- Hi in this vlog I am traveling from Lachen, Sikkim to Gurudongmar Lake which is situated at the altitude of 17,800 ft. I did this journey on 8th of October 2018.

lucky to get permission for using actioncam after the final army check post. I was sternly told by the army personnel not to use actioncam last October & they also didn't allow us to go to tso lhamo.
Did Ladakh in mid june last year & believe me the lachen gurudongmar stretch is no less challenging.

lovely roads, magical mountains, rivers and greens, I must do this drive very soon
I was there a fortnight ago and it was fun. rains had made the journey difficult and treacherous but on the day of Gurudongmar ride weather was clear just loved it.
only few bikers explain elaborately the way the plan u r one of them that's a true rider not like ones wo start from a point and reach at a particular point just achieving kms

Gurudongmar lake is the 2nd highest lake in india..the highest being Tso Lhamo lake which is just 5-6kms away from Gurudongmar lake.Civilians are not allowed to visit due to the close proximity to the chinese border but i have seen many people putting up videos about it.i think they got special permission from the army.

Hi. Please tell me how to plan Gurudongmar. I guess its better to take hired vehicle, than own sedan from Gangtok. Can it be done from Gangtok? Are there places to stay near Gurudongmar or u have to return same day? Plz suggest.

@@maidulnawab9528 chances are very less. But the road condition will b much better at that time of the year. Instead u can go last week of March or 1 st week of april(chances of getting snow much higher at that time). There is a 30% chance that roads may be blocked due to snow at that time though.
