I started watching your content due to a rabbit hole involving both anthropology and psychology. Your life story is an inspiration to me... I feel that the future lies in our ability to find the truth of happiness in how all scientific fields will overlap. It is kinda hard to put into words as a TH-cam comment... nonetheless... you are officially one of my idols ❤️

Peter Levine is an avatar of healing and transformation. His books awakened my brain & his presence & teachings changed my life & inspired me to become an SEP. Tomorrow I finish my faculty hours with a double session with the Man himself. I couldn't have a better ending to this amazing journey. Eternal gratitude from the millions Dr. Levine has helped. God bless you for your legacy of love, wisdom and grace to humanity Dr. Lavine.

I’m a somatic practitioner who can’t , at this juncture, find a therapist or afford one. Neither can I afford the SE training . I hope that changes. In the meantime, it’s so important to make this wisdom available to everyone. Thank you so much for doing just that !

100%. I am a manual therapist and trauma recovery coach, have taken all the trainings I can afford, and have a lot of my own experience with clients and myself, but can't afford SE right now. Good news is that we can learn a LOT from free trainings like this, from books, especially from self practice and working with clients. I couldn't agree with you more, this work needs to be made available to way more people, not just training the wealthy to treat the wealthy. Thanks so much to the institute for sharing this video!

My familiar belly pain bothered me, when I started watching. I did all the movements and the sound, as if I was the client - and at the very end of the first session the pain was released. For years now I have been learning so much from you through your books, it gave me so much reassurance, because I experience precisely what you talk about and teach. Understanding what is going on inside gives me great confidence and a healthy pride for all the work I have done in becoming free from the many Traumas of my childhood. Your posts are such a great gift to me, thank you so much, Peter! 🙏♥🙏

Alles Liebe! 💚🙏

A big thank-you to all the participants, especially the courage of the people lending their nervous systems for the growth of us all and collective healing of trauma. It is wonderful to have access to these, as an antidote to the rise of the more top down approaches. SE continues to support my own growth, and I appreciate the delicate and nuanced work that is shared here.

I've only watched a few minutes so far of Allison's session and want to share something I immediately noticed and it just made me feel happy.
First of all I myself have had a lot of trauma therapy and before that years of talk therapy with a lovely woman but didn't quite know how to guide the conversation to anything like the awakenings I've experienced in EMDR with my current therapist. I also have ADHD, come across weird to people, and live a lot of my life in freeze response and fear. It's getting better though:).
Anyway... One thing I do that makes people a little weirded out by me is that when I speak with someone who doesn't make the reassuring facial expressions like you do here and, also like you do here, doesn't sprinkle in kind, engaging words like "holy sh!t" or "oh honey I hate that for you." or "Wow that's incredible" or a head nod with "uh hu" or "oh my, I can picture that little girl alone" while, like you said, allowing yourself to be touched without overwhelming the client... when the listener doesn't do these things I think they want me to hurry up and stop talking, so what do I do? I talk very fast and "Spit it Out" as my mom always told me to do. I've been accused of being on drugs and/or bipolar even by a mental health provider because of the way I speak when I feel I'm not being heard or rather I'm not wanted to be heard. I'm a bother. I'm in the way. I need to get on with it because surely this other person has so many other things to do and more interesting people to talk to.
All that to say- Good job Dr Levine. Your presence is solid. No matter who is sitting across from you they will indeed know as a fact that there is opportunity for human-connection and that their words are worth listening to, can have an affect on others, and that they can be understood by at least one person. I love your style! I'm almost 45. So many years wasted but there is hope and I know you are giving people like me opportunities to finally find contentment, awe, joy, and peace. bravo

    Lieber Peter,
Also ich konnte mein Trauma nich lösen.
    Ich habe innerlich aufgegeben.
Diese Traumatherapie war meine letze Hoffnung.
Ich wollte dir schon lange schreiben und bin froh, dass ich dies jetzt endlich loswerden kann.

Did anyone do his course and was able to regulate the Nervous system? I’m thinking about it doing his course but I’m afraid it will overwhelm me without a therapist. I don’t have money for a therapist too

I think I would begin with one of his books. And read in small pieces. If you get overwhelmed reading or trying an exercise out it down and come back to it over and over. Or get a book on audible and listen in small segments.

There are also therapists who cause anxiety fear and trauma and it has negative influence on your life and wellbeing and nervous system and you can experience nausea and feeling seasick brainfog memoryloss gloomy dizzyness and heartpalptations trembling hands and negative thinkingpatterns and in the things you are doing. They became a therapist to save probably a brothel and have b cluster characteristics and are very rough and wild. They want to make you feel bad to feel good and so you feel bad. When the therapist brought you in a tunnelvision they are always want to be right and the client is always wrong and don"t listen and life feels dull and seeking not further for a selution.

I am just discovering this work for the first time and out of curiosity standing in the kitchen made the « voooo » sound. The dog jerked up from the couch, looking really disturbed and ran away. Why could he have such a strong reaction, anyone else notice this with dogs?
