these small tire street car that runs no time no prep, why would you pick a single over twins when peoples twin setups use pretty much the same size turbos that the single uses.

Depending on the platform, for example B58/ S58/ S55, single turbos usually have the top end. Twin turbos have the hit due to torque, but depending on traction, it can hurt times.

Lot's of times Twin Set-ups can just be too much for the track conditions at the starting line, in most cases Twins will always be more responsive compared to a Large Single, and can be just too much for the starting line, or the tire size or type of tires being used, That is where a Single can be beneficial, because it usually produces more lag time than a Twin Set-up, which will allow the car to get off the line without blowing the tires off. Twin Set-ups almost always will use 2 smaller Turbos than a Single Turbo Set-up, So will almost always produce much more low end power, than a Single. It all comes down to preference and what is being asked of your automobile, i myself will almost always prefer a Large Single Turbo in a Drag Racing Set-up, the only time i would want 2 Turbos is in a Compound Set-up on a Diesel Trruck, but Compounds are a whole different story.
