I Remember The Fabulous Thunderbirds at The Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles California... Go T Birds ...My Favorite Team . Roller Derby Was Wholesome Entertainment For The Whole Family.
Darlene was part of several teams, including the Bombers and Devils. They did a storyline much like the Randi Whitman situation where Georgia Hase tried to prevent Dar from skating for the T-Birds
This is Roller Games. Bill Griffiths was able to "rent" the name International Roller Derby League from Jerry Seltzer and the real Roller Derby for one year when they were on ESPN and skating out of Las Vegas.
As you know, these were staged back in those days (like pro wrestling) unlike today. As you also know, scoring is done when the jammer laps the opposing team.
@@cycologist7069 - perhaps, but today's roller derby (no caps intended) is nowhere near as entertaining. This particular "show" was NOT good, there were so many better skaters and games (not bouts) years before in the 40's - 70's.
I say tha cause the commentator s said that. Its true! He did have money in real life. And could have shiped roller games to china or shut it down fire skaters. Also during match races he had do many tricks would use foriein objets out of no wer. His body eas a progetile. He truly was a real dangerous man.. his guru stuff was scarry
They really need to bring this sport back

OMG….so many of these girls would later appear on Rollergames. I never knew Dar the Star was once on the T Birds.

Not related, I played with the Devils out of Los Angeles where I lived at the time.
comical, bad acting
Is this fake? Scripted fights?
Yeah ... back then, I think it was. They took some pretty hard bumps though.
Certainly looks like WWE lol
As you know, yes these were staged back then.
Very bad
