already thought to throw the set and get a new one... In Short, found that the Aircon unit that throw air directly at the back of the TV set has wormed the control buttons and probably mangled their position. Sine this specific set allow to remove the buttons unit with one screw, took it out, cleaned with compressed air, and then used hot air blower to pull a little the buttons. TV works for the last 4 hours just fine...
    Kudos to you.

    • @IsInteresting
      @IsInteresting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like your comment as it shows different scenarios. I suggest giving your remote a good cleaning first as it might be dirty and the buttons might be sticking in the depressed position. Also try a very new battery set so that there is adequate power. Other than that try a new remote and test that out. I find that programable remotes are not the best as they loose a few buttons. So try to get the real thing. Also determine if the malfunction is constant or periodic. If periodic your remote might be at the end of life. All the best with your fix.

    Hi there i have also a Samsung tv but i can't get any sound whatsoever i don't know why i have done a sound reset and a full factory reset and still nothing, can you shed any light on the matter? thanks in advance

    • @IsInteresting
      @IsInteresting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Marky not too sure what might be going on with your TV but I had another Samsung TV very similar to the one in the video and the sound would periodically cut out on it too. Basically, I turn it on and no sound. Not like I had sound then it cuts out. Just starts with no sound. What I did in those cases I just turned the TV on and off and the sound came back. However, you mentioned already that you did something like that. Perhaps you can 1. press the mute button on and off in the remote as maybe it is stuck causing the TV to go mute. 2. Plug in external speakers and see if you get sound out of those speakers. I am thinking if this works something is wrong at the button level since it will still output a sound signal to external speakers. Check also that no external speakers are connected and sound directed only to them. 3. Try my solution with the hair dryer on the buttons and see if that fixes anything. Keep trying for awhile and remember to take breaks as not to overheat anything and damage may occur. I find it sometimes takes a few tries. 4. Unplug the TV completely out of the wall and let it rest for awhile or a day at least. I am thinking you need to do some sort of hard reset on the TV not sure if this is the same as you mentioned. This is what I would do.
      If the solutions don't work perhaps there is something more that would need fixing in the TV?
      All the best in the repair. Remember you fix at your own risk. Thanks

      @IsInteresting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. You can keep trying for a longer time as it may need more time. However please be careful as if it gets too hot you may damage or melt something. Another method if you are comfortable is to open the TV and permanently disconnect the buttons. There is usually a wire connector that attaches the buttons to the main board. You can try disconnecting it at the connector. Thereafter, you can just use your remote control. By disconnecting the buttons permanently, it won't make the TV act funny or interfere with what you wanted to do on the remote. Remember to disconnect all the power before working on the TV. You also do this all at your own risk of any damage or injury etc. I hope this helps. Thanks.

      Thanks for commenting. It does not work sometimes the very first time. You may need to repeat the procedure a few times. Also you have to make sure it is not too hot. Also it depends on the style of buttons. They have to be a typical style where they are open with gaps. I have another TV where the buttons are sealed and seem to be activated by touch or heat from my fingers. Remember you fix at your own risk here. All the best on your fix.

    • @IsInteresting
      @IsInteresting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's sad to hear. It does work for many people. I would keep on trying and pause for awhile, test and try again. Repeat that a few times. Reason you may have more dust or moisture in the buttons and need more time on it. You need to take pauses and test it out as you don't want it to get too hot. If this does not fix the problem, it might be something else. Remember you fix at your own risk. Best of luck on this.

      @@bythebloodofsanguinius2069 Hi there is no video for disconnecting the buttons but I do have another video on how I originally took the TV apart. You can find it in my channel. Sorry I don't have the actual link handy here. As for disconnecting the buttons you can look for a clip of some kind on the wire that comes out of the button components. It should be very easy to disconnect. However you may or may not have to unscrew the buttons to get to the wire. Remember it's all at your own risk here. Thanks

    My volume goes up by itself when I put the batteries in the remote

      Sounds like your remote needs repair or replacement. Hide the remote away from the TV and replace the batteries. The TV will not respond as the remote is not around. Try and clean the buttons on your remote as the buttons might be stuck due to dirt etc. Mention how this works and thanks very much for your comment as it helps others out.

      I have a Samsung older tv ( about ten years). I think it may be a 46"-50". Recently, the volume goes up and down just slightly and it's starting to bug me. Any ideas. I think it may be an internal board that is going bad.

      Ummm not too sure what's going on. Give my solution a try and see if there is any improvement. I heard of others in the comments and videos just disconnect the buttons and start using the remote only. The best of luck on your fix.

    It worked for about an hour, I have to do it at least 8 times a day 😫

      Ummm that's strange it usually works for longer. Try doing the procedure longer or try my other method in my other video. However you will have to take the TV apart. Remember you fix at your own risk here. Thanks for your comment.
