  • On 1st July 2024 hurricane Beryl made landfall as a category 4 destroying the sister islands of Carriacou and Petit Martinique.
    On the mainland of Grenada most of the damages to houses were on the northern side of the island, but there were loads of fallen trees all over the island.
    Here is a look at what it was like driving in the north of the island assessing the damages.

    Thank you. I was hoping to see how Mount Rose is, but it’s good to see that most people’s homes in other parts of Saint Patrick didn’t take too much damage.

      We didn’t pass inland Mt Rose way, took the coast instead.

    Bless you sir. My wife and I just got back from Grenada 2 weeks ago. We rented a car and drove all over the island. Usually when we go we stay on Mt Moritz with my wife's family but this time we stayed on Morne Jaloux. Seeing the church on Leapers Hill made it seem like we were there again.

      Hopefully when you come back it will be back to it's usually glory in the north

    You cut at Swayzeez, I take that to mean that both Swayzeez and the other guest house on the cliff facing the sea are fine.

    Thanks for the upload bro. I expected this. I'm glad more houses were not damaged. Coconut trees seem to be very wind resistant.

      Yeah coconut trees can usually handle a strong storm.

    Doc, did you get some time to drive from St. David's to St. Andrew's? Thanks once again!!

    • @drcartervet
      @drcartervet  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, the eastern main road is cleared and not too much damages in those areas. Grenville was locked up, but didn’t see any significant damage.

    Well, I see electricity lines in place, you still have green and many trees survived. I see no landslides. It was bad, but not as bad as Maria in 2017.
    I congratulate you and your government for those really steady electric lines. Hopefully you'll recover faster than we ever did.

    • @drcartervet
      @drcartervet  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The landslides were in the interior of the island.
      Most of the downed electric lines and so on as well.
      But the main damages were in the north and on the sister islands of Carriacou and Petit Martnique
      My next video should reflect what happened up there
