    Even if everyone watching this video might not make a map, this still informs players why maps are made a certain way, and hopefully they understand it's for the sake of balance.
    Great video!!

      Yup! You also learn a lot about how to read a map, like how it will likely play out, what COs are advantaged, what strats to go for etc etc, when you learn about map design. And vice versa too 😎

    To all current and future map makers:
    Thank you. It's thanks to you we have to strategize, theorize and imagine all kind of plans for our games

    This was incredible. Real actual data and intelligent points. I don't play AWBW, I just mess around with the gameboy games but I want to make a few maps and now I have half-baked thoughts turned into fully-baked thoughts and understand the objectives better. Great video.

    Ayyy, it finally came out! Good job putting it together, very compact for how much info was given.

    I know it's personal opinion, but one thing I hate about most AWBW comptative maps is aesthetically they tend to look chaotic at best and down right ugly in some cases... I get it, it's for balance or some such but dam....

    I like how this video is indirectly slandering the war room and vs maps in the original cart games.

    great stuff! although i got told the tamper monkey extension thing was out of date because i was experiencing some issues with pre deployed units?

    • @humita.channel
      @humita.channel  ปีที่แล้ว

      The only issue with the extension (which I forgot to mention hehe) is that the ‘resize’ tool doesn’t work currently, but maybe it gets fixed soon idk 😊. I’m not sure what problem with pre-deployed units you were referring? It works fine to me!

    One other thing that's always stood out to me is that AWBW maps never seem to have adjacent cities or adjacent forests. Is that because they make defensive play too strong, or is there another reason?

    • @humita.channel
      @humita.channel  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      An MC will prob answer better than I can. But, adjacent forests in fog are a no-go. Adjacent cities might be tricky especially for balancing Kindle, and yea because of defensive features, remember that cities also repair, so it’s hard already to dislodge 1 enemy unit from a city, imagine 2 😱

    • @Havetts
      @Havetts ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Map Committee member here, adjacent cities are very susceptive to turn advantage as the player getting there first can strike a unit on a city from a city first, which is a winning exchange 9 out of 10 times in the early game.
      Adjacent forests make defensive play in fog too strong and its almost impossible to breach and can just be outright game losing if you try to do so. Forest tiles in fog are pretty much the most valuable tiles on the map, and maps with a lot of forests are often super stally. The vast majority of S-ranked fog maps have little amount of forests near the front lines.

    idk if it was mentioned somewhere and i might have missed it, but what's the general guideline on map sizes? what approaches the ranges for too big or too small, and why?

    Why would you have to wait for current games to end before editing? Does this abort their games? lol

    • @humita.channel
      @humita.channel  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The site simply won’t let you do edits if there are games on it 😊
