Thanks for this video. I don't like to use social media only whatsappp and youtube. I don't like instegram but I did not know that there is a language community. What's the point of creating an account with you have zero friends only people you talk to but not close friends or people who can help you. I always wanted to learn mandarin since I was 9 years old. I grew up in a poor family so I can not take classes but now I am in college I can learn it. Same keep studying Chinese everyday but you have to study 6 hours a day to understand everything.

With social media if you aren't gaining some thing of value or putting some thing on value on social media; it's kind of a use of your valuable time because its a huge distraction. But again it helps to find a community where you can share your passion, you can market yourself idea and you can learn a thing or two from what people share. It really depends on who you meet honestly and what content you follow. I would say people on there are quite friendly. It's nice to be surrounded by like minded people. There are also teachers/ tutors that post great learning content on there too; so if you need help you can ask any one of them. Oh Wow 6 hours... do you study for 6 hours? I try to study at least 2 hours but since some of the content I do ties with chinese language; I guess I would say it plays into the 6 hours 😅😁

@@DUPE321 No I study one hour but was told by my tutor for know the language fluently study 6 hours a day. You will learn in 5-10 years if you study for an hour a day you will be fluent in 15- 25 years.😂

It would be easier to learn Chinese if Chinese people wanted to be friends with outsiders but majority only want Chinese or white friends I noticed.

No doubt, here in America it's actually quite hard, only a few that would want to be friends. If your course has tutoring session outside of class, definitely make use of that, and also join the Chinese Club. At least that's what I did in college, I joined the Chinese Culture Club which sorta helped; mostly because there weren't a lot of students in the club and we were mostly foreigners.... But your school may be different

@@DUPE321 The Chinese club meets at 9 pm and I am a commuter and live one hour away from campus. I am Muslim might also play a role. I did not have friends in high school.I go for tutoring. I meet people but they say my family or culture does not let me have friends and the other Muslims too been this way my whole life.

@Thal Lu Oh wow 9pm. That is super late. So what I kind of understand by what you just said; people you meet say that because being a Muslim doesn't let you have friend so that's why they don't want to be friends?

Thal Lu Oh okay. Do you know about HelloTalk? It’s a language exchange app. I was using it before but I’m not sure how it has changed. You can try it out and I’m pretty sure there are more language exchange apps out there
