I'm so happy I stumbled across this the week I started my reread! TOG is amazing and is SJM's best series by far, in my opinion (and I really like all of them!) I have some different takes though, I am team read Assassin's Blade first, I read it third last time and regretted it bc after Crown of Midnight I did not want to go back in time, especially knowing how it ends. But on a reread I am really loved Assassin's Blade and there's a lot more important things in it than just the tragic end, the later SJM books has soo many callbacks to Assassin's Blade! I also did the tandem read of Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn and I enjoyed reading it that way. By the time we got to TOD I was not eager to read a book about Chaol, but I'm glad I did because - no spoilers! - it is actually really good and really important to Kingdom of Ash, in my opinion! I love this series so much and a so excited to follow along with y'all.
