Some people's happy place is a beach.
Mine is a October sunny day enjoying a nice cigar and the warm sunshine as mother nature shows us her beautiful color.
I am a native New Englander. I am proud of my home and consider it the most beautiful place in our country. I thank you with all my heart for sharing this with us. I am also a drone pilot. Well done sir.

A little thing called climate.
It’s not climate. Ya, sure, California is slightly drier, but many parts of California are in hardiness zone 5 like New England so temperatures drop to near freezing in fall. The problem is, California is evergreen conifer country, and beautiful trees like the ones in the east coast aren’t native here. Many cities in zone 5 or zone 6 California grow trees form the east coast and the do surprisingly well, due to similar climates. It’s just the soil type which is different and that evergreens are the most common tree in highland California also, California is mostly temperate in the northern part.
California has it's own unique type of nature. That's the beauty of North and South America
