I got the Symmetry when I upgraded to the XS Max at Verizon. I wanted a Commuter case badly but Verizon tried telling me they didn’t make it anymore! So glad I found this video!
I have the regular defender and it’s pretty nice! Slot better quality then the old cases. Not perfect at all but it’s nice. Gives a ton of protection front and back. The front has a nice tall lip so you don’t set it down or drop it on the screen.
I have the OtterBox Defender for my iPhone X’s Max but mine has the cutout in the back for the Apple Logo an it has a clear over the cutout to keep debris out great video thanks
I’ve been rocking the completely clear version of the Symmetry. Originally went with the Speck, but OtterBox had a much better fit. Only complaint I have is the back seems to scratch pretty easily.
yes i like it to! seems better as nothing has to snap into place and the rubber should keep the plastic rim down without it coming off incase u drop it. the rubber sides help give it a firm grip which i think was a nice added toch
Using the Defender Pro w/ Tempered Glass on the XS Max. The TPU feels beefier and more rigid. Not sure if they changed the compound, but with all my previous defender cases would stretch over time. All & All... I don’t have to worry about my phone getting destroyed at work.
I’ve alway loved the Otterbox defender. I’m still using my 6s case so I’m gonna miss the screen cover. But I have heard great things about Alpha Glass 😊
only thing i dont like about the new one is the backing on the inside used to be lined with the same rubber thats on the bezels. but otterbox got rid of it to make it slimmer. but now the back of the phone sits in bare plastic :/

Hey- men can get pink cases too. 😊. They're practical when you're traveling. All.my travel lighting cords are hot pink.because when you're looking around a hotel room you're more likely to see a hot pink cord ( or neon orange or green) than a standard color like white grey or black. Same with the phone case.
Deciding between the Commuter and Symmetry for now. The symmetry was a decent midsized case, not sure if I like the changes too it this year though. The commuter has bulked up quite a bit from what it use to be too. Think I'm going symmetry for now though. Probably won't consider the Pursuit until it drops it price a bit but nice to see the much needed redesign. On the X Pursuit, it had a really awful kind of circular volume rocker that broke on the two cases I had. As well as some snap together pieces that did wear down really fast if you're a person that likes changing cases often. Also there really wasn't a solid way to open the case to get the phone out. I felt like every time the case was opened to take my phone out it damaged the case more. Seems a lot of that has been fixed but also seems they've added some bulk from the rather slim design it use to have as well.
I went with the clear Symmetry for now only because it was steeply discounted when purchased with the phone. My concern is that the clear plastic will yellow in no time.
Does any of the otters for iPhone X S max come in water proof with build on screen protector tried them all otter the only one I ever use with build in screen protector? Do they plan on bring it back any time soon?.???
The pursuit series is the biggest pain in the ass to get back together just got it today you really got to work the rubber back around the plastic.... extremely snug fit case but a pain in the ass to get your phone in and out of.... Just my experience and my opinion....
The symmetry case didn’t meet my standards. Drop protection on the clear series broke through my glass back plate and through my glass protector . Rip :c not sure if it’s less durable than the others
Always had the Commute with a good screen protector. Pursuit really isn’t that much better, and I’d say it’s worse. Defender is always in backup for days you know you’ll be going hardcore.

What's going on Randomrazr? I know you tried it with the previous versions, but have you tried the Symmetry with an edge to edge protector, like the Brando, with the Xs Max? Does it work if you have an even installation of the screen protector?
Here's a trick that I stumbled on with the new commuter case; leave the rubber piece in the hard piece and just stick your phone in the case like you would the symmetry case.
Always preferred the symmetry but not this year as it hasn’t got any plastic lining inside the case... hard polycarbonate inner back doesn’t go well with a phone that has a glass back that is 500 $ to replace....
yes i prefer the rubber backing the old cases had. it help cusion and seal the back from dust and crap from getting behind. the removal of that is prob what made it signicallty thinner. you may want to try the commuter
been rocking the commuter case for a week now. really like the newer design of it . especially since i got the max model, i conisdered it more since the phone is heavier and figured a slightly beefier case then the symmetry would be nice

I will say since they left off the screen protector on the Defender for the X and Xs, Otterbox sucks. I had to get a UB Pro (and it was only $19.99) and I am so happy I did. Just like my iPhone 7 Plus, I will probably keep this for 2 yrs and it will look as Fresh as I just bought it.😩
had to send back the original to exchange for a new one cause the glass had a nick in it. took 2 weeks to deliever a new one back and didnt want to wait any longer to make the video so had to figure something out ;)

Defender Pro is the best IMO. It’s a must if you are clumsy like me and drop your phone often. All the other cases are a bit too thin for me.

I have had otter box for years but I recently switched to I-Blason and I’m very satisfied for much cheaper I feel it’s a much more premium case.

Still protects extremely well. I had a nasty drop with my iMax. I scuffed the corners bad on my symmetry but my phone is still mint. 👍
