Jason Devlin - Well done for making the effort mate. I’ve been out twice but the other session was just unusable footage. Howling wind and driving rain. Not good at all. 😫
Your whiting look so much different to our Australian whiting. We also in south Australia have King George whiting. One of our best table fish and very expensive to buy. Thanks. Always look forward to your videos
- We have a couple of types here. This is simply the common Whiting that most anglers will know. The other is a Blue Whiting which is more of a deep water fish and only rarely caught on rod and line. :)
Fair play for still making your videos with the weather that is lashing Britain and Ireland over the last few weeks. Seals are a pain when they start after your fish. My father and I where plagued by a big Male seal last year while pollock fishing off the south east of Ireland. Hooked and lost at least 4 big pollock to it. Even had it on the line for ten minutes at one stage till he surfaced and bit the pollock in half, leaving me with the head, then the second it did so a huge Black back gull got tangled in my line 😂😂😂 was pretty crazy shit
- I don't know if you have seen the lure fishing for Pollack vid I did a few months back. But we had the same thing happen. A big bull Grey seal found us and made himself a right pain. There isn't much to do except up sticks and move spots. :)
Nice try Mr locker, them whiting are a pain but when your desperate to get out a fish is a fish . It always makes me smile when your talking to camera but cant help them rod glances 🎣 I too have an obsession with rod tips ...I love seeing any bite 🤪does yer head in 🙄 thanks for sharing
@@TheFishLocker i've been course & fly fishing now for over 40years & still learning & im sure you are to,i beach fished for 1 week in dover on holliday and never caught a thing using carp rods thats the only time I've sea fished,if i ever decide to do it again ill be allot more clued up thanks to your channel and others like you so i appreciate it cheers 👍
You did say it would be Different from the norm, but it was quite enjoyable. I myself am more of a fly fisher, Hike up into the mountains and fish in small lakes, streams and rivers Up in Lake Tahoe California. But I do enjoy a bottle of wine, fine cheese and Sourdough bread right on the dock. Line hook and sinker waiting for a Rainbow trout or Catfish to catch. flay them and batter them up, stick um in a Skillet and have a Nice meal right on the waters edge. Listening to Alan jackson - drive or jimmy buffet 5 O'clock somewhere.
Slider ' flyer ... we both know it's a killer rig john 😉 Well done for getting out and having a go I did have a look in the week but weather was crap. Keep up the great work fella 👍👏
Good vid and you didn't blank. The weather has been dire inland as well (neighbours fence down, trees and branches uprooted and some roads flooded) but you just have to get on with it. Managed to clean the car last Wednesday and then one trip out I wonder why I bothered. Still at least I've got your videos to watch.
Family back home today. First chance to catch up with your videos. Daughter brought the shirt across and I like it. Got my computer to myself now . Looking forward to more fish Locker experiences. Have a great day mate.
mrlup888 - It’s no problem bud, I understand there are a lot of folks that really look forward to these videos and maybe cannot get out there themselves. So whilst I can, I feel I should at least try. Yes, all of these smaller fish would be great for a pack of Tope. 😀👍🏻👍🏻🎣🎣
Nice video once again!! I've been bingewatching them the previous days ;-) It's amazing what a variety of fish you have over there and using all the techniques like you're doing is simply awsome. Last november I've been fishing in Cornwall myself but I stayed ashore. I fished a winterfestival on freshwater in a place called "White Acres", I don't know if you know it but it was great fun! Keep up the nice video's they are realy worthwhile viewing: all the best from Belgium!
- Thank you Johan and I am really thrilled to hear you are enjoying working your way through our content. We do have some wonderful fishing here if you make the effort to go after it. Im not familiar with "White acres" but the name rings a bell. All the best and tight lines. ;)
theres some cracking fish in the mersey bull huss cod, codling, whiting , flatties , rays, dogfish and in summer tope (my m8 caught a lovely 20lb conger) problem we have at moment is with all the storms all the grass dumped up river is flowing down so lines collecting large amounts lol....bugger to get off and time consuming. regards:karl
thx John, small fish better than no fish. Ever think about a video moving all the gear from the van to fishing location and setup? do you make several trips or use a trolley to transport all the gear?.......cheers, Malcolm
Malcolm Bennett - Haha. You’re right mate. Better than a blank. If I did a vid from the van to the mark you’d know where I was fishing. 😛 I do the lot in one go. I look like a Sherpa. 2 rods and a tripod. Rucksack with 10kg of camera gear, batteries and tripod etc. Tackle box, bucket of bait and the waterproofs. 😉🎣👍🏻
From the slip on the other side is more productive I find, to the right of chains. There is a little conga pit, I like using a sandeel with razor wrapped to it on pulley pen rig. I feel the razor helps it stand out in the dark water. I like the live bait rig, I'll have to try it.
@@TheFishLocker I've done the same, but I like to get the last one across, stay the night on the slip and get the first one back in morning, never blanked doing that. I'm certain theres a big ray to be caught there too 😉
Hey matey, I always thought the bigger fish come in and out on the tide, less work for them but that didn't always explain fishless bright days. It's good just to be out in it all. Cheers and kindest regards to all
Just in case you don't catch much or maybe some shell fish as a starter, perhaps Mrs Fisher Locker could show how to make a proper Conish Pasty (short crust pastry, mea,t cabbage and root veg. at one end and some cheese at the other). As children we used to call then Stegosauri (or Stegosuaruses )
Every days a school day with your video's John, keep them comming looking forward to the boat fishing I always enjoy them.

hoodie - Assess, adapt and overcome. 😉🎣👍🏻 Thats what it’s all about mate. 😉
Great video mate and something we can all relate to, crap weather and the fishing not much better! 😂
Oh well the days are getting longer and hopefully some improvement with the fishing and the weather? Roll on summer 😉😎🌞🌡🎣👍
Damian Owens - Too right mate. Was good to chat to you earlier. Give our love to your good lady and tight lines mate 👍🏻🎣😉
@@TheFishLocker yeah and you mate nice chatting with you too, I showed Tash (the missus) the video of you and "fish locker" junior shuffling for worms which made her laugh and as she said what you have all been through is hell! But all has come good in the end, and let's hope the is a happy ending for all of us mate, lots of love from the Owens's! 😉🥰👍
Good Vlog John, I fished last sat in storm dennis all I managed was a large dog I was sheltered down mumbles, Swansea mate. I did get a good soaking lol 👍
Stinky Muppet I don’t think any of us can resist those glances. It’s an ingrained habit after a while (:
- The number of times Ive seen bites during editing that I missed when I was looking at the camera is criminal.haha. Hence my neck is on a swivel. ;)
Perfect timing, just finished work. 👍
James Watkins - Perfect 👌🏻🎣
I've watched loads of your vids there always interesting & very well explained, keep up the good work subscribed & liked 👍🎣 tight lines m8
- Thank you very much and welcome to our channel. I am glad you are enjoying the content and if you have any questions, just leave me a comment. :)
@@TheFishLocker i've been course & fly fishing now for over 40years & still learning & im sure you are to,i beach fished for 1 week in dover on holliday and never caught a thing using carp rods thats the only time I've sea fished,if i ever decide to do it again ill be allot more clued up thanks to your channel and others like you so i appreciate it cheers 👍
the Jevo - It is my pleasure. I am glad you have found the videos informative. 😉🎣
- Austin, that honestly sounds wonderful. Peace and simple joy. :)
Slider ' flyer ... we both know it's a killer rig john 😉
Well done for getting out and having a go I did have a look in the week but weather was crap.
Keep up the great work fella 👍👏
fatfish 68 - I knew them as a flyer from fishing off the cliff. Then as a slider using a single sabiki for garfish on the boat. 😉🎣
@@TheFishLocker great rig .... all my big bass from the shore bar 1 have been on that rig .....live bait for the grown ups bait for the babys 😉
Very interesting as always, thanks 👍
Ken Dodge - It is my pleasure Ken. Tight lines mate. 🎣
Enjoyable as always.Great tip on the pulleys.Dont pull into them too tight and lose bait presentation....
the kid - It’s the little tips that sometimes help the most isn’t it. 😉🎣👍🏻
That’s why we call it fishing and not catching 😂 great channel matey
- Thats it bud. 😊
David B. - Haha. That’s the way mate. No point getting bent out of shape is there, just got to get on with it. 👍🏻🎣
Family back home today. First chance to catch up with your videos. Daughter brought the shirt across and I like it. Got my computer to myself now . Looking forward to more fish Locker experiences. Have a great day mate.
Nomad - I am glad it got there mate and that you’re getting back to normality. The worlds turning into a crazy place.
Awesome vid! I'ma fan from philippines!
Shy - Thank you Shy, best wishes to you from Cornwall in the UK. 😊👍🏻🎣
Much love from Texas! Love the content.
- Thank you very much sir, all the very best from Cornwall in the UK. :)
"Its always a fine line."
Well yes, it's fishing! There's always a fine line!
Peter Slonsky - 🤔 You sir, have a point.
Worth a try john 👍👍
Chris Wright - Always worth a try mate. 😉👍🏻🎣
I’m new but love the vids
andy lin - I am glad you are enjoying the videos Andy. All the best and tight lines. 👍🏻🎣
Appreciate the effort you make to get out there , even in this bad weather .Good video just wish we had a larger number of predators around our waters
mrlup888 - It’s no problem bud, I understand there are a lot of folks that really look forward to these videos and maybe cannot get out there themselves. So whilst I can, I feel I should at least try. Yes, all of these smaller fish would be great for a pack of Tope. 😀👍🏻👍🏻🎣🎣
Many years ago I used a slider rig and I had forgotten about it thanks for reminding me about it.
- Sometimes the old methods are still the best. ;)
All the best and tight lines. ;)
Another excellent vid ,many thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it mate. Tight lines. 😊
also subbed and liked too fella :) cant wait to see your next vid
- Thank you very much, I have seen quite a few comments from you. Thank you for taking the time and tight lines. :)
theres some cracking fish in the mersey bull huss cod, codling, whiting , flatties , rays, dogfish and in summer tope (my m8 caught a lovely 20lb conger) problem we have at moment is with all the storms all the grass dumped up river is flowing down so lines collecting large amounts lol....bugger to get off and time consuming. regards:karl
- I know what you mean mate, I know a few lads who fish the Mersey. Good fishing when its fishable. ;)
Good un I love the little pollock........
- He was a perfect little mini predator wasn't he. haha.
thx John, small fish better than no fish.
@@TheFishLocker no camels or asses to carry the burden :) likelyhood of me fishing your mark is rather slim unless your moving countries, lol
Malcolm Bennett - Haha. No but there are a lot of local lurkers 😉 Il see if I can’t grab a pick of me loaded up.
From the slip on the other side is more productive I find, to the right of chains. There is a little conga pit, I like using a sandeel with razor wrapped to it on pulley pen rig. I feel the razor helps it stand out in the dark water. I like the live bait rig, I'll have to try it.
michael slater - That spot is a winner but I’d either have to drive round or go across. Instead I just park up the hill and walk down. 😉
@@TheFishLocker I've done the same, but I like to get the last one across, stay the night on the slip and get the first one back in morning, never blanked doing that. I'm certain theres a big ray to be caught there too 😉
michael slater - Can’t we why there wouldn’t be? 👍🏻🎣
great vid as always... love your content
- Thanks Jake, all the best. :)
Thanks mate. Little bites are better than no bites. Cheers mate.
Steve Gutshot - Isn’t that the truth. Anything is better than a blank. 😉🎣🐟
It looks real beautiful over there. Maybe I should visit some time!
- We do live in a wonderful part of the world.
Hey matey, I always thought the bigger fish come in and out on the tide, less work for them but that didn't always explain fishless bright days. It's good just to be out in it all. Cheers and kindest regards to all
allan powell - Thats not true for every location. Some run up and down a beach with the tide. Some stay in pools it’s all mark dependant. 😉👍🏻🎣
Awesome film, so you are also affilcted of bad weather, it is the same in DK heavy rain and wind
Steffen Schmidt - It has been poor weather for weeks with no end in sight. 😫💨🌊🤷🏻♂️
Great video, keep it up pal 👍
- Thank you very much David. Tight lines. :)
cheers john stay safe in these winds mate
robert mansfield - Thanks Rob. Stay safe mate. 👍🏻🎣
Well done mate, at least you got out and wetted a line, sometimes it's just worth being out in the fresh air!!
- I absolutely agree with you mate.
as always, informative and worth my time
- Glad you enjoyed the video John. :)
- Haha. I'll ask her and see what she says. ;)
