“The Best Waves Of Their Lives”: Perfect Cloudbreak, Fiji, March 7th, 2024

- Surfing’s fundamentally about hope. There’s always a great day around the corner. The best wave of your life is out there somewhere, waiting for you to show up. Well, here’s a story about a day when those best ever waves showed up for pretty much everyone in the lineup. A powerful Southern Ocean storm and an incredibly promising forecast ignited that hope in hundreds of hearts. The hope pulled people from near and far toward one of the finest tropical reef breaks in the world. Some plane-hopped from the other side of the planet, others loaded up a tin boat with giant boards and puttered the 30 minutes out from Viti Levu, all watched and surfed the finest and most surreal waves to break anywhere on earth so far in 2024. Watch here as Benji Brand, Parker and Conner Coffin, Kohl Christensen, Soli Bailey, Nathan Florence, Ché Slatter, Laura Enever, Mick Davey, Billy Kemper, Mesa Kunabutu, Jai Glindeman, and Mark Visser feel their hope fulfilled - and Surfline forecasters Hugh McDowell and Kevin Wallis show and tell us how it happened.

@sarrold71 That swell wasn't supposed to be that big, and the wind wasn't supposed to be that perfect. It was supposed to rain, even though rain isn't a big deal, but it's a pain for the filmers. How many times has a swell be forecasted to be XL, and it's just a little l...

I'm 55, never surfed in my life, too old, too broken to learn but holy cow watching this makes me feel ALIVE. Jealous as a big bag of jealous things. If you surf you are living life right.
I'm 62 and still catching waves. They don't have to be big to enjoy them. Never too late to learn stuff. Try a boogie board in small surf.
@@markmark3034 I appreciate the sentiment, I really do. Regrettably I'm having a slow waltz with the dirty dancer. I've time but no energy. However watching these videos cheers me up and reminds me of my youth when I was full of vitality and I've always admired anyone who devotes time and energy to master their craft or their hobby. you should be using the flat earth map to check the swells it is way better and more understandable

Waves and footage are insane but less talking and commentary I need sick surf clips with good ass music
3:57/4:22would be cool to see more dudes going deeper in the barrel and on the foam ball. I’m not sure if it’s the camera angle but most guys don’t look super deep.

Everything has to be documented and strike missions. So glad for my trips there just after it opened up so many good surfs before all this
