The pyrevit add on includes a tool that wipes everything except the model but any families in the model remain. Revit simply needs a protect tool like Adobe pdf so a password can be added to stop any modification / copying of components of the model.
IFC would be perfect if it worked as intended. I often see a lot of geometric info lost or unexpected results. We issue Revit files to consultants after running a dynamo script to remove all templates, annotations, certain views, families, etc. We issue IFC to builders and contractors. From my experience as a bim manager, most stolen data walks out the front door in the arms of your employees. A good approach to protect your data from your own employees is to use a library manager that monitors who is using what and store the original files in a location staff cannot access without monitoring.
Hello Balkan Architect. Very interesting subject. I'm architect and bim manager, working in architectural company. We use all families and templates I build by myself to make them more effective for our style of design and work process. I'm also thinking about protecting data. Exporting and purging is good only for single or small company. In big company you can't control all architects work there. First I'm trying to use as many as possible share parameters with copyright inside of families. Second you can turn off visibility inside of family. Most of users used to work with ready for modification families and can't remove your copyright. Of course any bim manager can use your ideas and go inside of your families and templates. Maybe good to have some place in internet where bim managers can share ideas and have some king of trade union to protect their work :)
Great to hear thet, i am bim specialist (architect), and yeah if u give the file data others can take template and families. So u are right that is a problem. :)
Have you considered incorporating file encryption so that any autodesk user ID who has not purchased a family license cannot move, copy, load, or save a family?
@@bimspecialist1800 I mean those creator's info. should be uneditable for other users (they cannot delete or edit) , only the creator can edit that information. Shared parameters can still be deleted or edited by other users.

Your videos are always helpful. I have saved many of them to watch from times to times. Thanks.

I'm encountering "File not saved" how can I fix this?
I do suggest autodesk revit should add an uneditable or sets of parameter about creator's info. for families/projects/template.
You can do it , just create shared parametera
