- Another TH-camr saw the "Vim and Vigor" video and requested that I upload the complete performance of Tom Brier playing Eric Marchese's "Ramblin' Though Town" that opens that video. My memory of that recording was that it was incomplete and so it is; the beginning of the piece was sadly missed while we were all setting up. But here is all that was captured of "Ramblin'" that day, followed by an audio take of the complete performance of the same piece by Tom and Kitty Wilson (on undermiked washboard) recorded from the audience at the 2003 Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival. It's illustrated with photos of Tom and Kitty performing together with Julia Riley, Nan Bostick and others over the years. There are also a few photos of composer Eric Marchese with Tom. Tom describes the piece as being played at more of a gallop, the tempo that Kitty preferred.
Love the pictures of Kitty and Tom together.
RIP Kitty. I may have not known you until 2 years ago. But your incredible talents were such a a delight to hear and be burned into my heart in my love of Music.
Es increíble todo lo toca genial
Es el mejor es fantástico
I've probably listened to this 10 times in the past day. It's a catchy tune! I encourage you to post any other lingering Tom videos/audio recordings that you may have.
I like the post discussion in this post. I always felt that Tom Brier's posts were cut way too early. I would love to hear other post discussions. Love the collage added to the video
I listen to this piece and actually think of jockey-trained stallions. In the complete performance Kitty mostly kept the horses moving with her hoof beat rhythms, but in the last strain they pause to do levades.
Having watched through to the end, I have to comment again. What a wonderful collection of video clips, with Tom obviously having a great time - thank you again!
Thank you very much for this video! I'm also very glad to see so many "new" pictures!!
Thanks for everything you do for the ragtime community!!
So this video is interesting to me. I first heard of Tom years ago when he was sight reading the video game music. The composer's name is rather interesting as it happens to be my mothers maiden name.
Thanks for putting this up Lewis. It's so nice to see Tom and Kitty.
Great to have another fun video from the marvellous Tom Brier - thank you for posting!
Wow; what a great tune!
Great to see tom play!
