After that David, Lucy and the rest of the gang left to Pacifica, but David put V in charge of continue with the edgerunners because he had saved Lucy, Rebecca and him during the battle, and so he did. Maybe it's just me, but I imagined it like this: This is a parallel universe where the events of David vs Smasher happen in 2077, and V already got chipped with the biochip, went through everything, met Hanako at Embers, left Vic's clinic, and was sitting on the rooftop planning what to do next with Johnny...The radio on the table next to V plays the breaking news, and Johnny with V hears about an attack happening on Arasaka tower, V and Johnny hearing this, quickly rushed to get there and take the chance to get to Mikoshi to remove the biochip... V gets down from the roof top quickly, calls in his car, and speeds his way across Nightcity heading towards Araska tower, goes through some 'Saka resistance, but it's nothing to slow V down, V then arrives to the fight, noticed Adam Smasher dropping on a loli looking girl who is firing at him with everything she's got, V's first instinct was to quickly activate his militech sandvistan and quickly carry her to safety, Adam Smasher, thinking Rebecca got squashed under his feet or fell under some debris, smashed the floor and fell down and to find the injured David infront of him then they fight for a little, David, while injured, gets knocked on the ground like in the show, Adam proceeds to go for the takedown, but then hears someone behind him shout "Hey! Over here you chrome piece of junk!!", it was V, Smasher shouts "You dare call me junk?!" then uses his projectile launcher on V, thinking he's another easy target, totally underestimating him, V then whispers to himself "This is for you, Johnny" and uses his sandvistan while getting his mantis blades out, dodging Smasher's projectile launcher, slicing through Smasher's body... Smasher then falls to the ground, but is still alive, V then proceeds to shoot Smasher's head with Johnny's pistol killing him, V then helps David up, and David says "Who are you?! And what are you doing here?!!" V then replies "Don't worry, I'm here to help, nice uuuhhh...Cyberware...", David then replies, having some Cyberpsychosis seizures "I...I need to go to a ripperdoc quickly", V, also getting biochip seizuires, replies "Yep...I feel ya, but I don't think a ripperdoc will be able to help us, the help we need must be inside this tower" and grunts a little, V then offers David to storm the Arasaka tower together, and maybe David will be able to get rid of his current Cyberbody to a less powerful one in order to reduce the cyberpsychosis symptoms, they fight their way through some resistance, V puts Alt in the framework completely making 'Saka resistance to a minimal, David, with the help of V, finds a disassemly room, he then disassemles his body into a less powerful, more human looking cyberbody, and while David is being disassembled, V goes to Mikoshi and inserts himself in it, him and Johnny choose that V goes back in his body and Johnny goes with Alt, and so happens, then V gets out of Mikoshi, gets assisted by David, who got his old look back, and they get out of Arasaka tower, order a Delamain cap, and go with David's crew to Vic, Vic checks on both V and David, Vic tells David that he'll survive as long as he keeps his Cyberware to a minimal, and no more sandvistan for now cause it's damaging his brain... 1 month later...Lucy, David, Rebecca, V, and Rogue are all in the Afterlife, chatting, laughing, and drinking, but V then coughs some blood, everyone goes silent for a moment, David asks "You alright there, choom?", V then replies while grunting in pain "Argh...no- yeah, I'm alright, it's just some side effects of removing the biochip", and then V goes back to his home, arranges a meeting with Mr. Blue Eyes about his space casino heist in the Afterlife, goes to sleep, and after some days of prep, V wakes up one morning, takes a shower, coughs blood some more, wipes it, puts on his clothes, puts on his Jacket, drinks a cup of coffee, calls a Delmain AV, gets in it, goes to the Afterlife to initiate the heist with Mr. Blue Eyes, but before he goes to the space shuttle, David asks V "If you need anything from me, I got you, choom, I owe you", V then replies "Nah, it's alright, I got this, it's my fight, not yours, you take care now.". Woulda been cool if you could hear about the arasaka heist in the background while lucy is on the shuttle in the OG series. Like V was in the city when this all went down and it just took Lucy 6-8 months to get to the moon.
Well, Street kid V is in Atlanta during the show. So yeah, it would be cool to hear a news report in the background about the Arasaka heist with V and Jackie.
Best part to me was when the Cyberpunk came in right at the end and said "It's Cyberpunkin' time, chum" and just cyberpunked all over the corpos. Preem.
V is a beast! I personally believe the Adam Smasher we go up against is the one in the anime. But V is so upgraded with top tier cybernetics, combat skills, and experience that he blitzes Adam samurai style.

I like how this is V with the sandevistan melee build with blades. I made that build and bodied Adam Smash with 3 hits on hard thanks to the insane critical chances and damages if you put the right points and use the right katana.
Netrunner V makes Adam even more of a chump. Imagine being Night City’s bogeyman and getting done in be a mean glare by some to bit kleptopunk from the Afterlife?
One think that still bothers me is how we never saw him died like the others his death feels like a cliffhanger you hear the shot but it just shows a splatter of blood then music starts playing but never actually shows his dead body or him getting shot.

I wish this was the definitive ending introducing V as the badass that will be, and in cyberpunk 2077, but smasher survives the attack but remembers this happening, and V fully destroys Smasher once and for all in 2077.
Y’all are forgetting V has all the memories of Mr.John Wick. Has a whole game to grow, change, hack, learn, adapt, become stronger faster smarter better etc. Of course V is considered the most powerful by the end of the play through, because he is. David Martinez is powerful but lacks the mind of V.
In real time, she wouldn't be that strong at first (she's still chilling with Jackie on random gigs) Although not sure if she could adapt enough to beat Smasher or just die in the slaughterhouse. If it was current V with max power, she would make the show about herself lmao, solo everyone and laugh in Smasher's face while talking shit with Johnny in her head.
At first i would of wanted this to be canon. But taking the good with the bad, embracing beautiful sadness may be why this anime is so memorable. Sometimes we truly cant appreciate what we have until its gone.
I really wanted a happy ending for the remaining characters by the end. But I appreciate that it was largely a tragedy - I think it's a more raw commentary on the dystopian future with all the corporate power and greed. Our characters are trying to make it in an unforgiving future and they mostly loose in the end. I think that is a story line that plays out in life more often than it plays out in media which really makes the cyberpunk anime memorable.

Would’ve been cool if this was happening in the exact time period as game. Then you’d be a bystander just watching the chaos. So while you are getting help from Panam and the Nomads the Edgerunners crew is charging into night city.

Maybe he just didn't wanted go to the Moon. Maybe he left Night City in other way. You know, starting his own clan in the desert. And then David, Lucy and Rebecca will join him. After this ending you can imagine your own story about those four. Travelling around the globe, visiting Mars and Venus... Hell, even start their own colony on Titan! Everything is possible!

I wish this was the definitive ending introducing V as the badass that will be, and in cyberpunk 2077, but smasher survives the attack but remembers this happening, and V fully destroys Smasher once and for all in 2077.

At first i would of wanted this to be canon. But taking the good with the bad, embracing beautiful sadness may be why this anime is so memorable. Sometimes we truly cant appreciate what we have until its gone.

I really wanted a happy ending for the remaining characters by the end. But I appreciate that it was largely a tragedy - I think it's a more raw commentary on the dystopian future with all the corporate power and greed. Our characters are trying to make it in an unforgiving future and they mostly loose in the end. I think that is a story line that plays out in life more often than it plays out in media which really makes the cyberpunk anime memorable.

V got a flux capacitor installed and used the sandevistan to break 80mph in order to go back and save everyone.
Would’ve been cool if this was happening in the exact time period as game. Then you’d be a bystander just watching the chaos. So while you are getting help from Panam and the Nomads the Edgerunners crew is charging into night city.
Kinda wish this was possible but anime takes place before the game before V was capable of even hurting smasher

Maybe he just didn't wanted go to the Moon. Maybe he left Night City in other way. You know, starting his own clan in the desert. And then David, Lucy and Rebecca will join him. After this ending you can imagine your own story about those four. Travelling around the globe, visiting Mars and Venus... Hell, even start their own colony on Titan! Everything is possible!

Maybe it's just me, but I imagined it like this:
This is a parallel universe where the events of David vs Smasher happen in 2077, and V already got chipped with the biochip, went through everything, met Hanako at Embers, left Vic's clinic, and was sitting on the rooftop planning what to do next with Johnny...The radio on the table next to V plays the breaking news, and Johnny with V hears about an attack happening on Arasaka tower, V and Johnny hearing this, quickly rushed to get there and take the chance to get to Mikoshi to remove the biochip... V gets down from the roof top quickly, calls in his car, and speeds his way across Nightcity heading towards Araska tower, goes through some 'Saka resistance, but it's nothing to slow V down, V then arrives to the fight, noticed Adam Smasher dropping on a loli looking girl who is firing at him with everything she's got, V's first instinct was to quickly activate his militech sandvistan and quickly carry her to safety, Adam Smasher, thinking Rebecca got squashed under his feet or fell under some debris, smashed the floor and fell down and to find the injured David infront of him then they fight for a little, David, while injured, gets knocked on the ground like in the show, Adam proceeds to go for the takedown, but then hears someone behind him shout "Hey! Over here you chrome piece of junk!!", it was V, Smasher shouts "You dare call me junk?!" then uses his projectile launcher on V, thinking he's another easy target, totally underestimating him, V then whispers to himself "This is for you, Johnny" and uses his sandvistan while getting his mantis blades out, dodging Smasher's projectile launcher, slicing through Smasher's body... Smasher then falls to the ground, but is still alive, V then proceeds to shoot Smasher's head with Johnny's pistol killing him, V then helps David up, and David says "Who are you?! And what are you doing here?!!" V then replies "Don't worry, I'm here to help, nice uuuhhh...Cyberware...", David then replies, having some Cyberpsychosis seizures "I...I need to go to a ripperdoc quickly", V, also getting biochip seizuires, replies "Yep...I feel ya, but I don't think a ripperdoc will be able to help us, the help we need must be inside this tower" and grunts a little, V then offers David to storm the Arasaka tower together, and maybe David will be able to get rid of his current Cyberbody to a less powerful one in order to reduce the cyberpsychosis symptoms, they fight their way through some resistance, V puts Alt in the framework completely making 'Saka resistance to a minimal, David, with the help of V, finds a disassemly room, he then disassemles his body into a less powerful, more human looking cyberbody, and while David is being disassembled, V goes to Mikoshi and inserts himself in it, him and Johnny choose that V goes back in his body and Johnny goes with Alt, and so happens, then V gets out of Mikoshi, gets assisted by David, who got his old look back, and they get out of Arasaka tower, order a Delamain cap, and go with David's crew to Vic, Vic checks on both V and David, Vic tells David that he'll survive as long as he keeps his Cyberware to a minimal, and no more sandvistan for now cause it's damaging his brain... 1 month later...Lucy, David, Rebecca, V, and Rogue are all in the Afterlife, chatting, laughing, and drinking, but V then coughs some blood, everyone goes silent for a moment, David asks "You alright there, choom?", V then replies while grunting in pain "Argh...no- yeah, I'm alright, it's just some side effects of removing the biochip", and then V goes back to his home, arranges a meeting with Mr. Blue Eyes about his space casino heist in the Afterlife, goes to sleep, and after some days of prep, V wakes up one morning, takes a shower, coughs blood some more, wipes it, puts on his clothes, puts on his Jacket, drinks a cup of coffee, calls a Delmain AV, gets in it, goes to the Afterlife to initiate the heist with Mr. Blue Eyes, but before he goes to the space shuttle, David asks V "If you need anything from me, I got you, choom, I owe you", V then replies "Nah, it's alright, I got this, it's my fight, not yours, you take care now.". V then gets into orbit, puts on his space helmet, gets out of the shuttle after putting it on auto-pilot, and the rest is history...
