Thank you ladies. We have been saving seed for decades, yes we are that old. You both stay well and remain positive. Flower and vegetable seeds are easy to save. Eventually you get a farm original. Have fun.
Organza bags overtop of drying flowers is an easy way to save the seeds from dropping to the ground until the flowers are fully dry. A fine mesh colander placed within a large bowl helps to remove lots of chaff and paper lunch bags are good to store large quantities.
Wonderfully helpful. I am saving seed (larkspur) for the first time and maybe some others if I have time after cutting back weeds, which are terrible in new garden beds. My routine is weed, then mulch. Repeat.
Love saving my flower seeds. Questions...im just someone who loves to grow flowers, and and give bouquets to friends...well this year my zinnias got blight...will that transfer to the seeds?
@thisboymomlife From what I've read, there's a good chance it will transfer, and blight can stay in the soil for several years. It's probably best to start with fresh seed next year in a different part of the garden.
I was visiting a friend and raided her garden for seeds to take home and plant!!! I also save my own flower And some veggie seeds. Trying to grow only heirloom seeds so they come true!
I use the same photo organizer for my seeds. It's crazy how excited I was to get them all in one place!
Me, too! I think I even said it was life changing. 😅

Thankyou for your kind comment. We are on a mission to make our farm originals! 😁
Greetings from Oregon 8b! I'm starting to save seeds now, so this video is helpful. Thank you.
Thanks girls! This was so great and I especially like how you showed your process with their names for identification at the end. Be blessed!
Our pleasure ❤️

May I ask where you got Argentine Forget Me Nots? I've heard them mentioned, but I have not heard where you originally got them?
We get them from Chiltern Seeds, a UK seed company.
Thank you so much. I love collecting seeds as well. It's fun.
I've been harvesting seeds all spring and summer. Some of the fancier zinnia seeds are pricey; hopefully I'll get some that come true from seed.
You're planning ahead! That's great. I'm hoping the seeds I saved from my fancy zinnias come true, too. :)

You never mentioned marigold ?
That one is easy to save, too! We’ve hardly grown it so it wasn’t on our radar. 😁
Can you send me some seeds,I myself collect seeds, love doing what you love ❤😅
I'd be happy to send you some. Email us at rootdesignco@gmail.com.
